Loving the 5 wide schemes...trying to incorporate them in my playstyle as well. I encourage you to review the Empty Spread formation (Penn State / Kansas) playbook because it has QB blast, but also Slot and HB options. Also, Penn State has Empty Bunch Quads with QB blast and some screen plays as well.
Im not a fan of Quads....route combos seem to bunched up for me

It’s not 5 wide, but I’ve found success moving the ball against mid blitz by using UNLV’s Go go scheme. The unbalanced gun duo formations block it well and you can send 4 out with time.

So yeah, don't chase, but have it in your bag just in case you need it.
