I've wanted to visit this museum for years. I finally got to and it was pretty amazing. A definite must for cartoonists out there. Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Peanuts, Sparky Schulz, Charles M. Schulz
So amazing to,see this video with the music playing in the background ! My go-to first Christmas tune each year. Astounding that Olde " Sparky " Schulz is still honored by his peers !
I grew up in Santa Rosa, so I spent a bunch of time around here as a kid! In elementary school we would take ice skating lessons at the rink, and I remember sometimes volunteering with my boy scout troop in the museum.
i went to the National Air & Space museum in Washington DC in 1999, and went up to the Exhibit of WW1 aircraft, and the main exhibit at the entrance to that was a large display case of Snoopy memorabilia.
Thanks for the post ! I've been a fan of Mr. Schulz and his work since the days when seeing his animated work on CBS was a Fall and Winter annual tradition. Namely : "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown", "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" and "A Charlie Brown Christmas."
I love this museum and I want to go back again. Thanks for the video. We combined out trip with a hot air balloon ride and lunch at the Kendal-Jackson Estate vineyards. So much to see in the area.
This place is really fascinating and I should honestly go to it more. Its definitely very interesting having this video crop up since I live probably 30 minutes away from here.
I don't know why there isn't a museum in saint paul, minnesota thats where he was raised and where he lived from 1922 until 1953. The first comic came out in the saint paul pioneer press in 1947 it was called little people then he changed it to peanuts. When mall of America first opened they dedicated the theme park in honor of his comic strip. they have statues all over Minneapolis/saint paul of all the peanuts characters.it would be nice to have a museum like this in his home state where it all started
Seconding this...speaking as a Minnesotan. Actually, I was about to ask where this was and then I saw Santa Rosa mentioned by another comment and I was like "WHAT?!?"
Elevate it to a certain extent ? Is he kidding ? Charles Schultz is to cartooning, as Fred Astaire is to dancing, or The Beatles are to popular music . . . there'll never be another, as good as he was .
No, the museum was built by his family after he passed. It's on the same land where he originally lived. Plus, Schulz built an ice skating rink when he lived there for his family and friends, and they've made it so people can actually go in there and skate. It's a really awesome place to check out if you ever get the chance.
The memories came flooding back to see this again. I was lucky enough to have a chance to tour the place about ten years ago.

How neat that they arranged the characters in order of appearance on the newspaper comic strip.
It’s a nice calm place, with all the snoopy imaginable!

Good grief! I just realized that his 100th birthday was just 3 weeks ago! And I missed it 🤦🏼♀️

Yeah, I think that'd be cool if one day they had something like that.

Great tour, congrats
lovely video! i love that clip of schulz talking
I never knew this place existed
Yeah, it's pretty cool.
Did you go to the Ice Rink? This brought back good memories.
I did but I didn't skate. There were quite a few people there, so I just walked around the area to check it out.
Wonderful! Thanks for posting!
Thank you
awesome thanks 🇨🇦😊👍❤️
I wonder who's got the original piano that all the theme music was played on?
i hope it still exists.
My Trip to the Snoopy Museum
We can't forget to give credit to the music. Iconic music that has a marriage with the animation..... Vince Guaraldi
I remember the backlash Schulz received when he introduced Franklyn to the Peanuts group!
It like Knott’s Berry Farm of history
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Bill Waterson comes close!
Where is this
Santa Rosa, California
I want to go, but I can't find any decent hotels or flights. Plus, I'm concerned about the earthquakes.
Don't worry, Earthquakes are rare and Santa Rosa (STS) has its own airport
I Need To Be TTTHHHEEERRREEE!!!
That’s not the original vince guiraldi version of the song. Ugh.
I don't know who vince guiraldi is. I just like Charles Schulz and Peanuts. 🙃
@@rontuckerdrawshe’s the guy who wrote and performed the iconic music. But this is a ham fisted copy.
@@rontuckerdraws Vince Guiraldi is the composer of the song Lucy and Linus, the theme music playing throughout this video.
