I love seeing diverse families on HGTV shows. This house is so lovely and the son and son-in-law are so gracious to provide a space for mom. I love that Hillary didn't mess with their mid-century vibe, other than reupholstering. Those kids will be blessed to grow up with grandma so close by.

Ok! As always, I have to comment. I’m a details guy, and I’m over the moon with how Hilary pulled off a full kitchen for the Mom. And, I love that playful backsplash that ties in with the entire downstairs decor and theme. Mom, you are one Blessed Woman.
Love that there is a dishwasher included for Gammie! That will be especially important as time passes and dishes become a more difficult chore for her. Great episode!

I really like this design. The only thing I don’t like is the furniture in the family room. It doesn’t look comfortable at all. Not very cozy for movie nights, etc

hated, hated the ugly sofas in the new space. I guess that fabric could hide if the kids threw up
@@zach16when you have young kids it's not good to have light colored sofas. It's either get dark colors or prints. I'm not too fond of the color/ print but it was bright colored and I think it was better than getting a dark couch.
