You're right, because all of its main cards are from gadgetzan and classic, so pirate warrior wont go away for at least whole year.

The only card that is rotating out is finley and in some versions argent horserider (i think that's what the card is called). And not even one of the cards has that big of an impact, finley does, but well.. not that BIG that it would just make the deck useless.
Also, reno is rotating out, so there will be like no counterplay to that except other aggro decks or insane luck.
Even so, HS team will just introduce more busted, "must have to win" cards. Every expansion does this, so i won't worry too much about pirate warrior in the next expansion.
Its what the expansion introduce that worries me, this game feels like its dying (in terms of player population).

Pirate warriors may be the most horrible soulless beings from the deepest depths of hell's abyss, but that makes beating them by just playing Reno when they're about to kill you all the more satisfying. The downsides of this are that you often don't even get the chance to play Reno or they can still kill you after even you've played Reno...
well the problem is I lost with reno in my starting hand cause I died by turn 5... so no reno is not enouth at times

I have a idea for a new minion let's make a new 2 drop so its not op let's also make it a totem pirate so it has a little bit of syngy its can be a 7/7 charge that can't be targeted so it can fit better in control decks you know though we have to give it a drawback so it have a text effect this card can only attack a player.that way it can't be op and clear the bored of minions or every control deck would run it

expressrobkill Patches isn't that bad. But holy crap, why would you make a 1 mana 3/2? Its such an obscene card. It, tunneling trogg, and mana worm just turn into a 1 mana pyroblast plus remove a 4 mana or less minion.

DreadStare Hyper agro decks are insanely powerful and dominant in the meta. They have been for a while now. They require very little skill and misplays are rarely punished. They are also very cheap decks to make, so they are popular everywhere. New players will pick up the deck and win games they shouldn't have won. The better player loses more than they should.

Before Patches was released Pirate Warrior was actually o good model for Aggro decks since it was a good deck that would actually get screwed by poor hands occasionally.
Now there's too much synergy to have a poor hand.
And to think the ONLY deck that can counter them is about to lose the ONLY card that allowed them to beat it.
But at least there's class diversity, herp de derp.

What i miss in hearthstone is the classic minion that exist in every card game - giant health minion with "Taunt, cannot attack".
poWMod Mirrors just thaugt about this right now, 3 mana 3/9 taunt, cant attack.
I want people to realize something, Reno is the only thing in the game that allows you to sometimes win against aggro. The card literally heals you to full health, think about how strong that actually is, and in some games that is still not enough. If you have to print a heal card that powerful to combat the aggro decks, then maybe there is a bigger problem with card design. You shouldn't have to have double life just to stand a chance.

I just can't believe how the Hearthstone dev team looked at what cards are in standard and said "Yeah, this is good for the overall health of the game!" I mean, was there like no playtesting to make sure one or two kinds of decks wouldn't be practically unbeatable? I just really hope either this leads to some cards being nerfed or that come next adventure/expansion there's more answers.

I think it's time we get used to these strong aggro decks. I mean there hasn't been as single expansion since naxx that we haven't had that one fast op deck. For the last few expansions it was aggro shaman which everyone hated and now it's pirate warrior so we better get used to it and stop complaining.

Pirate Warrior in a nutshell:
played a game as a dragon priest. Played reno on turn 5 with coin with 6 health left having healed for 4 and had my brann killed. Played 3/6 taunt next turn which got killed along with reno. lost turn 8 after having taken over 80 damage across my hero and my minions. F*** Pirate warrior

So this current Pirate Warrior is almost the exact same deck as before Gadgetzan, there was a pirate/weapon warrior deck that made it to rank 1 legend, and it was pretty much the best face deck we had during the Shamanstone period.
It was already a really good deck, insanely infuriating. Being able to double heroic strike for 8 damage burst, mortal strikes, leeroy/chargers. It was good, if Shaman's weren't dominating the meta, it probably would have been dominating it, so Blizz in it's infinite wisdom thought... you know what this deck needs? 3 insane 1 drops!
I don't think there should ever be a deck that can play 3 cards in 2 turns and deal 9-12 damage before the end of turn 2 with pretty much no counter.
9:18 I remember seeing an article recently that said that doomsayer might be in need of a nerf because it's nearly impossible to stop it from triggering and it's way too good against aggro decks, and I just laughed because of all the times I've seen this happen.
Tried Priest, and played (on the draw) turn 1 removal, turn 2 heal, turn 3 Injured Blademaster, turn 4 removal and heal, turn 5 Holy Nova, turn 6 - dead. Healthy game is healthy.

Best way to fix heroic strike is to make it: During this turn your weapon gains 4 attack.

This expansion had some real potential. Hand buffing looked fun, the tri class stuff looked fun, Kazakus looked fun. Oh well.
Here's a new text for Blizz should consider for Reno: If your opponent has Patches in their deck, Reno Jackson costs 1 mana and will be returned to your hand after you play him. :)

Bjarke Rugsted tapping increases your chances of drawing board clears taunts and healing before you die. That chance is much more valuable then 2/4/6 life, which a pirate warrior will burn through in no time flat anyway

That yellow wall really fucks up the white balance on your camera and makes it look like you have jaundice.
They have fucked up their design so bad. Jade kills pure controls decks, Reno is being removed making pirate warrior even stronger they have built themselves into a small box of design space.
With Beast Druid I had a lot of success (didn't play above rank 10 so far though) against Pirate Warrior. The high HP early game minions + Swipe + Taunts really are strong here.

In the first match the Warrior even made a misplay and traded his deckhand instead of a weapon charge and Patches which lowered his overall damage by few points over the turns.

How to counter Pirate Warrior: on the Battle Net client, select Heartstone, click Options, then uninstall. I did that. Works wonders.
Easy fix: Reno Jackson, 5 mana, lower stats to 3/5

I found out that the Nerubian card that adds 3 nerubians to your opponents deck are very good. One duude even played Reno and forgot that he had 3 nerubians in his deck lol

How Blizzard handles op aggro decks:
- look at the decks/cards that are op
- wait and see if the decks/cards really are as broken as people say
- maybe consider nerfing them 3 years later
- print more cards like purify in adventures
Pretty sure Blizzard devs have said that they are watching STB closely, but that isn't enough. At this point they need to move pirates to wild or we are in for a long ride.
Even if they move the pirates from the classic set to wild it will still be a problem since both patches and Small Time Buccaneer won't rotate out for a long time, Pirate warrior has shown up before but it hasn't been as big of a problem as it is now since they couldn't pressure you enough (which changed with the release of the strongest 1-drop since undertaker).
The main issues is that the "pirate package" only consist of 3 cards, 2 SMB and Patches, with the only requirement to run them is to be a weapons class. This in combination with the fact that they have released a lot of op early game weapons makes it so that the pirate decks snowballs so heavy it crushes everything in its path.
I meant all Pirates. Or restructure how they work. They built the entire tribe as an aggro tribe and that concept in and of itself is flawed. We both know however, that none of the pirates are going anywhere and fuck all is going to happen that invalidates the deck because blizzard doesn't nerf bullshit. They nerf borderline cards that get complaints from scrubs.

I think every meta has a deck you just have to know card by card. Pirate Warrior seems to be that deck them time around.
Have an early board clear and/or a cheap weapon and you can go a long way against pirates.

Like seeing the aggro bullshit we have to deal with, reprint deathlord and and other cards to balance out the meta? Instead of printing new and equally broken cards that ultimately have no positive impact on the diversification of the meta?

From what I read from Blizzard, they seem to like Aggro and dislike control and combo, feeling the latter two decks are not «interactive» enough. They are of the opinion that anything that can be like «No matter which minions you play, I can reliably stop your attacks for long enough and still win» (Control meta) is bad for the game.
I do love beating pirate warriors though. I like how they have to stop and think whenever there's a taunt or a doomsayer on the board, making their turns take 3 times as long, because that's obviously difficult for them.

u would destroy zoolock with a couple good removals especiarly in early turns...warrior except from dominating the board really quick he has like 10 weapons which u cant really fight against,i mean u put an ooze and will u draw it?and even if u draw it it seems like that even that is not enough...

Indeed,and that is because zoolock contains only minions-hence the synthetic zoo-so if u lose the board it is very difficult to turn the tide,unless the opponent stays with low health and u play a charge or something...shaman 1-3 years ago used to be that way,he was never a rush deck...these types of aggro,i accept,but the stupidity of lucky ass top-decks and face-face-face...its just frustrating to watch,let alone fill in ur gut...the ladder is really dissapointing nowadays,its just sad where the competitive hs had end up being...
Bring small time buc down to 1 HP and pirates will lose a lot of power. Mage hero power, arcane explosion, mortal coil, spirit claws, paladin hero power, cruel taskmaster and other warrior 1 damage spells, ravaging ghoul, murloc sniper, elven archer, the answers go on and on.
Small time buc is the real problem with the pirate deck, it's value is insane for such little cost. It's 2 health make it very hard to answer for most decks on turn 2 so its health being brought to 1, makes it vulnerable but still a valuable card.
you don't think super cheap efficient weapons that keep getting buffed over and over aren't a problem? I think a 4/3 ax for 2 mana or a 5/2 (or 6/3) weapon for 5 mana that can smack you in the face two/three/four times is waaaaaaaay more op than a 3/2 minion
playing agaisnt cancer warrior/shamam with a control deck feels like playing agaisnt grim patron warrior with dreadstread warlock you can win but you have a 99% agaisnt you
that is why, you play full heal priest. with 2 4 mana 12 heal while being a reno deck
when you randomly hit the spot on skipping the interdiction.
what was the missplay turn 7 in the last game? could he have done anything else??
I play Renolock and I love ending their combos.
Turn the 3/2's into 3/1's, and make Patches only have charge when you have a Pirate in your hand AND board. Oh, and make it to where Patches can't attack if you have no pirates.

He could have, but if he were to do that and waited to hell fire there was so much damage on the board it could have gone south really fast for him. So, he decided to take a risky play in order to clear the board and slow down the flow of massive amounts of damage hoping to live the following turn to Reno, and then not imminently die once again. I am bad at explaining, I hope you can catch my drift :)
It would have put him at a lower health total soon after the reno as playing that would have left the warrior with a larger board.
Jack Bergeron I understand, just saying that is what I would have done. Then after hellfire you could plop down those creatures and hope to regain the board.
the guy had 14 damage on board, could probably easily have gotten that up to 18-20 as well the following turn leaving him in a weaker spot.

Reno does practically nothing if you don't have tempo. Best example should be pre-msog Amaz vid, Rogue(Amaz) vs midrange Shaman(opponent). Forgot what kind of rogue deck Amaz was playing, might have been a mill deck with Reno. He used Reno 4-6 times with shadowstep, gang up but ended up losing because you would still get pummeled by the board even if you heal to full.
Maybe if Deathlord is brought back to standard, it would also make N'zoth decks better against midrange.
