Wizard Of Oz in the past ? When I watched the show , I’ve seen some Wizard Of Oz references . Ruby slippers , the Tin Man , the Scarecrow & There’s no place like home . How did you get inspired to make a villain twist to the story of the classic story we know and love ?
Wicked the musical was based on a book of the same name written by Gregory McGuire which is much darker in tone whereas the musical made it a bit more light hearted so that’s where the inspiration came from for the story
Just like the story of the witches , it’s almost like a prequel adaptation between Oz , the great and powerful and The Wizard of Oz . It does show some of the similarities to the original references .
@@jasonkingsley9134 Wicked the book was intended to be a prequel of sorts to the original L Frank Baum book but is it’s own universe as is the ‘39 movie, Oz the Great and Powerful and Wicked the Musical. All have references to the source material
