Your mom is pretty! I wish you would do a haul of your purchases. Thank you for bringing us along.
The white tape for the old typewriters would be put on top of the letter you wanted to change and then you would type that letter again to make a white letter that supposedly "erased" the dark letter. It never looked very good. Then, Wite Out was developed to cover mistakes in a letter also not really looking very good. The tape and the Wite Out just covered, but did not erase the letter. Wite Out was invented by the mother of one of the Monkees, Bette Nesmith Graham. Speaking of mothers, your mother is adorable and you look very much like her in the face.
Hello Nifty Jeffrey....did I see that right? At Your Salvation Army visit did I see some "unseen something" cause some merch to fall off a shelf and onto the floor in the next room? You have the Red Glass vase in your hand...yes it's a great size, color and also great for Valentine's Day❤️! Mom has a Great Eye as well as a Sense of Humor! Lol. The white out... It put the white over the ink, it didn't lift it off😂. So the sticky had this white stuff on it and you ran it over the mistake and it covered it.

It was nice to see what your mom looks like finally. I had to laugh about the typewriter comment. I thought you were going to tell us about this obscure thing about typewriters. Instead you told us about something you learn in typewriting 101. And yes, I took that class in the 1980s, lol. I think the next decade the class was called keyboarding lol. I forget that you youngums arent familiar with such basic office equipment as the typewriter. Boy I feel old now lol.
I learned to type on those types of typewriters and they certainly were hard on the muscles in your hands! I met my husband in college and he owned an electric one; SO much easier to use!😊

The ruby red double bump vase appeared to have the pontil on the bottom smoothed off. Also I think it is a vase where you put a bulb in the top bump, fill with water, so the roots grow down into the bottom, perfect for an Amaryllis bulb. :)
I had to laugh when you were talking about the typewriter. Back in the Day, I used to type 90 words a minute when I graduated from college, I won an award for my speed :) "Back in the Day" :) :) Hi Jeffrey's Mom

0ld lady here. There were papers coàted with white chalk-like material, and if you made an error you would backspace, slide the little paper into the right position, and hit the same key. That way the error is covered up by the white stuff and you then proceed to type the correct letter on top of your error.

I have been binge watching your videos. Used to shop at antique stores and found some treasures. Legs don't work so well lately, but I am going to start again. Love how you explain what and where certain things come from. New subscriber here.
I was watching your video and I seen the quilts and I seen the stains on the one quilt. One thing that works really well. If you ever buy something that has some stains and you know that it's worth some good money it is Carbona stain remover scrub it on the stain. Wait about 10 minutes and then wash it like normal. It does a really good job removing the stains. My secret to you.

I just looked through your mom's shop again the other day! It's so much larger now, I hope that means it's doing well. Especially loved the lidded green compote, not my style but sooo pretty!

One of my Great Grandmas lived in East Lake Weir a long time ago. We would go there in the 60s for summer vacation when i was a kid. That is very close to Ocala.
Hi, Jeffery! Your Mom is lovely I hope we get to see more of her. I liked the shesham wood letter holder she picked up. And the black lacquer box- a shame that the corner had a dink. ( my all-encompassing term for flea bites, chips, etc) Some would paint over it with black nail polish, if it were for their own use. Sell it? Nope. Found a blue and white Asian tumble up, of all things. Rectangular, with a round neck and cup just for my own use. Not worth much, but odd. Thanks, you two! ❤️💐

I have that red art glass vase. I got roses in it from the florist for Valentines 1992. There were no stickers on the bottom to identify the glass maker but I'm positive on the date.

When looking at used upholstery always lift the center cushion to see who made it. Companies like Ethan Allen, Drexel and Drexel Heritage, Pennsylvania House etc were made with hardwood frames and 8 way hand tied springs. They are worth reupholstering.

I’m of the age where typing class was a must. I know the back button key VERY well:) My whiteout ribbon got as black as the ink ribbon!! I’ve adapted well to computers & can type rather fast now:) Although, I still LOVE the delete key too!

Glad you came to Ocala! I'm in Belleview, so about 20, 25 mins from there. It is hit or miss, so I usually go to Diggers or Ole Cracker antique malls.
I love Diggers! Especially the outside junk, my favorite kind of stuff! I like Ole Cracker House too. Do you go to the Ocala Antique Mall? It's a fun place too.
@@anngallegos5515 I don't usually find much there, I'm not sure why. Maybe I need to take more time. Wildings is good too, I just found some beautiful Prussia pieces there.
I lived in Ocala and it is very hit or miss in these thrift stores. The Goodwill you went to use to be really good until they started bringing in the “new” store merchandise once that happened the stopped bringing in the as much donated items. Gainesville is much better.

Fun visit with your mom, how I hated florida as a kid, I would beg my parents to stay home and not have to go to our vacation home in dreaded florida with all the bugs, noise and humidity.
My parents lived in Ocala and there was alot of good thrift stores. Go towards the water
