This arc was the peak of the anime. After Shishio and his group were defeated, the series went downhill, but still entertaining nonetheless. This show will remain in my top 10 forever.

The reason for the filler episodes after Shishio' is that although the manga was well into the Kyoto arc when the anime was conceived, the production caught up and the mangaka was still working on the Jinchu arc at this point. So in effect, it was like the situation with the Game of Thrones adaptation.
it mainly tells you two things: 1. Shishio is on his ship about to burn Kyoto and blow Tokyo to the bowels of hell....the situation is very intense....But the story creates a fragment of belief in your heart that this might just be right (I mean look what they did to shishio) 2. Anji's vision to bring a destructive judgement to bring those pure hearted kids back to the world

La banda sonora de este anime intensifica espectacularmente el drama de la historia que se nos cuenta, especialmente en la insuperable saga de Kioto, donde todos los personajes tienen un trasfondo que te permite empatizar de manera íntima con ellos, ya sean los protagonistas o los antagonistas. Incluso las reflexiones de los protagonistas son sublimes: así, y tras la batalla contra Shishio, el propio Kenshin sostenía que su postura es la correcta quizá solo porque han vencido, sin poder condenar completamente las motivaciones de aquellos a los que han vencido, más allá del coste humano que sus planes habrían tenido.
Este tema me recuerda el motivo por el cual animes como Samurai X, Dragon Ball, Scryed, Caballeros del Zodíaco y muchos otros son épicos. A la hora de una batalla los héroes lo dan todo, hasta su último aliento, por vencer. Este tema me recuerda cómo Kenshin llegó a derrotar a Shishio estando en las últimas, al igual que Sanosuke y Saito durante sus batallas

Que buen soundtrack el de rurouni kenshin, Que buena saga la de Kioto, la mejor. Me pregunto como hubiera sido la pelea final contra Shishio si no hubiera estado condicionado por lo de los 15 minutos y su temperatura corporal, creo que en términos generales era el mejor, mejor que kenshin en cuánto a poder y técnica de combate, la diferencia es como siempre la voluntad y corazón que tienen los héroes acaban venciendo a alguien más fuerte que ellos como lo hizo kenshin y otros héroes en muchas series e historias

That's because after Shishio it's filler. Read the manga for the final arc
Everything in the anime after Kyoto Arc is a filler. After Shishio's defeat the manga goes with the Jinchu Arc and now the Hokkaido Arc.

After reading the manga - I would have liked to see Enishi Arc animated - no not that OVA they made. lol. Shishio's arc is still badass.
This arc became a template for many others epic arcs. The build up, progress and conclusion were just perfect

Kenshin igual venía de otros 2 combates. Al final el que estaba mas desgastado siempre fué él, no Shishio.
