      Does your script also setup the MacOS serial and stuff such that BlueBubble and iMessage is working? I tried various hackintosh ways, tutorials and spend days figuring it out and at the end failed. The setup process for iMessage is definitely not as easy as what Don has described (just use a working imessage account and login), unless your script has helped him

    Thanks for this. I got it working tonight. Kind of funny when I looked at the About This Mac settings. It's running on an AMD Ryzen 5 but Ventura thinks its a Xeon CPU. It got the speed right. It thinks I am using a 37 inch monitor. It's a 22" Dell monitor. Couple of things are weird, like the launchpad isn't there. (May just be off the bottom of the screen.) Haven't found the resolution setting yet...
    Proxmox isn't something I am familiar with, so that was necessary to get that installed first. Wasn't too bad.
    You are in my thoughts and hopes with your medical issues. Keep a good attitude, that does help.

    lots of intel onboard video chipsets now support sr-iov with the right (free) software on proxmox so if you have a supported onboard intel graphics gpu, you can pass through a part of it (not the whole thing, so you can still get console video out of proxmox), and get basic gpu acceleration (which is similar to what you'd get on an intel macbook pro/air for example) and should allow you to run those apps that require gpu acceleration at full speed (or as full speed as whatever native igpu will give you, you probably aren't playing games with it).

    • @ewenchan1239
      @ewenchan1239 Před 3 měsíci +3

      I mean -- there really isn't a reason why you CAN'T run it on an N100.
      I have an N95 Mini PC, and as long as you level-set your expectation proportional to the CPU that you're using, I think that it's fine.

      Agreed.
      My only concern about running this script is that it is running it as root, directly on your Proxmox host.
      (This is where I think that Harvey's Virtual Environment One-Click Template might have an advantage over this method as you're not running anything (as far as I can tell), as root, directly on the Proxmox host itself. Admittedly, I haven't tested out his absolutely latest version, but I've used his one-click templates before where you're just basically restoring a VM and it picks it up from where you set up the macOS for the first time, so it reboots itself like 3 or 4 times.)
      That's the only harm I can potentially see, in trying to run this script.

    Used this script a few weeks back could only get Mojave to run on AMD 5700G, maybe the Intel people have better luck. Much better to take the time to create a iso from a macOS download, then modify the conf file as in the end it saves time.

    • @r0bo11
      @r0bo11 Před 3 měsíci

      You have to get a dump of your GPU's vBIOS linked, set the display of VM in Proxmox to "none" and make sure you have a dummy HDMI EDID plugged into the GPU if you're not using it via a display (remote access). You might also need to add VFIO parameters (audio and video) of your specific card to the conf file and ensure all your pre-requisites for IOMMU are done.

    Harvey's Virtual Environment also has a one-click install template that he's now charging 5 GBP for (or you can install it the manual way for free).
    But that works better from the perspective that you're not running a script with the root account, on your Proxmox host.

    @Novaspirittech! This is not working for me and I believe it is because everytime I try booting up the VM I get an error: "Storage "local" does not support content-type 'iso' "
    I am running Proxmox version 8.1.10
    Tried installing the Sonoma and Ventura VM's and encountered the same error, this appears to be something simple to fix, I will research to see if I can find what or how to fix it!!!

    Doesn't seem to work - not sure what damage its done to my install - no instructions on how to remove it.
    I followed the install instructions and it said it was going to reboot my machine. I logged back in, and there was a new folder was in the root home. It had copied the latest opencore into my local ISO storage.
    I cd'd into the scripts folder and ran setup to get the menu back.
    I first tried the remove proxmox suscription message (option 203). I ran for a minute and then rebooted my system (no warning issued here).
    Nothing changed however.
    I then tried to run option 7 (macos sonoma).
    It asked me for a VM no and name (which I gave it).
    Then it asked me for a disk size - I pressed enter for the 64Gb default and it errored out with the message
    setup: 1372: [[: not found
    ERROR! SIZEDISK MUST HAVE INTEGER NUMBER!
    I ran it again and entered 64. Same error message...
    Enter a disk size [INTEGER] [or ENTER for Default: 64 Gb]: 64
    setup: 1372: [[: not found
    ERROR! SIZEDISK MUST HAVE INTEGER NUMBER!
    It doesn't seem very robust if BOTH of the 2 things I've tried did nothing or failed.

    You should add a disclaimer: Do not run questionable scripts on working/production environment (even a configired home lab setup), learn to do things manually or, at least, use script ONLY as a reference while doing stuff.

    Be careful, before installing this script it is important that you are prepared for the consequences. I ran it and it started installing prerequisites without indicating what they were, and it immediately restarted the Proxmox host. Once it restarted, LXC102 stopped working. After almost an hour, I think I managed to fix it. Obviously, it didn't work to install Hackintosh as it gives an error saying it cannot be installed. Do not use it!
