Since I probably should stay in school I still put in earbuds or walk away if there is language and or inappropriate talk in a conversation. I REALLY try to do my best with blocking out Satan who constantly tries to get me to stay and ruin my life, but I don't and it makes me proud. Everyone should watch this before choosing something that would make there life miserable.

Just recently, we were watching a PG movie at school that was rated PG back in the days, which basically meant it was PG 13 today. They started saying bad words and other nasty stuff so I had the courage to walk up to my teacher and ask if I could go to the library to do other work. Thankfully she said yes. I’m glad I made that decision :)

John would not have comprehended the importance of the decision that he was making at the time, however, as his life progressed he noticed how much the Lord has blessed him for that decision. Quite often we will not understand, nor comprehend, the blessings that will come to us as we choose right. However, as our life progresses we will see the consequences that come as a result of the decisions we have made.

“Courage, not compromise, brings the smile of God’s approval. Courage becomes a living and an attractive virtue when it is regarded not only as a willingness to die manfully, but as the determination to live decently. A moral coward is one who is afraid to do what he thinks is right because others will disapprove or laugh. Remember that all men have their fears, but those who face their fears with dignity have courage as well.”

I am so glad to see this story made into a Mormon Message. I loved the original talk, and even John Bytheway's retelling of it on one of his CDs (I think it was "Stand Ye In Holy Places"). So often, the course of our lives can hinge on just one moment, a single second that can change our path forever.

wow, I got shivers when they told about the blessing John and his friend had when they refused to join the circle, and felt so sad when they told of the friend who had joined the circle. After thinking about this for a little bit, I think we might sometimes try to hide our sons by removing the evidence (when the people with the cigarettes threw them off the roof), but it is still on our hands, and the Lord CAN see, even though we had tried to hide it.

They will need who you are now, and you can keep striving to be all that you were created to be. Thank you for sharing.

Doing the right thing is all that matters friends who make you do things that are not good don't really care about you. Real friends would support your decision. A LOT of boys in my class try to get me to sneak out and go and smoke and I know not to do that. And because I told them no, now they think they have to make fun of me because I am Loyal to my church and I'm proud I am a part of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. But I would much rather have some stupid boys make fun of me then me going and doing bad things. They think their tearing me down but inside it's just making me love my church even more and want to be more active in the church. So don't let some friends or boys or whoever make you do something bad it might be hard to say no but I promise you won't regret it. Have a good day.

I like John, left the party tonight. The word says be he holy for I AM Holy. Be ye holy in everything, attitude, conversation, character. Even if you need to stand a lone. Yet you are never alone.
I'm a lone yet, I am not lonly. The decisions we make will either make us or break us.
Fake people have an image to maintain. Real people just don’t care.
I don’t care what you think of me! Unless you think I’m awesome - in which case, you’re right! Carry on…
    - Why the hell should you care about someone else’s opinion? They have got nothing to do with you. Just know that you are wonderful and don’t let anyone make you think otherwise.
There at this party I was at had unclean, viale images of Uncannily women in inappropriate posses.
"My statement was do you have a clean deck of cards"? They all laughed.
Then, I said... "I am done and walked out before this party had even gotten started or even under way.
I came from the party scene when I was in my 20's. Crazy notions about that was. I never once found any answers by the way, of starring down the barrel of any empty beer can or bottle.
Yet I find answers by way of the Bible and book of Mormon.

Something similar would probably happen in the United States (in fact, it does all the time) -- as in the U.S., the "use" of alcohol under the legal age, or the "use" of drugs, is not the crime; it is the "possession" of the item. If you hold the item, even just to pass it to someone else, you "possess" it. Also, there is a legal doctrine called "constructive possession" in most places -- a person can have possession of an item, substance, or object without actually holding it or having it on their person, if it is under their "control" -- such as being in a purse, jacket pocket, or car belonging to that person or even just nearby.
This is in addition to the negative influence these activities have on our spiritual awareness -- we become desensitized by repeatedly subjecting ourselves to it, so that when the Holy Ghost tries to speak to us, his voice becomes harder and harder to hear. It is always better not to be there at all, than to just decline to partake of the wrong activities -- for legal reasons, in addition to the spiritual reasons.
