Well hopefully your house guest leave soon so you can set up an office for yourself... i work from home and its so hard not having your own quite space to be able to work from home... i personally can't wait till november.. im so overwhelmed
I teach 3rd in Cali. The phone document camera isn’t working for me either. This is a rough time for all of us. Damn you COVID-19. I want to petition the government for teacher reimbursement for all the stuff I’ve bought just to work from home.

Do you mind sharing your lesson plan as far as teaching virtual rules, routines, norms and procedures? We start on 9/8 and I am freaking out! I don’t know where to start and we haven’t been given any direction. 😩

I used class dojo since my first year of teaching.
This year since I’m at a new school, I began using classtag since that’s what my teammate uses. I ended up switching back to Class Dojo 😊

Thank you for sharing your trials and your successes! You are helping me so much! I can’t believe how much money I’m spending, either! I’m totally exhausted from trying to prep and anticipate problems AND teaching brand new lesson plans because my district is using Eureka this year for the first time.
I still use name cards and call on students that way. We are using Google meet so I don't see everyone in the screen. I added student pictures on index cards as well as their names so that I could start identifying their faces.
@avij7 download the “google meets grid view fix” extension! You can see everyone on the screen and yourself. Maybe you have it already, since I’m replying to you all late , but maybe you don’t :)
Every time we do something in Zoom I have to tell them....i've literally NEVER done this before lmao. I plug my phone into my imac to use it as a document camera. Sometimes, it works, sometimes it doesn't. The day before school started, it did not work. Like, my phone wouldn't connect. Then it started. I hate having to rely so much on tech because stuff just...goes out all the time.

After watching this video, I now know it's not just me being hard on myself or not having the right mindset. I'm finding it completely challenging with trouble shooting technology and trying to give a great lesson online to kids with no names but phone numbers. How great to have kind, supportive colleagues that love to give cakes! 💕

I used virtual manipulatives and a whiteboard app for math during summer school for the little ones! I found a freebie on TPT! I’ll look for it and link it.
Hi Fernanda! I l have been totally using the Ipad for Zoom and the good notes app. It's awesome and thanks for sharing. I see you still use the Ipad and in the beginning you show your slides. Are they powerpoint slides you created and uploaded to goodnotes? Can we have access to those powerpoints are they in your tpt? Oh and I can't wait to see your boom card tutorial. Thanks again!

How did you edit the about me slides? I brought them from tpt, but some of the boxes won’t move for me 😩
The boxes don’t move- they are no editable
I covered them by creating white boxes on slides and adding boxes myself.

Hi Fernanda! Follow up question, can you please do a tutorial on how you make your powerpoints for the goodnotes and the thumbnails. There are not many youtube videos explaining these. Maybe some of the places you get the clipart and so forth. I would greatly appreciate it! Blessings!

It’s the alternative I am personally using. As far as platforms, we use a lot but house them all on Clever. We use imagine learning, zearn, boom learning, and zoom mostly

Are students not using their own accounts? Could you have parents rename the account to show their students names?
A lot of them didn’t know how.
