  • A personal look at the rock-hewn churches at the Lalibela site in Ethiopia, as captured on my camera.
I tried to understand the magnitude of the engineering and performance achievement.
    .it was inconceivable
The faith of Ethiopian Christians is deep and expressed in the prayer I photographed in church.
Prayers have been in Lalibela regularly since its early days.
Later in the film, a visit to the Na`akueto La`ab Church, which is located near Lalibela.
The church was built inside a cave, from which a trickle of holy water penetrates.
The water is collected and used in religious practices.
Visitors are also presented with a collection of centuries-old paintings.
Ethiopia was the second country in the world to accept Christianity and the film presents a fascinating tour of important sites of Christian Ethiopia.

Although I have seen these monuments when I was alone without guiding, Israel Feiler's research sheds new light for me about a place I thought was uninteresting and boring at times. He knows very well where to put his tripod so his photos will lead a very revalling story. Wish he was my photographing teacher.

You know that I follow your movies with enthusiasm always. They feel ritch in culture and history. You are a storyteller and an educator. I will never view Ethiopia the same again!
