    Because the Education system is not meant to Educate, it's meant to create low paid workers.
    If it was meant to educate, we would be taught about taxes, mortgages, etc.

    There is alot of blame to go around I suggest if people can they should volunteer at a local school. The teachers are overworked and criminally under paid but are expected to do it all and that's absurd
    My kids are in their 30s now but when they were little I had the honor of being a stay at home mom and I volunteered from pre school thru high school. If you think it's important volunteer...♡

    When i was in grade 1 or 2, i was told i wasn't allowed to read my books anymore because i wasn't playing with the other kids enough. So it could be that schools don't actually care about education.

  • @intheschoolofgodandnature
    @intheschoolofgodandnature Před 6 měsíci +3

    My homeschooled children read and are in math courses several grades beyond their respective ages. Their achievements are not unusual for homeschoolers; we also live in a rural area. I basically taught them from 125 year old primers. Looking to politicians and extra funding is not your answer.

    • @Nexven
      @Nexven Před 6 měsíci +4

      I highly doubt your homeschool kids are ahead of the standards unless you live in rural Indiana, or you happen to have a Masters in childhood education. I also question the ability of your children to adapt to social environments. Most states don't even require yearly standardized testing requirements. Florida being one example.

    • @MrEkzotic
      @MrEkzotic Před 6 měsíci

      @@Nexven Why do you doubt it? And why do you think one needs a Master's degree to effectively homeschool one's own children? Further, you don't know how this person socializes his/her children. I would suggest asking questions before making assumptions; you're demonstrating significant bias.

    • @intheschoolofgodandnature
      @intheschoolofgodandnature Před 6 měsíci

      @Nexven I feel badly that public schools are failing children. All of the hand-wringing and digital ink being spilled on the subject of public ed failures is enough to confirm me in my choice, and it appears that the standards are being written but not met. I'm also not overly impressed w the socialization schools offer. I hope for the sake of our nation, public ed can turn itself around since so many depend on it. I read from one educator that schools have declined since the 1950s when achievement was much higher.

    • @MrEkzotic
      @MrEkzotic Před 6 měsíci +1

      @@intheschoolofgodandnature Yes. The quality of public education has declined precipitously. Look up the 1912 US 8th grade final exam...many college educated people have problems answering many of those questions.
      I'm not sure why the person who responded to you made so many assumptions and seemed to have discounted your capacity to effectively educate your own children. Did social media create this bitterness between those who have different opinions, or did it just broadcast already existing bitterness?

    • @Nexven
      @Nexven Před 6 měsíci

      @MrEkzotic You are correct I am being biased and it seemingly could be based on what may be considered baseless claims, but there is truth lying in the % of homeschooling children making up the population of post secondary education. Per the Department of Education, statisically they make up less than 1% of incoming freshman, and why do you quantify some sort of qualifying degree is required of teachers and professors if they legally want to teach in the United States? Asking questions of homeschooling groups only leads to confirmation bias, and this is per my experience as there is a large number of homeschooling groups in my state.

  • @-Subtle-
    @-Subtle- Před 6 měsíci +1

    Write a story about the actual test scores since say 1971. Just talk about the facts. Just talk about the scores.
    No editorials, no make believe, just the scores.
    Spend a few paragraphs on 2012.
    Do something simple like: set current scores next to the 1971 scores.
    Or are you cowards?
