A rich man is a man who is willing to do almost anything to protect and preserve his tremendous wealth (Matthew 6:21). He may feel the way he does about his wealth because he believes that it can offer him a great deal of WORLDLY influence, financial security and power. The more money that he is able to accumulates unto himself, the more confidence that he will have about being able to enjoy his BEST LIFE NOW. He may even try to rationalize his relentless efforts to attain even more money than is actually needed for him to enjoy his temporal life, here on earth. Is this not how MOST people think when it comes to worldly success? This type of insatiable behavior is very common and sometimes expected from an unconverted world, but it is greatly DISCOURAGED in the true body of Christ, because Christ absolutely HATES it!
