First saw them at South By Southwest in Austin in 1995. Snuck in the back of Emos with two friends and met Rick Devoe their manager. Later talked to Mark Tom and Rick after the show and told them they needed to come to Corpus Christi Texas a huge surf and skate town. We all listened to punk and watched surf and skate videos where the soundtrack was always punk in the early nineties. Six months later they came to my hometown with China Drum and Unwritten Law. It was fucking rad. I was only 14 years old.
excelente!!! gracias por subir este video y darnos la posibilidad de recordar al viejo blink.yo tenia 5 años en esa epoca...que nostalgia me dan los 90s
He never said this song in specific, Tom used to play way better back in the day but he stopped giving a fuck once blink got huge. He lost the hunger when it came to guitar but he became a much more refined songwriter as he got older.
Blinks version lacks the power, rawness and pure emotional wallop and angsty urgency that Weasel's version has... Here's a visual metaphor: imagine having a 350 lb Pit Bull that is a complete genetic freak...your friend loves it....he thinks it's the coolest dog ever so he goes out and buys one himself...only it's a 25 lb, emaciated, toothless, chihuahua...it runs around really fast and makes a fuckton of noise, but it's a sad, weak and annoyingly shrill imitation of the pit bull...that, my friends is Blink 182's version of this song...Blink 182 are The Backsteeet Boys of radio pop punk garbage....at one time (actually around the time this video was recorded even though they still shit on this song)...Dude Ranch and before...Blink was decent...but once Barker joined...they lost any credibility and just became puerile pop radio crap...had hopes Matt Skiba would bring some rawness in...nope...the opposite happened and A3's last album was shit-pop...

Shout out to Screeching Weasel, wouldn't have bands like blink without them.
How can they have such a good amateur recording in 1995 and not a single decent one of The Mark, Tom and Travis Show that was dropped in 1999?

I feel like Tom played better live back in the day, & later on he said fuck it. But now I’m AVA, he’s kicking ass on vocals.
This song is so fucking easy to play

Grrr....ruining one of the best Screeching Weasel songs ever...
I like blinks version better because of the speed
