Nevermind - It DID work. I assumed since I saw the _ts folders when I opened the disc on my computer that it didn't work. But since I knew I followed the steps correctly I tried it in my DVD player anyway and it worked just fine! DVD+R do work with these steps. Thank You shrocky2!! I went through about 5 discs trying things on my own, you made it very easy.

Can you help me out?A family member made a dvd of her party and I used DvdCrypter to put it on my computer.Then I converted it to an AVI format to edit with movie maker,but the audio of the party is slower than the video.Like,she dances before the music starts when that actually didn't happen.Any clue how to fix that?

Hi! I followed everything you say to do to complete a movie decrypt and shrink so that you can burn on to a blank DVD R. When I decrypt and the process and is saved on the desktop, the icon is white with a green arrow instead of a dvd, making it impossible to right click and burn. I am not computer savvy and don't know what I need to do. Will you help?Nancy
What do I do if the dvd disc has 8gb of content, but my disc only holds 4.7gb. Is there any way to use two 4.7gb dvr disc for one 8gb dvd movie. I'd really like to avoid having to buy new double layer disc if possible. thx
If my file size is only 1 layer and the size is under 4 ....bytes do I have to use DVD shrink? Can I just decrypt and then just burn the dvd with my pre-installed software on my computer? I hope this makes sense. Thanks!!
Hi, I decrypted a DVD but when I tried to copy it on Roxie it still states:"The disc you are trying to copy is copy protected. A copy of this disc cannot be performed". The size is under 4.5 so I don't know what to do next. Please help?
Awesome.. You made it sooo easy.. Thank you.. My first file is/was over 7,000. When I moved it over to shirnk, the main file was only 4463 after I unchecked all subtitles and extras. It still only gave me 80.1 percent. I am sure it will work. I always use ConvertXtoDVD when burning. It really works well. Again.. Thank you so much for making it so easy and uncomplicated.
when you decrypt and use dvd shrink and burn it. do it burn it as a VTS_.VOB , can you saved it to be only 1 file like mp4, or avi, or flv ? or does it have to be in many files ? can you explain how to take many vts files and make them in to 1 file ? any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Thank you for a great and clear instructions! I have a question relating to DVDShrink. I used it to backup a dvd and what happened is that the output .vob files have a text overlay of the file name at the beginning of the file. I looked everywhere in the preferences but could not find if that was an option that I can turn off. I googled the subject but did not find any references. Do you have any idea why this is so, and if and how I can either remove the text overlay from the shrinked dvd? I am using vlc player to view the video.

Hi Steve. I had a couple of quetions regarding dvd decrypter; What is the difference between ISO and IFO modes on this program? I've seen other videos advising to use IFO instead of ISO. Also....is it possible to take off the subtitles and others languages on dvd crypter, before decrypter the movie dvd?
ISO will create one file on your computer that contains the entire DVD contents. I believe the IFO mode will create a couple folders that contain the entire DVD files. If you’re just copying a DVD, it’s easier to use ISO mode. To remove the subtitles and foreign language tracks, do that in DVD Shrink. That’s is the purpose of that program. DVD Decrypter is used to break the copy protection and copy the disc to your computer.
Using win7 64 bit without any error message box like the video showed, DVD Decrypter says "successfully completed". When trying to open the ISO in DVD Shrink as suggested "create disc image" I get an error message saying, "DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue, failed to read .ISO file, the parameter is incorrect". The ISO file was assigned to a folder in a brand new WD smartware external drive.

@shrocky2 I didn't use my computer while it was processing the shrink and its not the blank DVD-R, not to mention I tried to use the decrypter with 1clickdvdcopy5 and didn't do anything. Would handbreak work better then dvd decrypter?
I had the error "a required privilege is not held." I was trying to "read" it get an ISO. I noticed by switching to my "C: Drive" it worked. Whereas before I had "E: drive" selected

But that may still not take care of the PAL format issue, correct? I found this other thread, Media Guides and Services, The digital FAQ's "How to convert PAL... but the process failed or I'm clearly misunderstanding. I didn't want to edit anything so at first I skipped the editing in steps 3 and 4. However, Virtual Dub could not open the MPEG-2 file. Even when I did edit, the files could still not be opened. any ideas?
We decrypted and shrank it, and went to print it with windows like you said, but it says medium not found. We are using a DVD-R Maxell w/ 4.7 GB. Any ideas what the problem is?
I may have asked this question to you before so it may be a double, but in dvd fab if the trial expires, you can only use the hd decrypter? I think if you use this one then you must use dual layer dvds and cannot select dvd 5.

I just began using DVD shrink and am experiencing a problem, Why are all my ISO files being broken down into 3 separate files? It's a one hour episode of The Wire, and it ends up being split into 3 files. What do I do to remedy this problem?
@WickedKnight07 Wait a minute you mean the blank discs for media right? You said that you use DVD-R and you dont get any glitches right? I used DVD+R so I did use the wrong type of media.
I used to use dvd43 but now have windows 7 64 bit and it no longer works. So I tried the dvd decrypter program you suggested, but this is so much slower than dvd3 I already paid for 1 click dvd but can't use it without a decrypter. Is there a shorter way without copying the movie to the c drive that seems like over kill when I only want to do a direct copy. Is there something easier thanks

I have a problem When I try to decrypt a Godzilla movie only the first three vids of it are in english dubbed while the last 3 vids of the movie are japanese dubbed I tried streaming to change the language but the language isn't listed and when I try selecting any one of them individually or together all the vids are in japanese dub any help??

I think with the newest dvd fab 9.0.7.2. You can't use hd decrypter after it expires. Do you know if you can, i tried clicking on everything and i can't find the option for hd decrypter, not with the newest dvd fab.

Can't seem to get it right. I can get as far as decrypter, but then when I try to pull it up with Shrink the computer can't find the ISO file to start using it. But I know it saved it after Decrypter. I am running Windows 7. Is there any special way to save it that will help? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Good Vid, clear instructions but one thing confuses me lots. Why do you use DVD decrypter at all when DVD shrink will decrypt the DVD? Im currently trying to copy a TV box set (bit more complex than a movie i think) and all im doing it scanning a disc on shrink, saving it as you described (thanks!) then burning it with whatever software. When I scan with DVD decrypt it comes up with 'number of layers 2', i understand what this is but what are its copying implications?
I have vista...but when I click on the iso file on desktop there is no option for Burn Disc. My says to Burn Using DVD Decrypter and cant burn from there
I'm getting an error code that won't allow me to complete the "read" process. (I'm copying a copy, so not a protection issue) It's a "read error" that it retries over and over and over (40+ times) and then just says is can't complete. I successfully copies a DVD earlier (same brand and size) no I'm REALLLLY frustrated to be stuck! HELP!

it worked for my first dvd, then i try again and i get "interface Thread Runtime exception! Message= EAccess violation" on the DVD decrypter ? i have tried reinstalling but same thing. probably something simple but how can i get this thing working again ?
hey shrocky, i read on another board that most dvds made after 08 can not be copied even with any dvd. I found this is also the case with me. Most made after 08 won't work even with dvd decryter and any dvd and especially the disney dvds. Can you offer any other suggestions on how to copy these dvds?
I already know how to burn and copy actual DVD movies using these programs. Someone showed me how to use these programs a long time ago. A lot of my movies that I have now are actually copies of DVD movies that I either bought or rented from Blockbuster. My movie collection is huge now. I just need some new movies. But these programs are great.

what is the difference in quality if i just copy the .vob file from the dvd itself and paste it on my pc?

@TheBlamedSaints Change the "save to" option. Your saving it on your drive, change it to desktop or some other location. Hope this helps

instead of creating an ISO file mine created a I00, I01 and a MDS file..?? I was saving it to an external hard drive

Is this like an exact copy of the dvd? For example if I put the copy in will I see all the previews and main menu? Thanks

i have a question. so i think i used dvd img before and i made a copy of the dvd but they put it in folders. the have like audio and video folder. is there a way to convert the files into a ISO file.

But that may still not take care of the PAL format issue, correct? I found this other thread, Media Guides and Services, The digital FAQ's "How to convert PAL... but the process failed or I'm clearly misunderstanding. I didn't want to edit anything so at first I skipped the editing in steps 3 and 4. However, Virtual Dub could not open the MPEG-2 file. Even when I did edit, the files could still not be opened. any ideas?
We decrypted and shrank it, and went to print it with windows like you said, but it says medium not found. We are using a DVD-R Maxell w/ 4.7 GB. Any ideas what the problem is?
I may have asked this question to you before so it may be a double, but in dvd fab if the trial expires, you can only use the hd decrypter? I think if you use this one then you must use dual layer dvds and cannot select dvd 5.
hey shrocky ... have another problem I used the programs your recommended on a dvd and after I used handbreak to make it a single file it only plays as an audio ...do you know what I ca do to make the vide show?
I just began using DVD shrink and am experiencing a problem, Why are all my ISO files being broken down into 3 separate files? It's a one hour episode of The Wire, and it ends up being split into 3 files. What do I do to remedy this problem?
@WickedKnight07 Wait a minute you mean the blank discs for media right? You said that you use DVD-R and you dont get any glitches right? I used DVD+R so I did use the wrong type of media.
I used to use dvd43 but now have windows 7 64 bit and it no longer works. So I tried the dvd decrypter program you suggested, but this is so much slower than dvd3 I already paid for 1 click dvd but can't use it without a decrypter. Is there a shorter way without copying the movie to the c drive that seems like over kill when I only want to do a direct copy. Is there something easier

ok cheers, iv started getting an error message on my dvd shrink, sayin failed to read file E, data error, its a new disk, iv also tryed cleaning it ect.. do u no wot could be the problem?

@shrocky2 Okay, yeah, I decided to just do it your way and then at 5% done putting the iso on my computer, there was an error. And it just.. won't work. It's a dual layered DVD and I'm trying to put it onto my computer, then into a single layered DVD. How do I do this?
im having problems using it. i try using it but it only gets like halfway during the dvd decrypter and then its like my dvd drive goes silent and stops reading the disc. its weird idk :(
I have followed your instructions step by step and I get stuck @4:00. When I right click, there is no "burn disc image". I've trued nero but it keeps making another iso image. please help.
I have a problem When I try to decrypt a Godzilla movie only the first three vids of it are in english dubbed while the last 3 vids of the movie are japanese dubbed
I tried streaming to change the language but the language isn't listed and when I try selecting any one of them individually or together all the vids are in japanese dub any help??

Can I use DVD Decrypter to write the ISO file, or is there another freeware you recommend?
for some reason everytime i try to find the file it doesnt exist. the video content exists but when i use the browser on this program to look for it it isnt there, any suggestions?
I think with the newest dvd fab 9.0.7.2. You can't use hd decrypter after it expires. Do you know if you can, i tried clicking on everything and i can't find the option for hd decrypter, not with the newest dvd fab.

Can't seem to get it right. I can get as far as decrypter, but then when I try to pull it up with Shrink the computer can't find the ISO file to start using it. But I know it saved it after Decrypter. I am running Windows 7. Is there any special way to save it that will help? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have about 30 dvd's to burn before the New Year when I have to give them out.
Good Vid, clear instructions but one thing confuses me lots. Why do you use DVD decrypter at all when DVD shrink will decrypt the DVD? Im currently trying to copy a TV box set (bit more complex than a movie i think) and all im doing it scanning a disc on shrink, saving it as you described (thanks!) then burning it with whatever software. When I scan with DVD decrypt it comes up with 'number of layers 2', i understand what this is but what are its copying implications?
does the copy protection program on the dvd be removed permanently once i use the dvd derypter?
I have vista...but when I click on the iso file on desktop there is no option for Burn Disc. My says to Burn Using DVD Decrypter and cant burn from there
I'm getting an error code that won't allow me to complete the "read" process. (I'm copying a copy, so not a protection issue) It's a "read error" that it retries over and over and over (40+ times) and then just says is can't complete. I successfully copies a DVD earlier (same brand and size) no I'm REALLLLY frustrated to be stuck! HELP!
hey shrocky do you know of another program besides anydvd or dvd fab to break copy protection if dvd shrink and dvd decrypter won't work. my trial period ran out on both of those programs.
everything worked fine up until i right clicked to burn the disk do not have that option is there some other way to get windows media to burn this or do i still have to go get nero or roxio now? What is link for the other one you mentioned in video. Thanks for all the help.
it worked for my first dvd, then i try again and i get "interface Thread Runtime exception! Message= EAccess violation" on the DVD decrypter ? i have tried reinstalling but same thing. probably something simple but how can i get this thing working again ?
hey shrocky, i read on another board that most dvds made after 08 can not be copied even with any dvd. I found this is also the case with me. Most made after 08 won't work even with dvd decryter and any dvd and especially the disney dvds. Can you offer any other suggestions on how to copy these dvds?

I already know how to burn and copy actual DVD movies using these programs. Someone showed me how to use these programs a long time ago. A lot of my movies that I have now are actually copies of DVD movies that I either bought or rented from Blockbuster. My movie collection is huge now. I just need some new movies. But these programs are great.
