    The extra wire is the power source wire. You must tap this into the tail light power source in order for the third brake light to have power! If you have more questions about Valenti Lights give us a call at (714)-582-3330 and ask for Jurrian!

    Just finished installing mine on a 2015 BRZ. I know this video is a bit old but still.
    -You can remove and install your third break light even with your stock/aftermarket exhaust/muffler attached, just don't forget to remove the two push pins on the bottom (left and right) of the rear bumper that's attached to the car. You'll see it when you get under. I installed mine w/o removing the exhaust/muff.
    -Yes, disconnect your battery just to be safe.

      How did you get the V to light up
      Mine won't. I've tried connecting the light blue wire to all 4 wires on the Valenti taillight harness
      Nothing

  • @Modbargains-google-plus

    The center red triangle in the middle of your third light is indeed a brake light. You can potentially cut and solder the wiring to your requested specifications but they are different than what we recommend. We do not offer any support for modifying parts other than the way we have provided it to you. If you were to do such a thing and re-wire it to your specs, feel free to do so, but we do not recommend doing so, nor do we have any support as in instructions to bring it to your spec.

    make the whole "fishing wire through hole" a bit easier: loosely tie string to original wire harness before pulling it out. The string needs to be long enough to still be in the boot once the original harness has been pulled through. Like using a cable snake. Remove the string and tie it to the new harness, then you just have to pull it back into the hole instead of stuffing around trying to push it in.

    I have a 2015 BRZ and wired it just like this but the brake light for the V light up.
    I removed the light blue wire from the pine and attached it to the dark blue wire on the Valenti tailight.
    I attached the things red wire to the res wire on the Valenti tailight

    Why does everyone making these videos just assume that you already have your exhaust removed.. lol wtf, making it look way faster than it is. Just go under your car quick and remove these clips and wires. Not like there's a huge fucking muffler blocking your access to it.

    • @RED89P13
      @RED89P13 Před 6 lety

      Joseph Dynan I've never thought of that lol. Must be why nobody else thinks of it. Most people who start messing with this car anhoe do the exhaust first. My mentality was make the experience of the car good for myself before making it look nice for others. I put in a 10" sub did interior lights and changed my exhaust then started thinking about how it looked to others on the outside.

  • @Nocra505
    @Nocra505 Před 7 lety +2

    for the most part this was accurate. I'm not sure if the wiring involves valenti tail lights for this video to be 100% but did not work with my tail lights. red/red , blue/blue does not work I ended up having to cross the wires for it to work red/blue, blue/red. when clamping down don't press too hard or you'll be like me and cut the wire lol. overall the video was helpful and installation was easy to do. just test the connections first without doing any splicing.

    • @ryanwilliams5575
      @ryanwilliams5575 Před 6 lety +1

      Mine too. They should not be using colors, but a pin diagram. Different 86's are different colored harness. on the male end of the driver side tail light harness the pin diagram is as follows: top left - ground, top right - Tail light (ie rear fogs, runnning light), bottom left - turn signal, bottom right - brake light..... That is with the clip being at the top of the diagram. Which means you want to splice the red wire (long excess dangly one) into the bottom right - brake light position of the tail light harness. And splice the blue wire (center wire in your 4th brake light harness) into the top right - tail light position of your tail light wire harness. In the modbargain car's case it is red/red blue/blue, in my case it is the opposite color wise, but the same position on the harness.

    • @LandonMeserve
      @LandonMeserve Před 6 lety

      Had to do the same... Actually had to open up the harness, expose the wire and wrap the red to red and blue to blue around each other... then solder and tape it back up. But when I turned everything on.. the damn lights were flip flopped.. So my running V light was the break light, and the triangle break light was my running light.. so instead of taking it apart, I went back under the car where the wires plug into the Velinti directly, and switched the wires, blue to red and red to blue... worked like a charm. Green is back up light, blue is break, and red is running light. Everyone out there, either my car was wired wrong to begin with, or every one of these videos I've seen is inaccurate lol. DONT USE THE TAPS... they cut your wire and don't make a solid connection. Especially if you wire right into your stock harness, they almost cut clean through it. I ended up stripping the wires into my Valenti break lights and wrapping around those... and it works like a charm.

  • @LandonMeserve
    @LandonMeserve Před 6 lety

    After installing and running the wires like the video instructed.. everything went smooth. I got mine from 86 website, so colors are different. Didn't have to detach the blue from the stock connection under the plastic piece.. just snipped it and wrapped it with electrical tape..then pulled through the slit he showed near the rubble nipple. Blue doesn't even connect to anything so no threat to snip and leave. For the wiring part, I actually had to open up the coatings on the Valenti harness, expose the wires and wrap the red to red and blue to blue around each other... then solder and tape it back up. But when I turned everything on.. the freaking lights were flip flopped.. Especially if you wire right into your stock harness, they almost cut clean through it, totally optional to solder, still makes a solid connection without doing that when exposing and wrapping around. I ended up stripping the wires into my Valenti break lights and wrapping around those... and it works like a charm. (most people say to stock harness)... but those wires are way too small, and it all connects to the same place. Let me know if you have any questions if anyone ever reads this... took me about 8 hours to figure all of this out on my own. lol #noob

      I just installed mine today and got everything to work great. The only thing I can't figure out is how the heck do you put the Plastic Rivets back on? I might be asking a very dumb question but I just can not figure out how to push those black small plastic rivets back on? Please help if you can? I really appreciate it and I am really sorry for asking the most dumbest question. Maybe I am dong something wrong?

    • @LandonMeserve
      @LandonMeserve Před 6 lety

      Haha you are fine... so take a flat head screw driver, and you will pop the circular black piece out of the piece that surrounds it. There are 2 small divots on the top of that plastic rivet, use that flat head to separate them. Once you do, you can line everything up, and insert them in their holes. Once you get them in place, push down and the circular piece will extend it's end so it can't come back out, and you're done! Pretty much the same way you took them out, you have to put them back in.

    My valenti third brake light has the same cables except that it has an additonal black/ground loose cable the same size as the red loose cable. Do I connect this black/ground wire to the black/ground cable of the valenti tailight? Or to the chasis of one of the bolts?

    I hate that the red triangle stays on. It makes the bar under it not stand out as much. I also don't like that the triangle does not light up or blink in the day time when the headlights are not on. :(

  • @FigoSeven
    @FigoSeven Před 10 lety

    Is there any way to rewire the rear fog light in order to make it flash at brake at any time? I just did some research. It seems like with the wire connection in your video, the triangle part only flash at brake when the headlight/taillight or indicator light is on. It will not flash with DRL on only and taillight off(DRL light will be on with hand brake off, so basically no light on at this condition). Thanks.

    • @ldorazio
      @ldorazio Před 9 lety

      After I installed mine 10 minutes ago, I realized the same thing. What I'm probably going to do is use a small relay that's "normally closed" so in the daytime with no power to the relay, the brake light coming on will power up BOTH the red & blue (through relay) wires making it light up and flash when brakes are on. Then when the lights are on, it will "open circuit" the relay and do the normal light on/flash with brake.

      I would go back and check those crimp connectors they provide. While handy they are notorious for poor connections that may lead to electrical gremlins. If this doesn't fix it a code may have simply been throne by something unrelated that a scion dealer should be able to check for free.
