Thanks for doing this budget build, it makes it seem like a more attainable goal than all the 500+ dollars builds I watch people assemble.
My current drift build is $2000 but to be fair that’s Hawaii prices
Your videos are done so well and you made the exact build, all the exact same parts and body....crazy coincidence
Great minds think alike. I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
Make It RC this is sick along with good editing
Love the tunes in this vid. Great job as always.
I can’t find an esc can you help me find one?
Please someone list the parts here ...
Hey I love your channel
Your videos are very informative, well made, and entertaining. You've taught me so much about RC Cars. You've earned my sub sir. Keep it up, you're doing awesome !
Awesome video for those getting into the hobby (even thought its from a few years ago now) thank you!
Got my sub and I’m into your videos really like your editing and the way you present everything is superb
This is some nice quality content can't wait for the interior
Thank you!
Nice! Really looking for the first running video!👍
Thank you!
I must say this has been s enjoyable video.Refreshing to hear honesty when it come to parts and opinion. Id love to get into this avenue of the hobby it looks totally fun. thx for your time.✌
Thank you! AWD drifting is a lot of fun, and I expect RWD to be even more.
Wow, so impressive, great quality, very proffessional and you deserve way more subscribers!
Hey nice video love this type of builds keep up the good content got my sub 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Awesome video Thanks!
Nice video! And great to see more people going into rwd! 13.5 is a good learning base but most used would be 10.5, solo drifting you'll have enough fun with a 13.5, and from my personal thoughts, the d4 is a decent chassis to learn on but tbh yd2 and rmx2.0 are by far the 2 new learning base! But anyways keep up the good work man! We need more vids like yours ;)
Thank you for the info. Glad you enjoyed the video!
Watch two of your video and i love them I will make sure to sub and keep up the great work man
I have to say, you make great videos! I am also going to get a D4, but I am going for the 8.5T motor!
Bardzo dobrze zrobione!
Zapraszamy jak najszybciej ponownie. :)
Yea this is first build I've seen that is exactly what I wanted and the 180 is one of my top choices. Seen super budget awd builds but really want to build my own rwd. Or the most got some decent rtr for 360.
Awesome build ! Would be great if you could make a video like this for a Sakura D5.
I second this
jumping in this hobby just now, first channel I've stumbled upon... really well done videos, simple clear and really cool to look at
Keep up the good work, you'll be my sensei for this!
Welcome! I do the best I can with the videos, I'm glad you like them. The support is always great appreciated. 👍
The servo looks good keep it on and you could get a small sheet of plastic or aluminum to lay across so you can open the hood
AWESOMENESS 🙀🙀🙀🤙✌️🤘
Daaamn very nice video! Subscribed.
woow u got my subscription the video is soo professional and im surprised that u only got 300ish subscriber.. cant wait too see more videos
Thank you!
Props my dude! This vids are amazing. I actually just bought that same Servo for my S197 RTR drift car so I wanted to see it in action and whatda know you have it aswell
As I am a teen right now I am not financially able to build shit like this but god damn am I gonna make this a hobby if and when I become a functioning member of society that makes good enough money
Where it all began. :)
the thumbnail looked awesome
Nice 👌😜😉
Glad you enjoyed It
could you give me maybe a link to the motor and speed control?
Would be nice if he did.
@@Salty_reviews heres the motor www.rcmart.com/105t-3800kv-brushless-sensored-motor-dual-sensor-port-drift-tourin-p-76061.html?cPath=1560_2231_946 im getting one too but not now so don't buy them all. or if u do save one for me
dude wtf this Is the best rc channel on youtube. but one thing is that you could please put links to the components that would be very helpful.
you might have to move the receiver somewhere in the middle of the car, like 2/3rds away from the front, so you can get your gyro to work properly.
Thats great im buil my own you give new idea about electronic s placement optionions
Nice video... I used to have RC cars as a kid and got back into it a few years ago and have done several F1 builds. I aim for as much realism as can be achieved. BTW the bodies are polycarbonate, not polystyrene (that's the nasty white packaging material).
Wow. I was always interested to try this hobby, and as an RC pilot I love to build my own planes but this is something different. Would you consider making proper beginner series on how to start in this hobby. Many times I wanted to buy some drift car but I didn't even know where to start really. Quality video man.
Glad you enjoyed the video. I will definitely consider doing some videos geared toward beginners in the future. In the meantime, driftmission.com has some great guides, info, and forums you might want to check out.
Thank you very much.
Good video
i am addicted
i want to buy 1 thx MAKE It RC
great channel Sir and cool car i looking to get one too
How To DIY Rc cool. When's the next vid for this drifter?
Would you mind telling me on the screwdriver you used at 5:02 and before? Im looking to build a sakura d4 kit myself, and i need to know the size of the screwdriver.
I will soon Buy the D4 RWD. I heard it is Realy good for beginners!
Cool, I've not yet driven mine but so far it seems like a good platform.
Great videos...do servos need to meet certain specs and up? I tried drifting with some budget analog servos...I had steering wobbles on two cars, I used a cheap GYC300 , though ive seen people using it no problem...
You should make another series like this
flysky radio is a really good controller to start
Thanks, that is helpful. :)
Hi, whats the feedback on onishiki motor and esc? and what sort of servo you using now ?
sense you put the battery in the back would it make a little off center of gravity?
Wow😲
Does every ESC and motor need to be soldered? Or are there any kits that come together
less turns = high speed and bad low throttle response. high turns = lower speed and more toque with very good low end control
how does he not have more subs
Hey I wanna get into the drifter rc scene but I’m nervous about soldering. How hard is it? I don’t wanna spend money on junk that comes pre solders and have it catch fire 30 seconds in lol.
Did it come with electronics or do you need to buy them separately
I want to get a mst-01d rtr because I want a good chassis and something that is belt driven and I know almost nothing about servos, transmitters and such. And I plan to slowly upgrade it with aluminum parts and better electronics over time as I learn. Does this seem like a good idea or would you suggest I do something else?
Sounds like a good plan to me. the MST-01D is a solid platform and getting a ready to run version is a good idea if your a beginner (though keep in mind I think you need to supply you own battery but I could be wrong).
There are a ton of great resources online for learning more about rc drifting and rc components in general. Also joining a forum and/or Facebook group is a great way to get more info and get help/suggestions.
Make It RC Good to know! And thanks for the quick response. Definitely earned a sub from me!
Cool my freind whats the cheepiest 124 scale rc chassis for body from styrene kits
So i want to do a rwd with this platform and I'm still kinda new 2 rc drifting by any chance could you list the parts and platform you used for this build in the comments so I won't buy the wrong parts and lose money love your channel got my sub
Hi DoUrace, I'm glad you enjoyed the video, and thank you for subscribing! All of the names for the parts are shown on screen during the video. Everything shown in this video can be found on Ebay, and/or RCMart. The chassis is a 3Racing Sakura D4 RWD which can be found at RCMart.com.
Make It RC thanks for the quick response I'm finishing up a awd drift build right now I'm just waiting for some parts to arrive
I know this is a lot to ask for but can you by any chance type the name of the car word by word I know it's a lot to ask for but I was just on rc Mart and saw lots of different platforms that we're named Sakura D4 rwd but I'm not sure Wich one 2 order it would be a lot of help if you could do that
It looks like they currently aren't selling the exact chassis kit I'm using in this video. There is now an updated version of the D4 chassis called the Sport Black Edition. Here's the link: www.rcmart.com/3racing-kitd4rwdsbk-sakura-drift-sport-black-edition-p-73604.html?cPath=420_1417
They currently are still selling assembled versions of the exact chassis I'm using in this video here: www.rcmart.com/3racing-kitd4arwd-sakura-drift-preassembled-p-66140.html?cPath=420_1417
Make It RC thanks again big help cant wait till the next video
The ideal drifting turns for a motor is usually 10.5 atleast thats shat they run in most championships if not all of them.
Good to know. I've seen local guys running as low as 8 and as high as around 20, so I just figured I'd go with something in the middle.
Make It RC yeah makes sense i think 8 turns is a bit too fast and 20 turns is very tourqy but not that fast and speed is sometging you need from my experience not that i have alot but speed helps
I've been drifting for 6 years and I recomend a 10.5T brushless sensorless, with OMG servo.
10.5T brushless sensorless, what budget motor and esc do u recomend? and why every one i asked he sed go with sensor motor for better smoothing and u say the opposite?
Does this depend on car weight ? I'm doing a build for a project where I've a 26 t 540 brushed motor and 38:13 ratio differential that I will be running in a toy grade chassis .
What is he using as remote control or what can be used, cuz i want also a sakura d4 and i struggle with the remote control
@James Clark ok thanks
i have the same car but i have a 21,5 t brushless sensored... and its almost perfect for small track
Can you drop me a link for the esu and the brushless motor please
Greetings, I'm about to buy Sakura D4, but I'm very scared that I won't build it or even spoil it. Are manuals about mounting engine, esc, servo etc included? What tools and other stuff do I need to build the kit? Thanks in advance!
Silenty Alpha you get the answer
I like that the body shell is a 180sx and not a 240sx. Dont get me wrong, 240's are awesome but are also bandwagony lol
I really do like ur videos but could you put the links for the parts in the description
Hey man, love your vids. For the stroll shots, do you use a sliderdolly or a gimbal?
Glad you enjoy the videos! I wish I had a slider dolly or gimbal but all my camera work is done freehand or mounted on a trypod.
Make It RC oh it's really well done! Keep up the good work!
Feeling Good
Amazing
not sure if my comment came trough. but if you want, i can send you some pictures and setup tips that i used on my chassis. i got a yokomo yd2, and a MST RMX-D VIP. they are both RWD so it might help to see how they are set up.
Was the pinion delivered in the KIT?
No, pinions must be purchased separately. Make sure it is 48 pitch.
I heard the gyro had to be placed more in the rear for it to work properly, can someone confirm this?
what other esc's are compatible with the motor?
Watching in 2020😎
Do abc hobby body’s fit any chassis?
Dont put a Deans connector on the esc put pins that go straight to the battery, and lose the servo saver!
Is a 25kg Servo good?
I am making rc car with electric motors. Each motor is connected to a wheel so every wheel have a separate motor. So when i connect the 4 motors together to get same power how would i connect them in which order?
Also did you use a voltage regulator
He sounds like a young version of the “how it’s made” show
is there a link for all the parts used for this built?
i don’t know if you’ll reply but, what website did you get your items?
Is there anyway that you can build one of these cars without soldering as I’m a novice
Will u tell me where u got ur motor and esc
Hey,I want to start with RC drifting,I have already chose all the parts but you said you soldered the motor to ESC,do I really need to solder? because I dont know how to solder..
Yes, you will need to solder the connections. There are some great tutorials online showing how to solder, and a basic soldering iron and materials is inexpensive and will come in handy for a lot of different projects.
alright thanks! I will be getting a sakura d4 probably a RWD,is the gyro inside the receiver good enough or should I buy a seperate one?
So what was the voltage limit of the server you used?
Can you put a link to where to buy this
I have this chassis to
Include links for products in your videos
Where do i get the battery holder?
I wish i could be like you
Is it good if you use a tamiya euro truck
what charger do you use for the battery
Will any body fit the chassis?
Would A 3s lipo be to overpowered? I only got 3s ones at home...
3s sounds like it could be a bit overkill, but I'm not sure.
Make It RC Yeah, you are right!
Overkill and dont have enough space to put it on the chassis.
I.. own like seven DRFT-303 servos. My cars had a habbit of waggling coming out of corners. It turns out, it's the servo. They have pretty poor center seeking :-( For very little more money, better servos are out there.
Though.. the $4 drft-303 still calls to me... I'm not throwing them out. Just not putting them in anything that requires precise steering. EG, my daughters truck.
Thanks for the comment. Their certainly not the best servos out there. It's been doing okay for me, but It's on my upgrade list.
I ended up rounding up all the servos I had hanging around and doing some testing. (Tha'ts seven different types of servo...) Heh. WE'll see how I do at the track this weekend. :-)
Were did you learn all this?
so what is the total price for chasiss and electronica?
Whats a great small drift kit... like 1:48 or 1:24 scale?
Its 1:10 scale bro..
where do you get all the electronics
Where do you buy parts from?
How do you charge the battery?
Yo yo I need some help with the electronics on my rc drift car and i don't which to pick this is my first time building an rc drift car
joss
I want to get in to RC but have a tight budget. Can anybody give me some links to good parts besides these one that might be a little less expensive? BTW I subbed and the vid really helped.
Thanks for subbing, I'm glad you found the video helpful. If your looking for an inexpensive drift car, one option you might want to consider is a Tamiya TT-02. They are cheap, simple, plentiful and there are huge amounts of upgrade parts. You can pick up a new TT-02 Drift Spec. kit for around 90USD or used for much cheaper. I've built a lot of TT-01's and TT-02's, It's what really got me into the hobby. There not the best cars in the world, but for the money there hard to beat.
Could I use my electronics from my traxxas slash rwd (it's brushless)
Some of the components would bolt up, but I wouldn't recommend using them. Motor type and turn number is very important for RWD drifting. You would also still need a get a gyro, and I'm not sure if a Traxxas battery would fit well on this chassis (depends which one you have). If you want to build a RWD drift car, I'd highly recommend buying proper electronics for it. If you want to build a drift car using your Traxxas electronics, I'd recommend choosing an AWD drift chassis, since they are easier to drift, don't need a gyro, and its less critical what type of electronics your using.
