The nostrils have evolved into blowholes and are now located on the top of the head. The hind legs have disappeared and the front legs have turned into flippers. His body had lost fur and almost all of his hair. This is simplified. The horizontal and powerful tail vane has been attached to the spine. These adaptations obscure the relationships that exist between whales and their closest living relatives.
