I was playing around with the water bow. It's so strong using just 1 charge. Got it to grade 7 1/5. I just took down an 8 star Anjanath. Super good bow 😊
Yes you do lol. You aren't invincible it just reduces damage more than normal. Per the official rebalancing update itself: A perfect guard will now be possible with well-timed guarding against enemy attacks. A perfect guard reduces damage more than normal guarding and activates the Offensive Guard skill (this is also the case with lances).
As a lance main I’ve never taken damage with a perfect block. ( blue sparks) I just hunted a 8* Tobi and with perfect guard vs the big tail slam I took 0 damage. (Water attack 5 build with 1 level of guard if you are curious )
This coral event was so overwhelming for me a LBG player, first i needed to change my Armour meta to coral coil-Azure boots, wich was a double subespecies hunt, just to Start upgrading my sad good-for-nothing jagras 7.5 LBG to Coral. Finally i just ended with coral LBG 7.4 AND waiting for the next event to gather More Lvl 1 PIECES :c. At least Is an improvement from jagras.
Exact same for me. Ended with coral lbg at 7.4 but all I need are earth crystals to upgrade to 7.5 But fr fr, the real upgrade was getting a fire element level 5! For my Rathalos lbg. That thing cooks now.
Feel so good i hit this event hard, got my lbg to g8-4. Was gonna wait for future heavey bow to max a water, dragon, affinity but this 4 shot sticky i could not resist. For some reason niantic made sub monsters weapons stronger then others that is why im boosting my cpukei an zinogre lbg. Certain lbg dont need to be boosted to max honestly unless your up in rank an fighting 10 stars.
Just as I was getting good at killing Coral with my Poison GS it dissappears. But, I'll be ready for it next time around. I wasn't fortunate enough to get any weapons or armor because I kept getting 6* near me and my legiana bow is 1 R5 short of grade 6 and I kept running out of time on most kills with my G6.2 Datura Blaze. 😢
It’s all good! You aren’t really missing anything from it. With only 4 months water beats it’s still not going to cover as much as some other elements.
Unfortunatly i can't defeat 6* coral pukei pukeis, i can't get 6 grade coil and i'm a main Light Bow Gun user. I have a bone lbg at 7.5. With only recoil down 3 and reload 2 i could only bring It down to 20%, even starting with a special and firing a second one. It will take time to get pieces to grade 6 so I can use more offensive skills.

im glad with the coral pukei² on laguna coil.. since im an LBG master user.. that's a MUST for me..

Coral bow carried me from early game to mid game where now i have most of the good bows built except bblos (i started 1wk ago)
thats awesome! Yeah if you can get subspecies weapons early on they'll do work in the early game.

It’s definitely worth. I’m sold on building Coral and Deviljho LBGs. But I’m not going to go as hard as I did Blos and get it to G10 lol.

Oh it’s totally coming back! With better spawns versus this time around. You’ll definitely be more prepared too.
A bit too lose for me, I went for the hat and coil armour. It works wonders with my bowgun😊😊😊.
Would be nice to get some, i beat 4 and that was it. This world change has messed everything up for non spoofers. Sad really.

Is there a reason why the cpp lbg sticky ammo has a slow reload time?
Because you got 4 sticky shots instead of 2
It's hard to readjust the timing, but soooo satisfying! specially when you come from Jagras LBG

Does anyone know if WEX applies to elemental damage, or is it just raw?
WEX and crit in general apply to both elemental and raw.

It’s not that bad. Sticky is the most damaging type in the game. It’s insane that it does that much more damage versus spread.
