The therapist was right about Charlie, he's the only one who's fully aware and comfortable with being exactly who he is.
He is? I don’t get it wasn’t that episode full of Charlie going on with how insecure he is lmao how everyone thinks of him as dumb and crazy?
@@byHexted Everyone else lives in a fantasy world. They may be objectively smarter (debatable) but Charlie is the only one who doesn't feel the need to impress anyone.
@@spicerc1244so we're just going to ignore all the years of him trying to impress the waitress?
@@emanuelmartinez7267 that’s not what they mean, he’s trying to impress the waitress because he wants to date her. The rest try to impress others for egotistical reasons.
@@byHexted I think charlie's life would scar anyone and he continues to seek a sense of fulfillment with reasonable expectations although he is a deeply flawed human ie the stalking lying about cancer but he generally wishes other people in and outside the gang welbeing
“ok, so there’s NO WAY to have a rational conversation with you.”
“… no.”
at least he has SOME self-awareness?
@@dykesmcgee3136 "I don't know how to express myself unless through anger and personal attack" strikes again.
😂 the way he lowers his tone for the "no"
That part legit made me question my faith back when I was still catholic lmaooo
Lmfao
i love how his stupidity has different vibe from Charlie
That's one of the things that really makes it so good. They're not JUST the writers doing all the "haha dum dum lol" jokes they can cram into the script; their different brand of stupidity is very character-specific and informs everything else that they do.
Charlie is dumb, Mac is stupid lol
Charlie as the the straight man is hilarious 😆 like he's the guideline of over the top.
Let not forget he sniffs glue and drinks paint
@@bellzebub9863 Lol yea Charlie has the brain-damage from glue kind of stupid where as Mac has a lighter but more intractable type of stupid.
The difference is confidence
I love that the gang makes Dennis look like a genius with his probably 90 IQ
Dennis did graduate from a ivy so I don’t doubt he’s smart. He’s just so arrogant that even when he’s dead wrong he still thinks he’s correct
@@jonathanfox676 that and year of alcoholism etc. have probably screwed with his brain.
Dennis has basically average intelligence but by comparison he looks like a genius haha.
@@jonathanfox676 Shit getting into an Ivy is the hard part, can't believe Dee flunked out lmao.
@Jonathan Fox It's easy as shit to get into Ivy when your dad is a plutocrat.
I love how Dennis never lets his stupidity slide he immediately jumps on what he says
LOOK AT ME WHEN YOU'RE TALKING TO MEEE!!
@@Han_Singular oh shit the steaks are here
Congratulations grasping an obvious character trope.
@@jimthompson8947 wow! You’re very observant for a 14 year old, good job!
@@jimthompson8947 yeah omg wow… I ALSO noticed he is a little bit psychotic I think they have been “subtly” hinting at it 😂

Mac's not stupid...he's the brains, Dennis is the looks, Charlie's the wildcard.
No Mac is the "Sherriff of Paddy's"
Mac is the muscle
And Dee is the.. bird?
Frank is the money and "connections." Lol
Wildcard bitches! Yee haw!
I love that even Charlie is surprised by Mac saying evolution isn't real
It's funny Charlie fucking hates Churches cause they're a scam made just to take old people's money.
But in the Mother Mary Stain episode he dressed as a 'charismatic' preacher, impressed a bunch of old people by acting flamboyant and confident, and claimed he may or may not be Jesus Christ, the son of God.
It's so ridiculous, but it's totally not contradictory if you think about it. Charlie hates the scam when his mother or him are being scammed, but he loves the scam when he's doing the scamming! And he likes the attention. And he pissed off Mac so much both times lmfao.
That and he definitely fucking hates having to stand up and sit down over and over again for no reason.
Mac is a broken clock that can be right twice a day.
@@pysq8 well said lol
Evolution is bullshit
@@pysq8no way you just said evolution isn’t real 🤣🤣
I love how Mac legitimately doesn’t comprehend his own stupidity. One of the best parts of this show
The Dunning-Krueger effect. Dumb people often think they’re smart because they don’t realize the complexity of things. Smart people know they always have a lot to learn.
@@coleozaeta6344 one of the things I learned about myself early on is I don’t really know Jack shit compared to most people. Father never taught me a damn thing so I don’t really know the most basic stuff that most grown men do. So I’m just trying to teach myself
@@Montanakid1988 That's the smartest thing anyone can do. It's maddening how many people insist that they're doing something "the right way" just because "that's how my dad always did it."
Big stupidity.. but who's here talking non stop about him ?? 😂😂
@@coleozaeta6344that’s definitely the way with a lot of “smart” people who sound like they’re sucking themself off with their google knowledge.
I became an electrician based solely on mac’s electrical knowledge.
i mean... hes not wrong
Just don't ground yourself and you'll be fiiiiiine.
my electrical professor back in college said this is 100% true. One of the reason birds are safe. But if you touch the other wire, while still hanging, that will electrocute you
Kurt Russell did it...
Nice
"Been there? .............not phsyically" gets me every time 🤣
Lol! I quote this all the time but it’s so nuanced and random no one ever gets it.
@@SerenityNowww same with this and quite a few other Always Sunny jokes. Because of the implication.
Mac and Charlie share two brain cells and they don't divide them evenly
and Dennis has one and one half of them
Despite being terrible, Mac and Charlie have an innocence about them that keeps me from wanting them to be better people. Seeing the world through their lens is like remembering what it's like to be a 13 year old who just has wrong opinions and is so unaware of their own bias, yet is so trusting of themselves that absolutely no one can take them out of their imagination. And that imagination fuels their wacky adventures so well. + with Dennis and Frank there to ground them so harshly = comedy gold.
Frank doesn't always ground Charlie & Mac though; oftentimes he'll suspend his own maturity/intelligence just to screw around. funny how he's a successful businessman off some corrupt choices & companies, but he mainly chooses to live in squalor & only associates with the gang mostly by choice 😂😂😂 I still remember the episode from his point of view where he was only tangentially related to the gang's scheme but he still somehow saved the day & called Dee a bird 2x
@@droomzy dee's a bird
@@psyduck8025 Dennis, Mac & Charlie: "bro SHE IS A BIRD!" *laugh maniacally*
14:46 I love how after Dennis says “for our pleasure,” Mac starts checking out the sales guy.
He's imagining the guy bent over a barrel
@@cohenparsons947 Yep! You got it!
Such great subtle comedy. It’s why the show is so rewatchable. Every time through you see someone doing something in the background you never noticed.
His eyes light up lol
Thank you
I absolutely love the way Rob writes Mac. Everyone in the gang has their own brand of stupid but Mac's is the most bizarre and irrational, I bet he has a lot of fun writing him.
Mac’s stupidity comes from believing what he sees in movies, his blind faith (regardless of how you feel on religion), and his obsession with himself. Charlie’s stupidity comes from substance abuse and just general lack of awareness/poor upbringing.
The pyramid scheme guy trying to keep character and not just burst out into "oh my god these idiots." is one of my favourite parts of that episode.
You.
It’s not a pyramid scheme it’s a reverse funnel system
@@isaac-vb1ng Exactly. Dee has it all figured out
It's one of the best parts of the entire series. The scammer actor does such a great job
i love how mac believes in genetic mutation but not evolution as if evolution wasn't a series of genetic mutations over time.
Charlie has learning disabilities meanwhile mac seems like a guy that just never tried to learn.
i LOVE when charlie acts as the straight man when mac and charlie team up😭
13:25 Mac taking his last gulp of beer before confronting the purple situation is so funny
Danny agrees.
3:13 the way Charlie moves as if he's taken aback is one of the best moments in sunny
the himbo we don't deserve
”Been there? …. Not physically”
Best line
“So I’m suppose to risk my life based on what you saw in tango and cash?…”
“…Kurt Russel”
Also I think one of the top contenders for best Mac moments is 16:45, never fails to make me cackle and the way he tries to explain Dennis' earlier points of what makes his joke work to the woman (it's light, it's playful), before getting stuck in the specifics of a hypothetical he brought up, perfectly exhibits his brand of stupidity
Completely agree - that scene is 20/10
“Where do i jizz?
No you don’t jizz!!
Well dennis how can I orgasm if I dont jizz?”
The look Dennis gives is perfect, gets me every time
I wonder what would perfectly exhibit my brand of stupidity 🤔
@@subg8858 for me it's that I've been saying shit like "doggie dog world" and "Tommy Hill-finger", my phonetic learning is not so good
I love how SHOCKED and ANGRY Frank and Charlie are that Mac doesn’t believe in evolution 🤣
they may not be the most intelligent but they are the closest in ideologies to their animal brethren, they probably took it a little too personally
Omg, how could you not put the scene where he talks about trying to use his Dave and Busters card at TGI Fridays? That is one of the most hilarious things Mac has ever said on the show.
Does your DnB card work at lets say a T.G.I.F?
It does not, believe me I have tried.
I know that because if you recall I was with you on most of those encounters.
@@thomasgaither7833 Wait… how does this work?
@@ZoomersAreTheCauseOfPain I’m not sure how the US economy works let alone a self sustaining economy..
No, you son of a bitch, we're way past that.
YEAH I WONT YOU CAN THOUGH!
I swear whenever I rewatch the Frank Retire's episode and Mac says, "I'm gonna play both sides", that expression kills me, he's so determined and trying to be so smart and devious, even after Charlie tells him what he just did he still repeats it to Dennis and Dee, probably one of my favorite gags of the whole show, Mac playing both sides, classic!
mac wrapping the tape around the dispenser mindlessly at 7:54 is truly one of the funniest things
Some of Mac’s stupidity must come from his god awful parents. The absolute nonsense about apple seeds and smoking is just the kind of thing his mum may have come up with. He does have a cigarette for a mother…
She probably smoked while pregnant with him.
The way they get conned into the timeshare is such a brilliant scene
They think they gon' get, but they got got.
14:46 I never noticed how hard Mac checks the dude out before
One of the very best scenes of the entire series. And that's saying something
The "House of McDonald" bit seriously broke me. "Oh my god, are you THE Ronald McDonald?" "I can't tell if you're making fun of me or not."
You dig down, underground now
@@ididgt4259 no compass, no north star...
"GO WHERE, PURPLE?! THATS NOT A PLACE!" one of the best exchanges of the whole series
I hadn’t seen that one before, i cried laughing lmao
“Maybe we should go there?”
1:38 I love Frank's little dance.
When Mac stirs his drink and goes "did you make yourself throw up" LOL
16:43 is the epitome of who mac is, so violently desperate to impress dennis.
"What should I do now?"
"I d- I don't give a shit"
Charlie is surprisingly the smart one in that conversation. 😂😂😂
i both disliked and liked this video, because im playing both sides
"Dennis, look! I'm 6 foot 10. I've always wanted to be 6 foot 10!"
"HEY LOOK, MAC, YOU'RE 5 FOOT 9!"
Mac is so emotionally immature he has to be physically "big" to fewl grown up
It fits his character perfectly
@@ernstthalmann4306Thank goodness for "size pills"
The way Dennis yells “No, Mac!” at 1:34 is hilarious. Dennis’ bottled rage is about to explode but he reels himself back quickly. 😂
18:26 “Are you THE Ronald McDonald, is the hamburger clown named after you?”
“…I can’t tell if you’re making fun of me right now.”
“Oh?”
I think that’s my favourite moment of at least the most recent season, maybe even the last few seasons. I had to pause it to laugh the first time I saw it, the phrase “hamburger clown” is just hilarious, and Charlie’s deadpan “oh?” kills me every time
Honestly the best part is I can't tell if he's joking
"Mac, I think this guy just bent himself over a barrel a little bit." "He did?" "Yeah. For our pleasure."
I know this video compilation focuses on Mac, but my goodness Dennis cracks me up. He's so weird, sick, and twisted.
Mac's totally confused expression when Dennis tells him not to tell either side that he is playing both sides lol
I never noticed until now that at 5:40 he uses the laser pointer pen to show he’s bald from chemo 😂
You know Mac is stupid when you remember that Charlie, a guy who CAN'T READ, debunks his movie/religious knowledge
Charlie is seen reading in the first couple episodes, Homie just does so many Charlie chores at patty's that his brain is rot
@@Th3Espr3ss0 i dont think so. The gang is always trying to prove something. Charlie is trying to prove he isnt stupid. "Flowers for charlie" is the main reason i think this, he pretends to read and understand stuff but he just never gets it
he can ALMOST read, he'll adapt
@@hexhollows he'll adapt to reading?
@@Th3Espr3ss0 My theory is that he used to read, but between all the physical trauma and inhalants, he's lost whatever focus he once had.
I love his polo shirt + tie combos.
“Smoke some cigarettes. The smoke will suffocate the bacteria…” Most low key yet absolute WORST advice ever 😆
Macs rule about apples are maybe my favorite dumb mac thing, mostly because its one of the only things that ALL of the guys actually believe and are terrified of.
"Smoke some cigarettes, the smoke will kill the poison"
Its the type of thing you would expect Dennis to really lay into him about it being stupid, but he takes it as sage advise.
And they could realistically be afraid of apple seeds because they contain cyanide, which they know is poisonous. (Just really small amounts.. but that nuance can be forgotten).
Frank even acknowledged it when he was told Dennis swallowed the seeds and was trying to throw up.
@@DemonicAdj also if you swallow seeds they pass through anyway, so you're 100% safe if you don't chew them
Frank yelling about the cancer thing is one of the funniest moments in the show😂
i love how the timeshare guy doesn’t even look like he’s putting on an act when they say they’re gonna buy 3 weeks, he’s like “oh shit did i just con 2 disabled people?”
lmaooo thinking to himself "this feels wrong even for me"
This is making me really appreciate Mac and Charlie as a duo. They're the stupidest ones, making it even funnier when they can call each other stupid.
The best moments are the ones where Mac makes Charlie look like a well-adjusted and sane person
3:43 Mac is low key pitching John Wick
Dennis's deliveries in the yellow/purple scene are just masterful
Now when people argue with me that Charlie's the stupid one I can show them this video
I still do love the times when Mac is the smart one and Charlie is stupid and Mac can’t believe how stupid Charlie is. It’s one of my favorite twists.
It's funny cuz Mac is basically the stupidest a person can be realistically, no drive to connect dots or find out the truth when he learns he's wrong. Charlie is pretty sharp intellectually; he will take his own assumptions or fiction as truth but has a solid (for him) internal logic that has never been corrected, bringing his stupidity to an almost sub-human level while having more "intelligent" reasoning than any of Mac's beliefs.
Frank tried his best with the cancer thing.
Dont ever stop making these! Need a cricket compilation for sure.
Mac is the OG himbo fr
“That doesn’t sound right but I don’t know enough about stars to dispute it” is one of my all time favorite IASIP quote 😂😂
5:21 I just realised he said "thank you, frank you"
Dennis getting so angry with Mac every time is hilarious 😅
My favorite is in Mac Day near the bridge when you see Dennis progressively on the complete edge of blowing up, then finally screams into the pillow
WAKE UP BABE NEW IN A TURTLES DREAM COMPILATION JUST DROPPED
Let your mom sleep bro
One of my favorite IASIP moments is Dennis' reaction when Mac says, "Better than bustin' a nut!" @ 16:51
Ha, Dennis looks at the customer first to see their reaction and then steps in.
It’s like he’s so surprised Mac is so stupid that he had to laugh.
I love how Mac is SO stupid, that Charlie ends up being a smarter, voice of reason with him. It's gold.
BTW... Yellow is a place. Amarillo, Texas. Which translates to... you guessed it. Yellow.
Is there a purple?
@@JassZoigelthere is a town in Cuba called Primero de Enero, but it used to have the name Violeta, which is Spanish for violet, a common shade of purple

I love pre-ripped mac. he was so much funnier than ripped and insecure mac
I agree but your comment made me realize his character has accomplished an ideal he'd set for himself in getting ripped and feels nothing for it sending him into a spiral. Maybe it's Mac's midlife crisis haha
I like pre ripped Mac just because he had more insecurities about himself where as ripped Mac is a bit more grounded.
@@bellzebub9863 On no planet is any version of Mac "more grounded."
Yeah current Mac’s over reliance on Dennis is kind of just annoying to me prefer max from earlier seasons

I love how there’s a running joke through this entire series about the gang not understanding the difference between actors and the characters and the characters they play. 😂
16 seasons and no Emmys, really??
9:18, a rare moment of self-reflection from mac.
3:13 Charlie’s reaction has me sobbing
The fact that a woman can walk into paddy’s pub, ask for a drink, and the entire interaction somehow ends with “what would you like to drink and we won’t jizz on anything”
"Not that he's ever had one"
I have been in real life bars that came remarkably close, including one where the bartender promised he wouldn't replace my hot dog with his penis
He’s in denial of every single aspect of his life

Dsmn charlie is lowkey smarter than mac. I never realised that
Depending on the scene lol
Keegan Michael key killed the family feud episode. It’s probably the quickest someone has become irritated with the gang and he does it on live tv
It's rare that someone manages to outshine the gang, but Key was just too funny!
That last clip was 🔥🔥🔥 the more they tried to explain it.. the worse it sounded.. war is a scam
I need you to know that most of your videos go on my panic attack playlist to make me laugh and calm me down
9:09 20 years go by, Charlie is identical, right down to the outfit 😂😂😂
I seen sunny so many times but turtles dream give it so much replay value !
Mac’s discussion with Dennis on faith and reason is hilarious. He pegs down the Christians argument perfectly. “So there’s no way to have a rational discussion with you?” “No”.
*the Hollywood version of Christians, yes
@@nthgth
Not sure what you mean by Hollywood version, but no, this is how Christian’s argue. They don’t sound quite as dumb, but it is still correct overall. They have fallacious logical reasoning and when their bad reasoning , or lack of evidence is pointed out, they revert to simply saying, “That’s why we need faith”. So it’s an impossible conversation.

That cancer cut was perfect. Better than the actual show my dude
18:30 "I cant tell if you're making fun of me right now."
"Oh?"
The acting in the interaction at 1:35 is outstanding. The acting is underated in this show.
The gang tries desperately to win in award has my favorite writing😂
I just watched a compilation of its always sunny, there isnt enough mac compilations ngl
the fact that this is 20+ minutes long speaks volumes
I love that Mac was clearly written as a case study of the dunning Kruger effect
I love how Dennis seems like he actually knows what he is talking about in the first clip, but he is also dead wrong. Being grounded is something you don't want when working with electricity. It means that the current can travel through your body and into the ground. The rubber handle of the screwdriver is isolating him, not grounding him.
It's important to be grounded when working on sensitive low volatge electronics, so you don't fry some components with static electricity on accident. Like certain clothing or carpets or rubbing a baloon in your air can produce a shock when you touch someone else or something conductive, like a door handle.
Macs face when Dennis tells him this guy bent himself over a barrel for our pleasure hahahahaha
Hands down greatest show ever.
The most constantly funny show over the past decade
"See, I have faith that what I'm saying makes sense."
unassailable; universally applicable; added to rhetorical armamentarium
It's one of those lines that just requires reference.
This video could be the entire series
I think my favorite is still "If you wanted chips, you could have got a bag at the hamburger store!"
