    I just did this myself. You only have to disconnect the lower control arm ball joint to gain access to all three bolts to remove the wheel bearing. You dont have to remove the entire knuckle.

    FYI, all. I learned that by Power Blasting the big lower ball joint, and whacking it like Mike, it will practically fall off. Protect top of ball joint bolt with its nut. then use 6mm Hex wrench to hold BJ bolt while re nutting. you can remove the 3 bearing Torx bolts in place if you want. I was in a bit of a hurry,so that's what I did.

    By the way, I bought all 4 hub assemblies for $261.34, with free shipping, from American muscle, with ten year warranty. This is for my 07 c6. The rear just started roaring a little bit. I'm gong to change all 4. Tkx again

      If you are doing a narrow body like this one, find the brake rotors. 7 years ago when this video was shot, rotors were around 200.00 for everything. They were so cheap, I would replace rotors with a new set of tires. The car rode so smooth. The C6 was a good car. My C7 was beautiful but a POS! My 2019 370Z Sport Touring Coupe with NISMOTech is the best. IT has never have any issues like all of my Corvettes did.

    than k you so much for posting. I know how to pop balljoints, but never done on the Corvette. why, oh, why did those engineers use 3 bolts instead of 4 which would have made this whole deal soooo much easier? oh, and I wish I had been there to loan you my breaker bar. ! LOL

    Hey sir, thanks for sharing this video. I was thinking of taking mine c6 to the shop, and i ran across this easy to do video. Where did you find your hubs? Im thinking amazon, they have moog hubs. Thanks again.

      eBay is usually cheaper. Amazon is just faster.

    What size torx are the 3 holding the wheel bearing in place? The rear is t55 is the front the same?

    Thank you for the video. Is it possible to remove the wheel bearing without removing the control arm?

    • @RideWNC
      @RideWNC  Před 6 lety

      There is one Torx bolt which you can not get to. If you could you can't get the torque wrench in there to tighten it back down.

    Are you hanging the caliper by the brake line???!!

    • @RideWNC
      @RideWNC  Před 2 lety

      It is sitting on the floor. Do you really think that is going to hurt a DOT brake line???!! Really???!!
      No!

    What is the torque value on the 3 wheel bearing bolts? Good video

      I usually don't ever post up torque specs. This car is a 2007. If the specs are different for a 2013 GS then that guy would flame me. Google the year of you car and it should be easy to find. You can also post up on Corvette Forum and someone might share their Service manual pdf.

    Do u have to completely take off the knuckle to rel place bearing??

    • @RideWNC
      @RideWNC  Před 5 lety

      You have to remove the hub from the car to get to all three bolts holding the bearing on.

    • @Rtzracer
      @Rtzracer Před 5 lety

      No! You can replace the hub without pulling the spindle.

      My first wheel bearing went out at around 70K miles. The rest followed shortly after.
