Was it played every day ? Always ? I don't know how does it was, I want to imagine the atmosphere (I went to Auschwitz and I was very touched)

If I had to guess (not hindered by much factual knowledge) it was played only to entertain officers and soldiers on sunday afternoons... apart from the musicians themselves I doubt many prisoners would have heard this music.

The thought of this music, "The Best Time of Life" in English via Google translate, coming from the most infamous of extermination camps & sounding so upbeat is quite disconcerting. If you didn't have the extra context, you wouldn't have put them together.

They played upbeat music because in Terrezin they had the Red Cross come see that the camp was “a good environment” so the Nazis made the prisoners do a concert for the Red Cross and that’s why it was upbeat mysic

If you view it from the perspective of how could something so beautiful come during a time of such brutal and extreme cruelty, then it lets you see that even in the most trying of times, the human spirit still wants to live. The song is beautiful and I view it from the perspective of how special it is knowing that it was during a time of extreme sorrow and loss.

Terrible time in the history of mankind, history repeats itself, this should not have ever been allowed, nor should it be allowed to be repeated.
