- Well that escalated quickly. The road from Sagada to Kalinga demands caution. I almost took a spill leaving the Mountain Province. It really did a number on us both but led us to the most beautiful lodging I've ever experienced, high above the clouds. And one significant setback changed the entire road trip, turning everything on its head. We threw all plans out the window at the point of no return. It ended up defining the spirit of adventure that colored my entire motorcycle road trip in the Philippines... With all faith resting on the trusty Scrambler.

Almost had the same accident as you, I went through the road in the morning it was clear and at night there was sand because the DPWH put sand on the asphalt inorder for it not to melt but no warning signs. My motorcycle swerved but thankfully I was able to rest control of the motorcycle. However, the adrenaline man...

Love the rumble on the Triump scrambler👍. Concerning on the flat tire of your broom wagon, that's the biggest problem on those low profile tires. They are prone to damage when you hit a big object because it bottoms out. I'm glad you are Ok. Stay safe. Keep the rubber to the concrete. Motorcycle rider since 1969. Viewer from the US.

I ride with a tall classic bike daily in the philippines as well. I usually avoid leaning and just slow down on turns when the road is sandy especially after raining. Anyway, I'm glad your safe. Ride safe always!

I guess nobody told the PNP spares like that go on the back lol. PSA people: if you have a space saver or "donut" spare tire, you need to put it on the back and move a good rear tire to the front to maintain steering and braking as much as possible.

In the Philippines you would pray/say grace prior to having a meal, then you would say kain tayo! (Tagalog for lets eat!) or if you're in the Visayas, kaon ta!

FYI Not a good idea to put a spacesaver on the front as it could cause uneven steering and braking resulting in LOSS of CONTROL especially in the MOUNTAINS! ..ride safe.

That sand and gravel on the road are dangerous specially on curve. I keep at low speed beforehand if I can't avoid those. Ride safe man.

Sagada is not easy road and destination. Id like to drive alone there but it would be better to drive with someone due to the dangerous road condition and unexpected landslides even in a good day.
Do what you're comfortable with. I think traveling to Sagada is quite pleasant alone or with company. Going beyond is a bit sketchier but there are always people around if you need an extra hand.

I wouldn't let go of my 900. She's a keeper.. But I still daydream about adding a 1200 to the stable! Otherwise, totally worth the upgrade for more punch and capability while sacrificing some of the 900's handling around corners.

How were you communicating with the car? I ride and my girlfriend drives. I've had an idea of doing some trips where I ride and she drives but I still want to be able to talk to her.
Jenna had a Cardo headset already so she could switch the unit between her helmet and the headset. If we had very important reasons to communicate when out of range, we would also use Cardo to place calls.
