    Would love to see a video on the ideal apparent field of view (AFOV) and parameters (e.g., exit pupil size, eye relief) that reduce binocular blackouts. I believe that too large an AFOV could cause a user to have a greater likelihood of experiencing blackouts.

    Does the exit pupil also indicate how easy it is to see thru the bino? Some bino's seem like they are more work to see thru, aligning them on my face is more
    difficult.
    Or is the exit pupil strictly an indication of the amount of light, and the bino's effectiveness in low light situations?

    Explanation was so clear and so helpful for me to buy the right binoculars for my daughter who's PE subject in school this year is bird watching. It was advised for us to buy the 8X32, however the only available units are the 7x50 and 10x50. So now I know that i can buy the less expensive 7x50 binoculars for the purpose. Thank you (well at least i think i got it right) Did I?

      7x50 might be too heavy for a kid to hold steady for longer observations. BTW I think it's awesome, that bird watching is a part of the PE's program in that school.

    A larger exit pupil is easier to line up to your eye. Especially in a moving boat or car.

    Effective aperture also will make small differences to the exit pupil

    When are you guys going to come out with a 8x500? I have very large pupils. A 62mm exit pupil just might be enough

    "Low Vision" monoculars are marketed and sold to people with visual impairments. Most of them have small exit pupils of 3 mm or so. Common ones are 3x9 4x12 6x16 or 8x20. I find a 3 mm or less exit pupil is terrible for low light conditions. Don't manufactures realise that people with visual impairments often need more light than the average person does to see well.... Low vision monoculars differ from regular ones because they have close focus ability. (down to 12 inches or so.)

    When using binoculars in the night sky, the smaller exit pupil like 2.5mm will make the image dimmer compared to 5mm exit pupil gives brighter image?

      Exactly! Our pupils dilate to around 5mm in low light, so we want that exit pupil to be at least 5mm when using binoculars.

    The problem is new technology now has a massive impact on this calculation. For instance The Swarovski EL 8x32 have a brighter and sharper view than most other companies 8x42 or above. You pay for this technology, they are far from cheap but you do get what you pay for.

    What's the max effectiveness of exit pupil. for example let's say 20mm is overkill or not?

      Παράγοντας Χ Most peoples' pupils will not dilate past 6 or 8 millimeters, so anything beyond that doesn't make much of an impact.

      I'm looking to get either a pair with 2.1 mm or another one (more expensive) at 17.1 mm . Not really sure which to get.
