- From writer Tracy Oliver (Girls Trip), Harlem is a new comedy following a group of stylish and ambitious best girlfriends in Harlem NYC, the mecca of Black culture in America. Camille is a popular young anthropology professor at Columbia with extensive knowledge of the dating norms of many cultures, but has a hard time navigating her own love life; Tye is a successful, queer dating app creator who prefers keeping vulnerability-and romantic partners-at arm’s length; Quinn is a hopeless romantic and trust fund fashion designer who is trying to give back to the world while running a struggling business; Angie is a confident, vibrant, and filter-free singer and actress who also lives rent-free and fabulously with Quinn. Together, they level up from their 20s into the next phase of their careers, relationships, and big city dreams.

Issa Started A Wave with Insecure And I'm here for it
Ummm you forget about Girlfriends?
Living single?????
'Run the world' ?
Started?
They said what they said. Those shows listed above are a decade plus older than insecure
This is WHAT I AM HERE FOR: multiple shows with multi-dimensional black girls, Run The World, Insecure, Sista's, Queens and NOW Harlem: I am here for it ALL!!!!!!
Yes !!! Black girl magic
And Twenties
GIRL YESS EXACTLY I love all these shows with black women leads. Black Girl Magic🧚🏿♀️
EXACTLY!
Don’t forget “I May Destroy You” truly brilliant
LISTENNNN! This show is the TRUTH. It’s so good! I already binged watched season 1, and I am ready for season 2!!!
You should try Run The World. It’s very good (I feel like they are similar)
GIRRRLLL SAME
@@onlyh8720 what's that show about?
@@AfricanGirl run the world is about 4 black women navigating their careers and love life in Harlem. They are also friends, so the same thing as Harlem
Same can't wait for season 2
I see Black female tv is in now, I love it. Just make sure it isn’t centered around men
There's a look lesbian in there
Say it louder for the people in the back!
Didn't Starz just have a similar show ? 🧐
What else should it center on?
@@i_amcici7168 and Tyler Perry's sistas,
The second season is going to be AMAZING. The first season was hilarious, with an unsuspected amount of depth and emotion with enviable friendships. I can't wait for the next season. I'm excited.
Even though this is a very similar plot line to a lot of black shows right now I will give it a chance as long as these women are playing their ages and not some twenty something year olds.
Yeah starz has a similar show called run the world which is also very good and takes place in harlem
I agree. There are several Black female led TV shows that are reminiscent of Insecure. Starz has Run the World, BET+ has Bigger and Twenties, both of which are really good shows. With Insecure in its final season, I hope there will be more TV/flim projects with Black women at the helm to pick up where Insecure leaves off. I, too, will give Harlem a chance. The cast alone is impressive.
@@Dop3ritrean lol I literally just said run the world
@@missmarionlewis You did! I meant to tag you but failed to, my fault. lol!
I was thinking 🤔 how old are these ladies suppose to be? Meagan looks young and all but I hope she is not playing a 20 or early 30s something year old. 🙄
I’m reading the comments and I hate when y’all compare shows, like there can’t be multiple shows about black girlfriends. No, it isn’t Run the World. HARLEM was in development a year or so before Run the World premiered on STARZ.
Now you knew folks were going to compare this to Run the World because the vibes are similar and the city is the SAME…I have room to watch both and this looks better than Run the World to me (which I liked overall, but something didn’t flow for me as well). The general public typically has no idea which show concept was created/pushed first 🤷🏽♀️
@@alexisfuller731 That’s not the point. Y’all act like we can’t have multiple shows about friends in the same city. White people do it all the time. Seinfeld, Friends, Will & Grace, etc.… Hell, for us Living Single was set in Brooklyn in Prospect Park, so what’s your point? Nothing is new under the sun so why can’t we have multiple shows about friends?
I’m glad there are finally multiple shows with black women leads! I will be watching Harlem.
@@toshspice Same here.
@@CeliniacForLife Then they wonder why shows get cancelled after 1 season.
As a graphic designer I am loving the fonts and colours in the graphics
yesss same
This is what Tyler Perry wishes his shows could be. Dimensional characters!
👀
Chux say that now his shows can never be that because why he doesn’t want to open up he wants to stay the same and sometimes you have to open your mind an your heart♥️
Gross that talentless hack can take a flying leap lol
Tyler Perry gave us Black Panther.
At least Tyler Perry has created thousands of jobs for African Americans and invested in his hometown while giving new & old actors opportunities to act in plays and movies that White America in hollywood could care less to cast.
The show isn’t bad. My issue with this show is the same one I have for all the others including Insecure. They represent a certain type of black woman. Out of like 5 shows by now…you would think more black women would get representation. I don’t know if it is differences in generation but I’m closer to Megan’s age and still feel like our age group is not properly represented. I think it’s fine to have shows fir 20s and 30s. But what about black women in their 40s. We aren’t dead yet. I’m thinking if creating something for us since I’m a writer. Also, everybody isn’t from LA or NY …so there is no representation on that end either. LA and NY has its own thing that no one else can relate to. I’m black but I don’t really relate to these other black women because I’m not living the LA or NY lifestyle. But yeah…I’m writing some things myself to show a bit more representation…not saying it will turn into anything but I have to try.
Looking forward to your forty-something project. There’s DEFINITELY a void in the space.
You need to put your money up and create the show you wanna see. Be the changing factor that you wanna see. Don’t critique ppl that’s accomplishing stuff.
Disgusting movie. Degrading Black heterosexual men as usual.
What you want to do sounds awesome. I am in my 40s and live in the UK. I would love to watch it, I don't always relate to these NY 20 somethings either.
I feel the same way and saw a tweet with a similar critique. That's why PVALLEY was good! It was such a dynamic cast and storylines that showcased the black experience in such a different dimension but was still quality tv. I think it's great we have more tv shows with black women but let's change the stories up a little bit.
edit- I'm 24 which is what these shows target but I'm tired of the same show different network lol
I’m excited! So happy to see Meagan Good lead another show.
Where can I watch or download this movie
The musical numbers are funny, well-written, well-executed, and well-performed. Get Out, the musical, could be profound and hilarious. The rehearsals are the most entertaining part of the series so far.
I'm a man and in love with this show! Angie's killing me with laughter! I hope there will be more seasons.
exactly. me 2
If u love this piece of crap show then u must mean "I'm a gay man and in love with this show" Its garbage.
@@miket7281 exactly, just watching this trailer shows the misandry against men. what a load of bs and social experiment.
I just finished season one. Absolutely amazing. Can't wait for season 2. Wonderful. Thank you to all involved for the good of laughter and story.
Yes can't wait! Been looking for a show like this since Gabrielle Union's series.
Just binged all 10 episodes. Thoroughly entertained. Was drawn to the show by the Meagan Goode and the Tyler Lepley. The chemistry between em was off the charts. I also really enjoyed tye(sha). She really brought it. Can’t wait for season 2
I’d like to see a show about MARRIED black women but this one was good.
Or Black women without so many stupid issues....
Thank you! I'm kind of over the whole super independent woman who is a boss but struggles with healthy relationships. Black women can have healthy strong marriages.
@@djredd1225 Amen to that!
A Megan Good and Robert Ri'chard REUNION!?!?!!!! And the LEGENDARY Whoopi Goldberg...So here for this !
I was definitely hoping to find another cousin skeeter fan in the comments!
I feel like this role, for Megan Goode, emphasizes her acting over just her looks, and I'm here for it.
As a Harlemite, I do not see much of the neighborhood as the series title would lead to believe. Harlem is used just as a backdrop.
Idk anything about New York and that was my first thought
Harlem seems like a nice place for me to walk at night with my buddies while wearing some tight purple trousers.❤
Keep watching. Despite its tropes and a shaky first few episodes, this show has some depth, delivers important messages, and raises thought-provoking topics other shows of its genre don’t address. There’s value here.
Ok I'll keep watching but for now, Angie is on my nerves, big time...
@@dfcart01: Mine too. 😐
Fr fr
I was like ugh we go the ghetto over wait black girl sleeping on her friends couch trope again. But other than that I'm starting to love it.
Loved the show but it really bothered me that the girls sometimes act like they dont care about anyone but themselves. Like when Camille pursues a soon to be married man in front of his gf plus she also has a bf. Or Quinn who straight up ask a women on a date while she also has a BF and just started to get involved in his kid life too. Makes it hard too root for them😏
Saw this as an ad for another video. Had to find the video so that I could comment. YAAAAAAAS
SAMEE I can’t wait to watchh
i love this show so much, that i put some new forgis on the jeep and trapped until the, bloody bottoms were underneath
I enjoyed this show…. Hope there’s a season 2!
I hope we are getting a season 2 cause the way it needed. Y’all can’t leave us hanging like that
Right
Been bummed Insecure is ending, I hope this is as good. Trailer looks great so fingers crossed 🤞
I'm binge watching it as we speak.. three episodes in.. I love it congrats ladies 🎉👏🎉👏🎉
Soo good!
Let’s call this one “Secure”.
I look forward to watching this show!!! I really hope that they show the black culture scene in Harlem because it is amazing❤️💛💜
Me too
Mannnn, this show is a modern day "GIRLFRIENDS", or "INSECURE".... the actresses are phenomenal, it's quality filming, beautifully written, and hunny, I'm here for all those fine men on the show too! I watched and am in love again!
This looks like my new favorite show!
I am ALMOST not mad that Amazon tricked me into accidentally getting prime by sneakily positioning the join prime button on the confirm order page. 🤨
Lol same thing happened to me I was so mad they tricked me into signing up for prime before I placed my order. I've since cancelled the subscription. 😂😂
OMG!!!! Can’t get enough…. hurry season 2!!!
One of my favs 2021! We need season 2!!
I love black TV so I'll watch this AND run the world
This was actually good. Didn't know about the series until i saw an article about the "booty" episode and they were bashing the show. So i decided to take a look and was super happy I did! There are some really funny moments especially with Angie!! love her!
Loving this show 😍 and I just be cracking up keep the seasons coming.
Cool, we've got a backup version in case Run the World doesn't make it back for a second season.
It got renewed!!!
@@JaiProdz thank God I can watch both
That's pathetic
This show was so amazing I called Tracy Oliver to thank her.
run the world vibes but I'm still here for it
I said this too.. Im gonna give it a try though.. I hope its good.. 😊
That's what it's giving!
Binge watched it. It’s amazing work! Really enjoyed ❤️
With Insecure ending, I need this!
This is actually good. Better than what the trailer gave out tbh 😌
Honesty is the best policy.
I love the show but it kinda bothered me that non of the actors or actresses are from Harlem.
I love this show I need them to drop season two right now
Drop it where? Toledo?
I think its important to try to watch the show without comparing it to other shows that may appear similar. These characters and storylines are different, black women's stories are not a monolith. Friendship and sisterhood are important elements in black female culture, I believe in celebrating that. 🤗
Be leary of individuals across the entertainment industry who shout & use the name of a neighborhood for clout or to gain respect as well as their own capital gain but do nothing to help or invest in the neighborhood so that it can become a safer community that offers our youth, adults & seniors opportunities to build up the community.
this right here. like these actors and showrunners just use the city and leave
Obsessed with this show. Green light more seasons!!
This was really good I loved it. Just wish Amazon will put out multiple of seasons instead of just one.
Shout out to my Sister we proud of you over here. Welcome Jerrie Johnson to the stage yall.
!!!!
This was so good. I cant wait till season 2 😊
I went to Angel of Harlem but they were closed due to them filming, I was so annoyed then Meagan Good walked passed me lmaoo..needless to say I finessed a way to staff to get the name of the show lol.. Glad to finally see it's coming out, hope it's good!
I love Angel of Harlem!
This seems a lot like that show Run the World…
What network is Run the World on?
Both shows are created by black women who lived in Harlem telling stories about friends and things they experienced... Harlem is pretty small so similarities are inevitable
And prob better too
@@DAREECEJORDAN crossover event! I think I saw a sketch like this on Black Lady Sketch Show 😂😂
@@phillyman2837 Starz. It's Good, quick watch 9 episodes
Love love love..just binged watch season 1 , ready for season 2.
This show isn't getting a 2nd season
I'll give this show a try cause of Whoopi Goldberg and Megan Good
Im watching only because of grace she killed her role in empire playing the villain it's cool to see she's playing a down to earth businesswoman here!!!!
Yesss Whoopi the EGOT legend🤩👸🏿. All I see black excellence, I am hooked💉💉.
1.4million views but only 41 comments
Best series ❤❤
My wife and I have watched season 1. Absolutely loved it. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Bring on season 2!
Loveeedd it! So ready for season 2!
So excited to watch this!!
Another production that doesn't show gorgeous dark skinned women
I actually enjoyed it. As well as the soundtrack. Excited and ready for season 2!
Soundtrack was 🔥
I just saw them film a scene with Meagan Good when I got to Harlem today!
I love this show...Very informative yet funny as hell...
I'm already half-way through episode 7. Love this show! Sooo funny!! 💗😂💗
Me and my female best friend lookin for a new show to watch 😂
Why they come for my name like that?! 😭🤣 Shayyyyla!
A strong BLACK WOMAN that knows who she is and what she is, don't lay with woman and flop around with men and she has a strong connection with God. This is just my opinion as a black woman and I don't disrespect myself and other women by calling them the B-word, N-word, and any other words that would be degrading and disrespectful as oneself of being a BLACK WOMAN. My opinion, so I won't be watching this show or any other show that is degrading to black women and men, there is enough out there for the next generation to see. When will black actors and actresses stop allowing Hollywood to make blacks degrade themselves, even African movies are the same it's just African actors and actresses. Just my opinion.
Many people have focused on the negative image portrayed of Black men in this series, but it is also an insult of Black women. These are not the Black women in my family and community.
My "music" is also offensive...
OOOOh, I'm eagerly looking forward to this. Meagan got a new show and I'm so glad to see Grace AKA Boo Boo Kitty back on screen
THIS TC SHOW IS AMAZING OMG I CANT WAIT DFOR SEASON 2 IM HOOKED!!
I see Whoopi Goldberg and I go YASSSS PLEASEEEEEE 😍🥳🥳🥳🥳
she's like the only normal person on the show.
Speaking from a woman that resides and worked in Harlem for many years, I will definitely watch. I love watching First Wives Club. Jill Scott and gang nailed it. I hope this show does well and represents.
This seems like just some more skrong Black woman don't need no man none sense..
Lmaooo this show panders to women so bad Lmaoo
I need a show like this!
looks good. just finished watching Harlem last night. it was good n funny
This show is EVERYTHING!!!
I don't want it to be a strong black woman show 😭😭😭 l just want black women living life
I liked it, and I really enjoyed the characters and character development. I do hope they put out a second season and promote it more!
This the white Harlem this ain’t Harlem
These are the types they want in there wh!te Harlem.
Nothing says "Harlem and Black Women," than a "project" produced by PHARRELL and AMY POEHLER. 😬🙄🙅🏾♀️
That part. 🙄
3.6 M views, 97 comments? How does that work?
Loved it. And the whole series at once. Can't wait for season 2!
I really enjoyed this show. Good to see sistas getting their own show
Ninja what?
Is that boo boo kitty??!!
Yes!!!
I am so excited, I keep on watching the trailer.
GURLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL IM FINNA BE HERE FOR THISSSSSSSSSSSS I LOVEEEEEEEEE the cast and I ONLY just saw the trailer 🥰🥰🥰😍🤩😍😊😜😊💙💜💜💜💜💜🙌🙌👐👐🙏🙏👏👏👏👏👏🤌🤌
I’m just trying to figure out why they had to leave us hanging like that 😩 I just don’t feel like that was right for them to do😭
LOL I'm gonna watch it, but it does remind me of Run the World. It'll be hard to escape that comparison with a View moderator attached (Whoopi, where Run the World had Rosie). I enjoyed Run the World, but I found myself needing more, much like I do with Insecure. Maybe this show will give me that "more" that I wanted- and if not... then maybe all three combined will give me enough.
Finished it a few months ago. I need my season 2 asap
Same. I need to know what happens with Ian and Camille
We still misrepresenting dark skin women like this in 2021?
Not the cousin skeeter reunion! I love it
Megs looks freshly BLEACHED
This looks so good!! Ima be watching it 100%
I AM TERMINALLY ILL, AND READY TO GO HOME NOW, HOWEVER I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THIS FIRST!!!
Reminds me of single ladies. Can't wait to watch it.
I just want the soundtrack already
This show is amazing. I binged it today. Such good writing and it shows what's possible when the script has integrity. I wanna know more about the production of this show. This is black excellence
where axel
