  • This is a video showing the process I used to repair an oil leak coming from the rear main seal on my 1989 Isuzu Trooper with the 2.6L 4 cylinder (4ZE1) with the MUA5 5-speed manual transmission. I am in the process of repairing and restoring my Isuzu Trooper to its former glory.

      Haha I probably should've spent the extra money to put a new one in just for the piece of mind, but it looked to be in good shape with little wear, so I put it back in

      Awesome! Very cool to know my little channel has reached the other side of the world! They put the 2.6 in rodeos here as well. Also the Isuzu pup pickup. The Troopers we're sold as Holden Jackaroos in Australia, right?

      @@HighMileageReviews yup all that's correct.
      I think the trooper has a added body line or Something about them just looks off compared to our jacks. But overall I believe your right.
      I'm trying to find more info on turboing one of these old girls and typed "4ze1" into CZcams and you came up among all the other videos I've watched 30 times from 15 years ago and seen your a new and recent channel.
      So glad to have someone else appreciating the old 4z and is also willing to do the time to document your adventures.

      @@HighMileageReviews kinda funny that yours is a 89 aswell 😂 my single cab rodeo was a 89 and currently swapping whats left of the good parts into a 93 space cab rodeo. Keeping the 89 motor with and I've put the circle throttle body, intake and red top injectors off the 93 onto the 89s head and block.
      By far a big improvement, even just a circle throttle body and the injectors would give u a bit extra power out of the old girl.

      @HighMileageReviews  Před 2 lety

      No kidding? It's been over a year now since I purchased it. I got it much cheaper than the seller was asking too, but the other big issue it had was emissions. Took nearly a year of chasing my tail to get it to pass! Good luck with fixing yours! With the right tools, it shouldn't be too bad

      Keep an eye out for at least a couple more repair videos of common trooper issues. They're 31" Mickey Thompson MTZ tires on OEM Isuzu snowflake style wheels. Previous owner painted them black, but I'll probably respray them a dark gray/gunmetal color at some point

    • @HighMileageReviews
      @HighMileageReviews  Před 2 lety +1

      The 2.6 4ZE1 uses the MUA5 5 speed manual transmission. You should be good to swap that over in place of your auto

  • @joshuathompson2131

      Didn't want to risk getting water into anything. Had a few leaks already, so if oil could get out, then water could probably get in if forced!

      I believe the manufacturer recommended fluid was just motor oil. Something like 5w-30 i think. I can't remember the exact viscosity. You should double check if you have a Haynes repair manual or search the planet isuzoo forum
