    I compared the Orbi 850 Wifi 6 Wireless Backhaul to the Orbi 970 Wifi 7 Wireless Backhaul here: czcams.com/video/p53-l4HzyyA/video.html - got improved speeds!

      AX6000 Tri-Band WiFi : 2.4GHz (1200Mbps†) + 5GHz (2400Mbps†) for WiFi devices to connect to the Internet. 2.4 Gbps (1200Mbps†) dedicated WiFi link for faster data connections between Orbi Router and Orbi Satellite

      @@TheChanClanLife this product is way overpriced and not even a true 10 Gbps experience. The satellites only have three ports, and only one of them is 10 Gbps. Considering how expensive this is it’s really appalling that Netgear cheap out and Nerf the satellites that are $900 extra per add-on! I think I’m gonna go with the BE95 from TP-Link because they didn’t Nerf the satellites.

      @TheChanClanLife Your crazy! I will wait for eero max 7, because I know they work the way they are supposed to. I tried TP-LINK BE85 and couldn't get 2.5gig on a wired connection with cat8 cable. Also could not 2.4gig wirelessly. The most speed I got wirelessly with TP-LINK BE85 on 6E was 500mb. My eero pro 6E I get 1.6gig wirelessly.

      Dude, they literally locked DDNS behind a pay wall. I’ll never buy an Amazon WiFi system product because of that. there’s far better options for Wi-Fi seven that don’t pay key features. I don’t mind paying certain things, but features on a flagship expensive purchase, just no.

    house built in 2019, had it built with cat 6 throughout the house and the node is in my driveway. I have the 850's and have ATT fiber gigabit (in passthrough). Nothing else is available here. Latency is 4-7ms. already with 972 up/down avg. Not sure why I would need an upgrade if I wouldn't get a bump in speed or latency, especially at $2300.

      If you have new WiFi devices, like IPHone 15, Samsung Galaxy, and newer windows notebooks taht support WiFi 6E (6ghz band)... then you will get a boost from Orbi 850 to Orbi 960, since your 850 only supports 5Ghz, but the 970 supports 6Ghz. So you can get that Gigabit to your iPhone now (Before, your speed test probably maxes out at like 700Mbps, right?)

    Netgear likes to tout a wired backplane but I noticed that there was no mention of how to do this if you have 2 satellites. I guess one has to be wired and the other wireless?
    I've ordered the 2 pack to replace a RAX120 WiFi 6 router with a AX6000 WiFi 6 extender. I've had issues with devices seeing each other that are not on the same WiFi device. And I have to regularly reboot the extender.
    The Orbi 970 will allow me to do a wired backplane in a true mesh configuration which should eliminate all of my current issues.

    • @henrydav
      @henrydav Před 11 měsíci +1

      You can wire them both. The Orbi 970 comes with 10Gig LAN, and 4 2.5Gig LAN. So connect as many satellites wired as you want. Or go wireless

    • @henrydav
      @henrydav Před 11 měsíci

      Correct, this is what we call "enhanced dedicated backhaul"... using the 6Ghz to supplement the dedicated 5Ghz backhaul... makes it even faster. That's a big difference between 960 and 970

  • @karlsenior1030
    @karlsenior1030 Před 11 měsíci +1

    Yes, it is expensive, but that is the price you pay for new technology and being an early adopter. However, what I find unacceptable and downright CHEAP! is Netgear downgrading the satellites ethernet ports to only three, from the previous generations four. Why could you not just have four (4) 2.5G ports, instead of one 10g and two(2) 2.5G. This is infuriating. Also, you are telling me that I have to pay for parental control feature. I can although not customer friendly tolerate having to pay for "Armour" but charging for parental Control features is downright sad and appalling. Cone on Netgear, you make good products, don't cheap out on what is suppose to be your professional line of products. great review, you got a new subscriber from it.

    • @Starwarsgames66
      @Starwarsgames66 Před 10 měsíci +2

      Winner winner!!! I said the same damn thing! It’s deplorable and downright insulting that the satellites don’t have at least 2 10 gig ports for wired backhaul and a 10 gig LAN. It’s not like they have to worry about margins. This product is so overpriced for what they included..
