ENJOY !!!
Heart goes out to the owner of the P-40 ... such a shame. Hope you can repair it ... Love takeoffs and flight but scared of all the interesting ways of coming down!!! Great planes!!!!!
The P-40 survived and it's claose to be finished.
For the landings I have to mention that there was a stronf wind that day and most of the pilots are not used to land on a paved runway.
_Best regards, RCSA_
Beautiful! We love seeing our B-17 in miniature like this - well done!
It's a pleasure to receive such a kind comment !!! Thank you !!!
czcams.com/video/9owlwlxJxPw/video.html ... her first flight
Wow!! Those are all impressive as hell!! Did not even know RC War Birds were being made that big with gas engines. Absolutely loved the B-17, P-47, F-4U, and Spitfires. Thats a helluva hobby you guys got going on. Thanks for keeping history alive with them.
Thank you for your compliments, which I really appreciate. I'm very pleased to know, that you liked watching the video.
*sorry for being late with my reply !*
_Best regards, RCSA_
The flyby at 1:55 looked like the real B-17, If you didn't know these were videos of RC planes you would have thought these were the full sized planes. Great job on the details guys!
B17 is such a beautiful aircraft 😍😍
Shear joy to watch. My dad hand built many many custom RC Planes till he passed years ago. Always wanted to build planes myself but life has been too busy. Love watch you guys, brings back tons of great memories
Many thanks for your compliments, Richard. I'm very pleased !!!
Since I do videos, I also have no time to build rc planes. Now I always buy second hand "RTF" park flyers. :)
Have a great time. Best regards, RCSA
that Chance Vought...F4-U/Corsair replica... hit a lil hard on the 2nd bounce, collapsed the gear. looked like the quick-thinking pilot threw some hard aileron to it. raised it up and over enough, the gear came back down and locked...WOW...what piloting skills...that's something for the rest of us, to remember...a lesson for any wanna-be future pilots, and seasoned veterans.... alike....
Hands down most beautiful rc ever. That b17 was flown well and reminds me of good ol American ingenuity!
Thank you very much for your great comment, Brandon. I'm glad to know that you liked watching the video.
Videos like this are really marvellous. Makes me wish I'd got into RC when I was a kid!
Thank you Chris, for your kind comment. It's never too late lying Rc airplanes.
I've started with an age of 43 :)
Such a beautiful display of craftsmanship with stunning models, and outstanding airmanship by R/C operators... You're all to be commended.
I was comparing the RC Aluminum Overcast to my old old 2009 footage I shot of the real plane when it came to my my town. It's hard to tell the difference!
i realize it's kinda off topic but do anybody know a good site to watch newly released series online?
Beautifull show And admirable discipline. Amazing how the pilot of the P40 remain "calm" after crashing and let the show go on. Great day, thank you for sharing.
Beautiful aircraft and great flying. I'd love to see all these warbirds flying together in formation with the B-17---sometime.
just WOW ! love seeing these warbirds land! very good landings are so rare which proves just how hard these bouncy tail draggers are to land. Its nice to know that no matter how used you get to flying the model, you'll always have a challenge ahead until the plane stops moving.
Thank you for your compliments, _Gabriel_. Yes, it's very tricky to land them on a paved runway with x-wind and more than 15,000 spectatores behind you.
I'm very pleased to know, that you liked watching the video.
_Regards, RCSA_
Another top shelf video Horst! Lovely planes, flights and landings and of course sounds! Well done! Thumbs up! Cheers!
Thank you my friend. It's always a pleasure to read your kind comments.
All the best to you.
Cheers, Horst
I can only imagine the time and effort spent on this beautiful warbird!!! Great job!!!
Thank you very much for your great comment. I'm glad to know that you liked watching the video. Best regards, RCSA
I'm astonished at the absence of mid air collisions with that many birds in the air at one time.
Way to go!!!
They flew for the very first time together and behind the pilots were thousands of spectators ... I would have shit in my pants ≧◔◡◔≦
Wouldn't you think stage fright would gnaw away at the pilots until disaster worked its way in?
vanpenguin22 No. I think if they have their aircraft in the air, the pulse will go back down. But on landing it will probably rise again. Disaster happen most often due to technical failure.
RCScaleAirplanes
Come to think of it, I bet the focus level probably has them dialed in sharp and calm.
Dinner and a cigar say once they land the wave of adrenalin hits and they shake like leaves.
My Dad built Model Airplanes about 80 years ago. He so loved his Hobby. He says now he can't due to his age. I love the video & saw RC planes at Wright Patterson AFB last week during WW1 celebration
.
EXCELLENT VIDEO .
Outstanding fly skills. Excellent show
Many thanks !!!
Absolut geile Vorstellung, fantastischer Motoren-Sound , das muß ich unbedingt mal live sehen.
Ein Wunder, dass die Behörden sowas überhaupt genehmigen.
beautiful planes, sorry for the P 40, flying is mostly a positive mind set, people who are negitive i sure dont fly, and dont understand this hobby, great job guys, thanks for the time you spend on your planes for people like me to enjoy, my topflite P40 will fly this spring for the first time and my first nitro plane, i have been training on a FMS P 51, so far 20 flights all is good! keep up the great video work.
Many thanks for your kind comment, Scott.
The P-40 had a problem with the engine and therefore it lost speed during take off. In this situation the pilot reacted a little too hard on the rudder. The plane is already repaired.
I whish you many successful flights with your new P-40
Best regards, RCSA
Thanks!
RCScaleAirplanes That's good they got it repaired and back to flight ready. Engine failure in takeoff put even the best of pilots in a bad spot,, holding the plane upright has got to be a challenge and in RC scale it's especially difficult as the plane reacts so quickly.
John Z Thank you for your great comment, which I greatly appreciate.
The P-47 is repaired and ready for the new season. You're right, it's hard to manage a save recovery at low airspeed.
Best regards, RCSA
Ironic that plane crashed on take-off were common during the war...
I used to fly back in the 70s and 80s. I flew a Corsair and a P-51B Mustang. I flew for about 15 years. I love watching these old warbird models fly, brings back memories.
good work dear friend
Thank you so much 😀
I really liked all the planes but my favorites were the F4-U Corsairs, they have such a unique sound when making a "Strafing run", if I remember correctly they were called "Whistling Death", back during the war. Gosh, I love to watch them all in the sky at once what a great display. Thank's for sharing, very enjoyable.
That B-17 looks like the REAL THING !!!
Many thanks for watching and commenting. Much appreciated !!!
you should attach a go pro camera to it for a flight
We will do it in 2014
Thank's for watching and commenting !!!
Yeah, can't help feeling bad for the P40, maiden voyage? P47 sounded like the real thing. I loved it and I WILL watch it a million times over, so says your trailing message.
The P-40 has being already repaired and it flies again :)
Thank you for your compliments, which I really appreciate.
I'm very pleased to know, that you liked watching the video.
_Regards, RCSA_
RCScaleAirplanes You're very welcome. I've been into classic warbird aircraft since I was little back in the days of the show"12 o'clock High"(B17s). Then I flew R/C aircraft for around 20 years(P51B Mustang and an F4U1A Corsair w/all control surfaces and retractable landing gear. Wish I still had them. A couple of guys fell in love with both planes and I got all my money back that I put into them.
NHfiddle Thanks for your kind comment. It's good to hear, that you lost your planes by getting money :)
I also had a collection of 1/48 scale models of every single plane used in WW2 from all the major powers, USA, Japan, Germany and Great Britain. I called it my "mini museum".
NHfiddle That's cool! Don't tell me that you've sold them? One should keep such things always for his descendants. I know this is easier said than done. :)
I love the thought of remote control ... and dread the costs... BUT thanks to those who do take up the hobby and allow it to be videoed is a great boost for us ... the watchers..
Another great video showcasing that lovely B-17. I guess that was the P-40 that crashed in the beginning. What a shame. Those Kolm engines are definitely an improvement. They sound much better and the three-bladed props make it more realistic.
Could you give me some information on the Kolm engines? Danke.
Hi _Jeff_. Please excuse my late reply. I'm very busy at the moment.
Yes, the P-40 chrashed on take off, but it's already been repaired.
The _Kolm Engines_ are really good and have enough power for a 3 blade prop.
If you need informations of the engines, you can directly contact Mr. Kolm.
Website: www.kolmengines.com (e-mail and phone numbers mentioned at the very lower part of the site)
Best regards, Horst
RCScaleAirplanes Hi Horst. That's good news about the P-40. Thanks for the link to Kolm. I appreciate it. Happy flying! Jeff
Jeff Puha You're always welcome, _Jeff_. I'm glad to know that I was able to help you !
_Best regards, Horst_
That fly-by at 1:50 was just beautiful! The skill it must have took to build that and then to fly it.. just amazing! Great work guys!
Thank you very much for your great comment. I'm glad to know that you liked watching the video.
Here you can see how the B-17 has been built > www.flickr.com/photos/80143796@N07/sets/72157633358260800/show/
Best regards, RCSA
These guys are no different than us Americans, they love military history and planes, and like 99.9% of Germans living today had nothing to do with Nazi Germany and probably don't know anyone still living who fought for the Nazi regime. If they spoke English you wouldn't be able to tell the difference in many cases, they probably value their family and country, and enjoy their hobby with friends... A hobby that just happens to have a majority of designs and fans based out of America consisting of American planes.
+HermannTheGreat *_You hit the nail, Hermann !!!_*
_Thank you very much for your kind comment !!!_
Yes, it was windy that day. Thanks for watching and commenting !
Just think, it was almost flying with 7 warbirds
YES ... you're right ... _almost_ *smile*
RCScaleAirplanes
That's a shame about the seventh. Sorry for all the rude comments from others. This was an amazing flight. Thank you for sharing.
lived in Europe for 6 yrs as a child, loved watching this stuff in germany, every sunday after church....
Thank you Bruce, for your kind comment. I think that at your time in Germany the planes were not that big *(ツ)*
Best regards, RCSA
19 ft. B-17 "Flying Fortress" Flying Together With 6 .... 2:36 .... SHIT, make that 5 Other Warbirds ... :-(
B-17 crashed as well
Thanks for your compliments.
I'd also wish I could manage to fit a camera on the plane. Maybe next year .... I will try it.
I wish someone would mount a go-pro on one of these planes ....
maybe even inside the cockpit. ....cool.
I can only imagine how much money is tied up in that flying work of art, its beautiful, well done
"and ze now we shoot down with ze model 262"....
_Cordialement, RCSA_
Bad times for the P-40...
Yes, it went down because of an engine failure but she's already has been repaired and ready for take off in 2014
Thx for keep history alive with them, my grandad use to be a ball gunner on one of them, he just recently past away this Boxing Day
How do people control that thing? Do they have a camera on the remote, or they just stare at their aircraft as they operate it? Dam.
Vannara Meas Yep, exactly.
Vannara Meas just stare at their aircraft...
Marcel Wey That's probably more painful then flying the real thing....
+Vannara Meas Requires much more precision .
I fly both full scale and RC and I'm going to have to disagree with you there.
Love the look of those warbirds when they fly over in a group. Beautiful planes, I enjoyed watching this video.
Thank you very much for your great comment. I'm glad to know that you liked watching the video.
Best regards, RCSA
Poor P-40 ;_;
oh yes. it was heavily damaged but it has been already repaired.
RCScaleAirplanes What happened to it? Did it stall? It looked like so.
Thank you very much for your compliments. Much appreciated.
Germans weren't so excited and happy when the real B-17 s were flying over Germany lol
It seems that you were good boy at school. This was the only war, at which America was one of the winners :)
+Kill Them All Oh, please save us wise man.
Nope, the U.S. (America is the continent btw) was only one of the collaborators, the Red Army did almost all the job in that theatre of operations.
U.S. did not won the Korean War. It never ended fyi. And the Civil War is like winning against yourself.
@YeOldeScience Russia won WW2 for Europe. American education system must really be brain washing you all lol
Why are so many people shit at landing? you have a huge conrete strip and still land like that because of a 10 odd mph cross wind? Only one guy landed properly, I see all these guys at shows with awesome planes and can't land them for shit.
The last thing I would do is put my scale spitfire down so hard, just rip out the undercarridge
Thanks for watching and commenting !
Most pilots do not have any opportunity to practice on a paved runway. A grass runway is softer and slows the airplane down at touchdown. This does not happen on asphalt. And yes ... there was a lot of x-wind, which makes it even more difficult.
RCScaleAirplanes Well I understand a paved strip is not always accessible but the approach is always the same. The planes are amazing and I'm glad these people have gone to the time and effort to make them, I just think practising landing would make it all the more impressive. I'm not just slating this video by the way, everyone seems to be the same, even 90% of the guys at my club can't land either. Just frustrating sometimes haha
sniktun1 I can understand you. I'm also not happy to see such "bad" landings.
There is still a factor in this video, which you get to see at the end. 15000 spectators are behind you. The pilots in this video are flown here for the first time ... and also for the very first time together in the air. No test flight was possible. It does not always work everything perfect. It is important that the aircraft remained in one piece.
I hope, you can understand what I mean.
_Best regards, RCSA_
RCScaleAirplanes
Yes I can understand the situation. I have only ever done my mid wing performance at a show for about 700 people so far less than here.
Are you guys based in england or the US? the flying fortress here is amazing to watch I have never seen a model of it before. Largest I have seen is a 1/6th scale Lancaster bomber here in the UK.
sniktun1 If you are not used to it, even 700 people behind you can change your flying skill :)
I'm from Germany and the guys from _Falcon Wings_ are from Austria.
_I probably will be at Weston Park in June 2014_
Cheers, RCSA
Besten Dank Franz. Bei diesem Anblick blieb mir die Spucke weg. Viele Grüße, Horst
Thanks for watching.
I'd also wish I could manage to do so. Maybe next year .... I will try it.
Simply awesome! The B-17 is my favorite, however my hat's off to all the modelers and pilots!
Wow that P-47 sounds mint! Nice job on the B-17, sounds amazing too! Sad to see the P-40 go down so early, but according to previous replies it's fixed.
+Nathan B Love the Thunderbolt! I can watch the P-47 fly all day and then some.
Thank you for your kind comment. Yes, a video can't show what you will see in person. It was amazing, even if I could only see it through the viewfinder.
Sincerely, RCSA
Great video, thanks. It amazes me just how much like their full size cousins these guys look in turns and landings.
Thank you so much for your kind comment, I really appreciate.
Best regards, RCSA
many thanks for watching and commenting !!!
Magnificent! Thank you all for your dedication to detail, your technological artistry, and a great, great show!!!
That was great! Thanks for posting. A lot more entertaining than another time when planes like that were in the air over Germany..:)
Thank you Andrew, for your kind comment. I would like to have a flight in real one. Maybe it will happen one day :)
If you like to see more videos of the RC version, you can find them in my uploads.
Best regards, RCSA
Thank you for your great comment. Many people spend a lot of money on their vacations ... others invest some of it in their hobby. (ツ)
I'm glad that such people exist !!!
Best regards, RCSA
Thank you for your kind comment.
The only difference between the B-17 and single engine warbirds is that it has two ignition systems. One for the inner, another for the outer engines. That means that he can separately switch off one after the other.
All other functions of rudder, flaps and gear are the same as on other rc planes.
Best regards, RCSA
German aeromodellers have always led the way in terms of sheer quality of models. You guys kick ass!
Many thank's Rafael. Much appreciated.
Thanks for your great comment. Yes, models of this size are not toys and not cheap.
Best regards, RCSA
Thanks for your comment. The repair of the crashed P-40 cost only some hours in the workshop. No mechanical or electrical damages :)
Thank you very much for your compliments. Much appreciated. The crashed P-40 will be repaired during winter time. Best regards, RCSA
Many thank's Pete for your kind comment. Yes, they did a great job, also because they never flew together before. Asphalt is not so easy for warbirds. The P40 crash was caused by the lack of engine power and over correction at the sticks ... heavy damaged, but repairable.
More to come soon (ツ) ... Best regards, Horst
Danke Thomas. Eine super Show habt ihr da abgeliefert !!!
What a great display well done the landings were fantastic
Good luck and happy landings
Thank you very much for your compliments. Much appreciated.
I completely agree with you! Best regards, RCSA
Thank you very much for your compliments. Much appreciated. Best regards, RCSA
Thank you very much for your compliments. What I really appreciate. Best regards, RCSA
Thanks for sharing these incredible airplanes with all of us!
Thank you _Dan_, for your kind comment !
It seems like every time I see an amazing American warbird it's in Germany, Austria or Switzerland! Amazing dedication to the hobby!
Don't worry, it's not so expensive as you might think. The most expensive part on that plane are the engines. This B-17 is completely self made and the wood to build it, is not that expensive. Check out the video of the maiden flight where you will find a link to the pictures "how to build".
Anyway, thanks for your kind comment. Best regards, RCSA
Thank you for your kind comment, which I really appreciate.
This video almost mirrors the real tragedy of the erstwhile incidents.
Hello Horst, please do not worry, I appreciate you taking the time to reply, it is always appreciated! I always look forward to your videos, they are most enjoyable and very well produced. Thanks again for all your hard work and dedication!! Cheers, Dougal
Many thanks my friend. I'm very glad to read your kind comments.
_Happy Easter_
Vielen Dank Markus. Freut mich, dass es Dir gefällt !!!
Spectacular. I can't imagine the feeling as you guide the B-17 in for landing. Has to be nerve-wracking!
Thank you for your compliment, I really appreciate it. Yes, the landing on concret is always a battle :)
_Best regards, RCSA_
Awesome! I had no idea that RC planes on this scale existed. Fantastic Models and pilot skills!
scole1116 Thank you for your compliments, which I really appreciate. _Best regards, RCSA_
Thank you for accepting my proposal to watch this video. I'm glad to know that you like it ... THANK'S!

Thank you for your kind comment, which I really appreciate.
The sketch comes from "cdscaledesigns". The engines are KOLM EZ65
For more details, please have a look into the video description of the maiden flight video, which you will find at my uploaded videos.
Best regards, RCSA
I would have loved to been there to watch those old birds fly. Awesome video guys.
Many thanks _Bill_. Maybe you will find the way to the 2015 edition of the HORIZON Airmeet in Germany.
Excellent video! I loved seeing all the warbirds flying together.
+Raggical Traggical _Thank you very much for your kind comment !!!_

Vielen Dank für Deinen tollen Kommentar !!! Viele Grüße, Horst
Just beautiful! Now i want an RC plane, but armed with paintball guns! That should totally be a sport, RC dogfighting ftw.
_loool_ ... would be nice to watch but not so nice for the pilots and their planes :)
The Corsair had an ignition failure.
All engine types are now mentioned in the updated video description.
Best regards, RCSA
