  • This is our 1969 Buick Skylark Custom. The Skylark has been in my family since 1988 and has been in storage since 2006 and in this episode, the Skylark gets registered and tagged for the first time in 17 years.
    Watch me drive it home on some super sketchy, old tires.

      Thank you.
      Hoping to throw some paint on the fender, trunk and hood to clean it up.

      i would have liked to have the cutlass on the road by now but the storage unit move and getting the skylark out of the unit, it kind of put the brakes on the Olds.

    Sweet Skylark, had a brown 70 skylark convertible once. And wish I lived closer to Testa’s BODY Shop.

    Also it sounds good with the two barrels. My 79 351 w has that. I have the dual exhaust also and I was thinking about changing over to the four barrel but after 5 or 6 years of having a car I still have the two barrel it runs good starts up every time even in the cold Michigan weather. For the record, I do have a older GM car.

      It does have a good sound when you step on it however it needs an accelerator pump.
      I going to leave it a 2 for now but I do have a 4 bbl intake for it at home.
      Idk 2 bbls seem ok around town but it really lacks on the highway.
      I guess it all depends on what you are looking for.

    The 68-69 skylark trans crossmembers tending to rust out

    • @UsefulEntertainment
      @UsefulEntertainment  Před 10 měsíci +1

      That already happened to this car 30 years ago...
      It's because Buick uses a rubber pad between the cross member and the frame.
      The one in it now came out of a 69 Cutlass because Olds doesn't didn't use the padding.

    Is it a buick engine? If so what one? 455?

    • @UsefulEntertainment
      @UsefulEntertainment  Před 10 měsíci

      Yep, it's a Buick motor but no, it's a 350.

      @@UsefulEntertainment Oh cool I used to actually have one of those it's very short and wide people used to jokingly call it a 350 big block LOL, Very familiar with it I think I rebuilt it back when I was 16 and now my brother has it in his car. If I remember correctly they're very unique engines internally I remember the pistons having a little nipple in the center of them not sure why but I'm assuming it's for compression or combustion.
