I know it’s been a year since this was posted but I went back to it after the current events you and Jolene went through. I’m really perplexed how that clean engine on the garage floor created so much sludge and debris in the little bit of time that it was run. Almost like a bait and switch like he had another engine in the back shed or something.
Chad you and Jolene are amazing I believe you made Doug and his family happy as can be. Doug looks like a talker and you were nice and made his day...that's another reason I love your channel you two are humble and amazing people I'll be looking forward to the next video hope it's of the Bugatti
That straight six Jag motor was exactly what I thought would be a good choice of motor, it has the prestige for your build. And it looks clean and beautifully dressed. 👍🏻🙏
I always enjoyed the company of every eastern canadian i have met. Its my understanding the hospitality while visiting the east coast is second to none. Touring eastern canada is on my bucket list.
Doug seems like a very nice fella. I can't believe he's 82 years old and getting around as well as he is. wow. That's just incredible as far as I'm concerned. Those Dashes are really nice. ...
that birds eye maple is absolutely beautifull these guys are some awsome car folks i can tell by how meticulous they are with there pieces very good to know folks that have knowledge
Jag engine is an awesome choice 👍🏾 great episode, the two of you are really conversant and respectful every time you mix with others in the car community it was a pleasure to watch.
Chad I bought the identical boots you have on about four weeks ago for 59.99$ and I love them also I love when you and Jolene go on these road trips because you never know what you’re going to see on your videos so thank you again for sharing
Great to see the most current videos while the show is off for the season. Gonna be an awsome project when finished! Really liked you last project for the Winnery! Gotta start charging more for your creations!!! That was a $100,000 dollar project compared to others and more😁
I suggested a jag motor in one of the previous videos. They just have that European look about them what with the twin cam covers held on with a sea of dome nuts and the twin carbys. They were quite a hot motor in their day. Think the 4.2 litre were about 220 bhp. And the straight 6 format just lends itself to that long hood. Keep it up guys👍
Nice to see someone take the time to listen and be respectful to an old guy. The Jag engine will look great in the Bug, especially if you do the exhaust right. I thought maybe a big Buick straight 8 dressed up a bit might have been good, but the Jag has a lot more class.
Hell yeah let's get it done bro enjoy watching you work my man you got some Detroit love brother stay bless always you and your family I'm a big fan all your art work you have a good family to sir your girl is the best and your son will be awesome in time just like his dad, just keep loving him like you do brother and he will be fine stay bless always in jesus name amen much love good people. I representing Detroit's old heads garage motorcity keep getting it done bro.
Bad Chad, a man of real talents. My personal preference of an engine for the Bugatti would have been a straight eight, but a Jaguar engine will likely look better.
I agree. I really wish the show would stretch out a build to 5 or 10 episodes per car. Id like to see more building. Its like therapy. Chad builds the most unique things. I could watch it all day.
Hi chad the Jaguar 4.2L inline 6is a smooth and strong enging ;) i love your vid's greetings to you ol and have a nice weekend and stay save now from the Netherlands Chiel
Great sounding engine, excellent quality for the car. 4-speed transmission with synchromesh in all gears. Get 3/4 race cam from either Elgin ( Santa Rosa CA) or Isky, and triple SU's (cooler looking than Strombergs ), and a smooth old style cam cover (that finned cam cover is a smog motor cam cover). Make sure it has the best head gasket (ask Jay Leno)...as 4.2 have a very small compression sealing area and are known to leak over time. Did I say I love love the sound from this engine with long dual exhaust
CZcams put this in my recommended, it’s like they want me to see the whole story. I hope they can repair their friendship, that motor is definitely done.
Call me crazy but the hardware on the floor and the block does not look like the same engine we saw Chad open up. Where did the black paint go on the block for example. The rocker covers look different too.
@@rickdaystar477 I didn't compare the two videos side by side. They may be different I don't know. This video popped up in my recommended and I assumed they video was when Chad bought the Jag engine.
Go for it chad! The jag engine is the closest thing and will do it justice. Also, go with the exotic wood and make the steering wheel yourself- you can do it. The original steering wheels on the Bugatti are beautiful.
So excited that you will be working on the Bugatti again. One of top 5 clock makers lives in my town, I can get the clock restored for you, just message me.
I think you saw an in line Jag elsewhere thinking about for another project and passed on it, not Hot Rod enough. But yes, this engine is pure art and a sophisticated power that fits perfectly that Bugatti shape. I hope you can make the deal it would an awesome build. Loved the Chadallic, beautiful version, looked factory built. So do you have a hidden mystery crew of body experts behind the shed? I have pulled several all nighters. I truly enjoyed it. Take care, stay safe. Dennis in Virginia.
Motor looks great on the garage floor and in the engine stand. Just can't believe but I guess I'm going to have to cuz I saw it all go down that this guy ripped you all off with that POS of a motor that he brought over to you. So glad y'all didn't get ripped off in the end.
Good to see good down home people sill r out there Chad buddy u ever get to Parkesburg Pa let me know buddy stop by the shop and I’ll fill your truck up with all the free parts u want !!!!! No BS
The question to ask is- Do you have the replaceable shims, to adjust the valve clearance!!..This is BIG important..I can set one of those heads up before it's assembled to the block (a tricky thing to do) but I have been building those engines for over 45 years..It is VERY tricky to do and the MOST important part of the build...Great engine for the Bugatti build (allthough a bit heavy) I would have gone with a Supra 6 Cyl...easier to maintain...👍🗽🇺🇸
Hey Chad from a safety aspect when you climbed up in that attic I know you didn't have any choice in what ladder you used but have you spent my life on ladders it should have been at least 20% higher than the point you were going into so when you come out you have ladder looking at you you don't have to drop down to it and it should have been somebody holding a bottom
I'll tell you something, dude, people called Nikola Tesla and Albert Einstein crazy and I'm sure they told you at some point but we must be the most crazy because we make the world different And better ✌️😜

So much knowledge in this episode. What great people you got to meet.

A beauty day, nice engine and a even nicer people.
Jag engine is a great choice brad, Jaguar has such a huge racing pedigree.
Instablaster.
Jolene has good taste in motors.
The best
Liking the easy feel this type video, you'll love a Jaguar
Doug, your a legend mate, Thank you for the look around. Onya guys, get the Jag engine & blow on it ; )Oh, & the Wood Craftsman is second to none : )
That was real nice of the man to have u to lunch u don't see people doing that no more
Chad that man is a class act. Buy that engine that man will never do you wrong. 🏁
Pretty costly lunch it was...
Done right, that should do just fine. that british rumble might sound swell

This is well over 100k. Time is also money so 🙂.
Great job guys on that motor. You can't go wrong with it👍👍🇨🇱
Cool People... Thanks for the update on Jolene's Car

Jag inline 6 is a pretty sweet engine for that car.
Hey,I I'm the first one here, I hope since your season is over and I can't watch your builds on TV you will show some of your progress on you tube!
Danny Casler I was thinking the exact same thing....

neat stuff!... thanks 4 video. be kind.
Looks like a nice motor super clean and a old master putting it together makes sense just drop it in fully rebuild perfect buy it now.

3/4 race cam ?
Sad that what started as a very cordial and friendly meeting ,became a friendship and ended in such a needless way.
CZcams put this in my recommended, it’s like they want me to see the whole story. I hope they can repair their friendship, that motor is definitely done.
I'm definitely a fan of the straight 6 and the straight 8. I just really like the look of them and they are very reliable.
Awsome video
Love the hospitality
Jaguar are just releasing a modern version of the in-line six
Hi Jolene & Chad, GOOD VIDEO, I can't believe Doug stores 3 bag of concrete 11:06 in that attic space
Just watched the video yesterday of you pulling the oil pan on this motor. I feel bad for you guys because that had to be disappointing.
Call me crazy but the hardware on the floor and the block does not look like the same engine we saw Chad open up. Where did the black paint go on the block for example. The rocker covers look different too.

@@covertyankee Strange it popped up in my suggested too this afternoon.
Funny how this popped up in suggested videos while currently, Chad is about to have the Doug built" Jag engine rebuilt.
One of the nice things about the Jag XK engine is that it will make the right kind of sound for the Bugatti: a lower rpm bark that is distinctive.
Had to re watch this episode
Go for it chad! The jag engine is the closest thing and will do it justice. Also, go with the exotic wood and make the steering wheel yourself- you can do it. The original steering wheels on the Bugatti are beautiful.
I'm sure it's outrageously expensive, but c'mon. The Bugatti has just got to have it.
So excited that you will be working on the Bugatti again. One of top 5 clock makers lives in my town, I can get the clock restored for you, just message me.
Also jag motors the early sixes are tough as hell, they were designed to run at places like lemans, 24 hour race they rev to 8000 rpm and sound great.
Like the longer videos

Down East hospitality.👍👍 That Jag engine would probably be just dandy in the Bugatti. Jaguar engines are plenty powerful enough.
Motor looks great on the garage floor and in the engine stand. Just can't believe but I guess I'm going to have to cuz I saw it all go down that this guy ripped you all off with that POS of a motor that he brought over to you. So glad y'all didn't get ripped off in the end.
Very very nice. Everything.
Jag straight 6 good choice of engine, period looking.
Beautiful engine stand nicer 450sl varoom. I heard there's a 35 Bugatti donor car in a barn in England someware
Grwat video Chad and Joleyne 👍
Go for it, a special car deserved a special engine. Any European engine will be alright for this beauty do not go cheap..........
Good to see good down home people sill r out there Chad buddy u ever get to Parkesburg Pa let me know buddy stop by the shop and I’ll fill your truck up with all the free parts u want !!!!! No BS
No better choice. Jaguar 6!
Wow 🤩 that little car and the speed boat was awesome 😎 buy the jag motor off of Doug u won’t go far wrong ! Hope the lunch was nice lol 😂
Sad to see that things with Dug went down hill
Ya, that motor definitely ate itself.
I love the brotherhood of car enthusiasts.
#wifeknowsbest👍
Listen that a great type of engine.
To put in that nice build car.
Aviation and intelligence usually goes hand in hand.
Chad the guild of automotive restorers is a shop in Ontario that built a Bugatti for a show concourse de something they could help
Nice, but that Judd V10 tho...
That engine is perfect for that car - perfect.
Funny watching Chad get stuck with a clock and a buggy roof frame he didn't want. As long as you get the Jag engine, it will be worth it!
That middle dash is for a Triumph TR6
Doug is very generous.
Chad the man!
So cool brit engine

A Maserati inline 6 from a 3500gt would be awsome, or atleast get the triple carb set from a mkx jag for the jag motor
In my mechanic's yard there is a green Jaguar always sticking out its ass end, and it never gets repaired either...lol [parts?]
love the show n the content n people ...maybe edit some of the awkward standing around out a bit....all in all still going to watch regardless
I always thought a jag motor would suit the best.
Nice
That is a good engine.Throw in a turbo charger on. And you have something nice
Stock 250hp...beautiful and classic. Very valuable at this point. Try to get the car it came out of while you're at it?
That clock would look good in the Bugatti... not the ole thing but just the clock it self as a gauge
Nice to see my old grandfather on camera 🤣
And I can’t believe how limber Doug is to be able to jump up and down that ladder like a young feller he would never think he was 80
Y'all gonna put that bugotti over the moon
That engine is not 1967! It's out of about a 1987 Jaguar XJ6!! May as well put a LS in it!!!
Lovely engines, but the Lucas ignition,,,,,,,not so much.
Hope you can find a more reliable substitute?
Dude he was really buttering up for that engine but I think it would work perfect for that car.
Since he gave you that clock, would you give me that wallet? Empty of course. Looks super cool!
That engine you could eat off of, class act to invite you to dinner also
Someone could have helped Jolene crawl up into the attic for crying out loud!
What about one of those old v12s
Or a hot 6
That thing would rip with a 3.3 L. Yamaha 2 stroke 60degree v-6 vmax boat motor 200 herspowers
Or a little v-8 boat motors are great
That engine is way to go' Joline know her stuff
pinto 4cyl. would be fitting
most people pull the jag engine and put a ford or a chevy engine in the jag just so they don't have so many break downs
Put a Toyota 2jz in it that would be awesome!!
I'll tell you something, dude, people called Nikola Tesla and Albert Einstein crazy and I'm sure they told you at some point but we must be the most crazy because we make the world different And better ✌️😜
Bad chad u can u do buggy project old school off road project vlogs

Ps. They have a show as well
