Of course you can put the pieces together and come to that conclusion, but it'd still be nice to have the brothers visit the subject at least once instead of acting like the moment he died he stopped existing, like TPTB wrote it. And that's what I'm talking about in my original comment. He's basically completely irrelevant and forgotten about in canon after that point, never to be brought up again.
The way Jared talks about that season 8 finale here is so different to how he has talked about it elsewhere. I don't know if it's the difference between being at SDCC vs a Supernatural specific con, or just enough time passing that he felt he could speak openly about his headspace.

@@anandiganguly3086 I love their chemistry. Already in 2008, they decided to have panels together. And since then, they've been a matched duo, which is amazing. And you're right J2 together have over 100 panels. And we always love them and like to have fun with them. Their friendship is rare, lasts 15 years and I think they will remain great friends and co-workers forever
