    SUWEET!!!!!!! After getting home from Hamvention, I ordered the QMX+ kit for my POTA go kit. I plan on doing most of my POTA from my Kawasaki klr650 adv bike. Wanna be somewhat light and small but…….I’m digging what you did here! So far, I’m using a SOTA beams mast, km4ack efhw, American Morse “DCP” and a bioenno 3ah…..more noodling to come. Also doodling a setup for vhf/uhf via Bluetooth set up for my Kawasaki…..

      I love it when someone is really into their kit, and it sounds like you are! Keep having fun with it. I really appreciate you stopping by, watching, and joining the conversation. Come back and share what you find. See you out there. 73 de Bill

    Nice, compact setup! That was fast! Is that a buck converter to drop the battery voltage?

      Thanks for stopping by and watching! Yup! That's a small dc-dc converter to keep the power right at 12v. I ordered it off Amazon - amzn.to/3ZGgLE1 I was looking for the smallest, and just picked this one to test. I covered it with shrink wrap (not the best job, lol) So far so good. See you out there. 73 de Bill

    The QCX had a battery display on the LCD. Doesn’t this QMX have it? Why do you need the voltmeter board?

    • @Bill-HRT
      @Bill-HRT  Před 4 měsíci

      Thanks for stopping by and joining in! The QMX also has a battery display that is controlled by a menu function just like the QCX. I use the board to convert and regulate the 13.8 of the battery to 11.0 for the radio. Some people simply use a 9.0v battery. I ran 13.8 through my first QMX and I think that's what blew it up. That board is a dc-dc convertor to make sure only 11.0 gets to the radio. I'll see you out there. 73 de Bill

      Thanks for watching and stopping by. The QMX has an SWR meter that can be set to display and a sweep tool, both described in the manual.

    Where can I find that paddle ?

    • @Bill-HRT
      @Bill-HRT  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Thanks for taking time to stop in! I’m afraid that exact paddle isn’t available. Adam, K6ARK, gave it to me a while ago. I think his 3D prints for a paddle are available on the web, and he might sell one, as well. Try his web site: k6ark.com/ 73 de Bill

      @@mountainwalk1169, that is awesome! You will enjoy it. Do Not build from any specific suggestions I have made in my videos; they have changed the winding directions since I have built mine. Im sure you will follow current instruction. The groups.io for QRP-Labs is full of info. Come back and tell me all about it. See you down the log. 73 de Bill
