Ah man same here, well we do have Cameron Glickenhaus to thank when it comes to exprimental projects with his scg's in this era. I think the competizione p45 still races at the ring too. I miss things like the lfa and zagato astons. But experinental is just that, a test for a short period of time. Both brands are all grown up having tons of mileage around the ring and Gt3 cars at the top of the pecking order in these races thanks to those experiments👍
For Simrace Fans... The Original Ratios of this Car: 1) 2.750 2) 2.000 3) 1.588 4) 1.350 5) 1.181 6) 1.045 Standart-Differencial 3.444, but he drove a longer Version. Maybe somwhere between 3.250-3.300.
@@iiPolaris On the DTM page, under Technical Reglement. But this Gear Ratios was only from 2004 to 2012. Maybe they used it also after 2012, but im not sure. I have also a lot more Ratios from other Racecars, if you want something ...

Great driving...although he was a bit carefull and missed a couple opportunities to shove others out of his way in the bends. What is evident is that either this car has superior aero or better road handling because he is able to hold the same speed or better than others in the same bends AND having much tighter lines. The R8 had a better top speed but was no match in the bends and was holding him back. The Porsches were equally fast on the straight but were again lacking in the tight spots. The accident on the end was not because of cold tyres...he had put enough mileage on them to warm them up. It was because of two things: dirt on the road (right before the bend) that reduced it's grip and riding the cerb that lifted the rear of the car and led him to spin. Up to this point he was faultless.
It's amazing how 12 years later GT3 cars are now aero monsters and can do everything as good as if not better than this classic dtm car could back in 2010. But still more identical to their road cars than this dtm was to it's road car counterpart. Technology man. We really be driving racing cars on the street now days.🤣
Dontnknow if you have been asked this or nnot but was just wondering if you might be able to advise me if that rod that we see in the middle of the video, is that actually in a way hoilding the front windshield in place????
may be a strange question towards the very end of the video when the driver made that pit stop, what did that one guy actually write or mark on the cars right windshield wiper?????
oh, and can anyone explain to me why this DTM car is allowed in the same class as the others around him (if he is in the same class) as it does have different racing regulations on the car (for example a lot more aerodynamic parts) thanks.
Triple777ER Racing incident. Audi had lots of top end on the straights but was lacking tremendous amounts of downforce or grip which was showing up more and more in the infield. Astra saw the gap & took his chance! Unfortunate Racing incident.
so you know guys the reason he lost control was couse he still had cold tires, and that's one of the reasons why he was going a little slower , or and its posibble there was something in that part of the track where he put the car.
It's not everyday you get to see an Astra overtake an R8 XD
I love this V8 Astra and i missed the old experimental days of racing.
PHILMKD1995 ..Agreed 100%

Its an Astra but not as we know it...
The car is so quick, it's amazing the tight lines it could hold when chasing the black R8 LMS. Tons of grip!

What an amazing car, i wish they made street version of astra v8 coupe, that astra extreme, if i ever get some cash i'll make a custom one
Hammer !!!
Gotta love aerodynamics!
ich drücke dir auf jeden Fall die Daumen!
Those guys definitely have the balls.
Good v8 Astra
my favorite car for GT6. HANDLING!!!

Don't care if this is an old vid, that Astra sounds Angry af, loved it. 😆😎
Gran trabajo de los mecánicos y gran trabajo del piloto. ENHORABUENA. FROM SPAIN
Que buena on board
Que calentura el final lpm! 🤣
merci pour la video;dommage pour la sortie.....
wow It's fast in the curves.
Ok thank you for clearing that up :)

46:05 that must suck a lot when it happens for the other driver. Also the crash at the end damn.. all it takes is a little mistake and you lose it all
this guy got tired of audi drive not being careful bullshit, so he did what he did. I don't blame him.
Hammer...
I agree, what a sad ending. Great driving up to that moment though!

I don't think they're running in the same Class; its a multiclass race.
You might want to consider changing cars... All that work and the Porsches still got ya! 😎
What was the problem with the accident?

Nice stuff, car looks awesome, at the end of the 2nd lap it looks like he lost a lot of pace.
@ 0:47 who thought that it was a bird just landed on the car hood 🐦🤔😅
@elitehengst: such mal nach "Eifelrennen 09.06.2012 " da kannste 3h mitfahren :)
funny part is at 25:45 when that fiesta driver is trying to block him
such a sad ending :'(
Would the driver get penalized for the contact at 46:05?
Triple777ER Racing incident. Audi had lots of top end on the straights but was lacking tremendous amounts of downforce or grip which was showing up more and more in the infield. Astra saw the gap & took his chance!
Unfortunate Racing incident.
He had an overlap. Audi driver left it too late to close the door on him.
BLOCKBUSTER ! :)
yer makes sense when you see the driver constantly trying to get out of the dirty air in the vid
This guy is playing no games!
anyone know the top speed?
+Sivels On the final straight at the end of each lap, probably more than 300 km/h.
opel :)
The driver of the vehicle drives cautiously, otherwise, Opel's road holding is not very good, I think.
Crash at 46:05
Lol he just pushed that annoying audi off the track, oh and he also crashed at the end
Bad ending !
boa zieh doch vorbei - is doch klar unterlegen der R8 :D

+ozzFensen There's no way he still had cold tyres after all the racing.
Im just saying it could have 1 of the problems, :)
2010? Looks like the iracing scan 😂
Geil - Opel-Power macht Audi nass :)
I thoutgh DTM car was way faster than GT3 car
multiclass races sux btw
