Hi Ryan , I initially was listening to your advice because I am a td ameritrade client since 2013 and will be very soon moved to Schwab.
I want to thank you for the info,what got me going though was when you mentioned that you believe Lehman investors were able to recuperate their invested amount!!!!
This is not the case,at least for what happened to me and my investment
So I am curious how you were able to make that statement.....
I closed my TD Ameritrade accounts in January and transferred them all to Fidelity and have no regrets. In fact, Fidelity has a money market account which TD did not have, so that is a plus. In addition, Fidelity is the number one online rated investment firm per NerdWallet and others. In addition, they are ranked third for Asset Management behind Vanguard and BlackRock, which are two Woke investment companies.

@@garydownes1594 No, just had a bad feeling about the merger. Heck, TD even offered me $2,400 not to move my accounts, go figure!
I went the other way - 401K is in Fidelity, but I didn't care for their politics which meant they were not performing, and move it over periodically to my self directed IRA at TD. The thing I noted was that Fidelity does not make it easy to move money from them compared to many other outfits. I might add that I am happier with may own handling than paying management fees for the performance I was receiving. It doesn't sound like much, but compounding over the years - it hurts.

@@randy74989 I don't understand. Isn't TDA getting rid of their investment branch? If so, why would they offer you an incentive to stay with them? Where will they move your assets to?
I have both Schwab & Fidelity........Like Schwab mainly for Preferred Stocks as they allow DRIP otherwise, I love Fidelity (great factional trading even on CEFs and ETFs plus No minimums of their branded open ended mutuals) ....I do have A Schwab Checking Acct after a fraud event with my local credit union & a fintech savings .....but now I will transfer extra $$ in my Schwab Checking to my brokerage account.
Does Charles Schwab brokerage rehypothecate you stocks?
i was force transferred to SCHWAB after TD Ameritrade stopped doing business. BUT i knew to sell out before this happened, so nothing would be lost in between LOL. I don,t dislike schwab, it is easy to use , i give them that! But my old local bank was taken over by the Canadian Bank, TD ( not related to TD Ameritrade, they said ) those suckers unbanked me . ( agood customer for 15 years) Lucky i had a good credit union to transfer my money to ,

Thanks for the information, I’m one of them that that got moved to Schwab, these suckas have always found a way to take most of your increases, leaving one with a penance of increase
