Grew up with this show compared to what you get now this is spades ahead in both humour & writing!! Gregor Fisher & Tony Roper are proper actors!! I think series 1-3 was Rab at its best but even this is pure brilliance!!! Ian Pattison is a genious!!

I absolutely swear if it’s not Mary there’s a double working at Costa at Kinross services, she was telling hr colleagues about her mum sending her to church when she was a kid in a fur coat & a straw hat it was so funny & entertaining waiting for my coffee I could have listened to her all day, her female colleagues quite young were in stitches.
tragedy of this show as my own life reflects is that in 1990 when it first aired it was a funny look at the hidden underclass unmentioned on tv.now it reflects the realties of life for an increasingly large percentage of the population.rab was right 30 odd years ago in his perspective the world is run for a rich elite that says screw the rest of you.his frequent observation in the early years when patronised by some sneering observer i am your future this is gonna happen to you! has become so true!

The quality of the writing and acting through every episode is as good as it gets. Should be prescribed viewing. Some of these later episodes dip a little in places for my taste.....but just a little. The humanity and wisdom throughout is heart warming. What's portrayed is the poor of my youth. I wonder if they still exist anywhere in this form?

The septics would never make a show like this. All the US comedies are set around affluent middle class. Even the awful racist Fresh Prince show was a guy from the projects that moved to Bel Air where the head of the family was a successful lawyer. The quality of the writing and acting through every episode is as good as it gets. Should be prescribed viewing. Some of these later episodes dip a little in places for my taste.....but just a little. The humanity and wisdom throughout is heart warming. What's portrayed is the poor of my youth. I wonder if they still exist anywhere in this form?

I always have a Rab session every couple of years..back to back seasons from 1-10, early seasons were tinged with genius also, Gregor is one of-if not the greatest drunk that has ever appeared on the screen. Cheers for the upload ;)
It’s a shame the show is no longer. Just like all of the other British classics You can’t beat all the one liners, typical British humour.

The septics would never make a show like this. All the US comedies are set around affluent middle class. Even the awful racist Fresh Prince show was a guy from the projects that moved to Bel Air where the head of the family was a successful lawyer. There was a show that was set in a trailer park and there is the superb Eddie Murphy comedy PJs but thats it. Buisness as usual !!!😎
