Kiss, often written as KISS, was a rock band from New York City that started in 1973. The members were Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley, and Peter Criss. They were famous for wearing face paint and costumes on stage. Their concerts in the mid-1970s were known for exciting acts like breathing fire, spitting blood, guitars that smoked, rockets, flying drum kits, and lots of fireworks. Over the years, some band members changed, but Stanley and Simmons were always part of the group. The last lineup included them, along with Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer.

I suddenly remembered what made me like KISS so much.
This cover, not just cause its a Ramones cover because the song actually means something. And them covering this is amazing i think.

really great cover one of the best on the tribute album; all the critics agreed. as for the sax, it gives this old fashioned flavour which you can find in the original with the little piano. dont forget it's talking about old music on radio congrats to gene and paul on this one
also BTW Scott Paige from Pink Floyd did the sax for this song.

The KISS cover doesn't capture the essence of the original and feels more like loud noises and screaming. Which is unfortunate; it's easy to see why KISS would be asked to do this song. But if KISS couldn't then could anyone?

Because they are a marketing machine and not a real band. They are terrible musicians and just because they've had hits don't make them good songwriters (they suck at that too).

I love this. Rock and Roll radio isn't exactly a "simple" song, so I'm impressed that Kiss was able to pull off a good cover of it.
I mean, of course it doesn't sound exactly like the Ramones =/ this is a different band.
But above all else, this proves that Kiss likes the Ramones =)

Both bands are great. But one is greater. If you're wondering which one is greater, I'll just leave you with this: KISS is paying tribute to the Ramones, not the other way around. Ramones > KISS.
I agree the Ramones are the best, but in fairness, the Ramones couldn't play any KISS song if they wanted, lol. Johnny was no Ace. (for the record, he was BETTER, but certainly not better in a conventional sense, know what I mean?)

I love KISS but no one comes close to the Ramones.
How many gold records do they have. Pretty sure it's 1. No platinum album's. Ramones are a good band. But they don't even come close to KISS. They have maybe 6 good songs. KISS made this song 1000x better.

In reality, both Kiss and the Ramones came out of the same music scene in NY at the time. Thay went to the same clubs, and they were aware of each other before either band was signed. So, in my opinion, this is very apropo.
