After growing up in Church, at around form 2 I also had the quest to know "this God". I could not believe my findings for I had a shivering personal encounter with the Almighty God (testimony for another day). The big difference and problem with your approach is putting your trust on man and seeking answers from the wisdom of men. I'd advise you to seek God directly, personally and candidly otherwise you are headed towards traditional worship which is directly connected to demonic wisdom/worship.
