  • WHERE: Roger Yates' CZcams Channel.
    WHEN: Monday, 29 July 6pm UK/IRISH Time.
    WITH: Guest panelist Carolyn Harris
On Monday’s show the panel will discuss whether veganism requires respect for ecosystems and free-living animals - some advocates have recently been insisting that the destruction of the natural world is not relevant to veganism, and that “animals … being bombed” is not a vegan issue. More broadly, the team will explore the claim that veganism has always been a movement for holistic social justice, and that ‘intersectional’ approaches are not a new idea within the movement.
Carolyn is passionate about the concept that veganism is not a “choice” but a paradigm shift, as is explored in Silvia Caprioglio Panizza’s work on moral impossibility, and supported by the personal experiences of many vegans. So as advocates, we might consider whether we should frame veganism as a choice at all and does it make any sense to talk about “holding non-vegans accountable” for their “choices”?
This is set to be an interesting and thought provoking discussion!

    Guest Bio
Carolyn became a vegan animal rights activist in 2010. She started her first animal advocacy blog just over a year later, when she was 15 years old, and in the following years volunteered with the National Capital Vegetarian Association and Vegan Option Canada. In 2019, recognizing that radical and abolitionist messaging is needed in order to end animal exploitation, Carolyn founded Always for Animal Rights, a radio show and podcast based at a community radio station in Ottawa, Canada. In addition to veganism and animal rights, she is passionate about the natural world, feminism, anti-consumerism, reading, and holistic critical thinking.

Very cute. 😂 I like that you used the submarine theme because it sounds like you are under water.
