i used to think that saying "your music saved me" was just sentimental hyperbole, but music is one of precious few things that depression cant take away from me and now that I've found something i enjoy this much I've started to realize what people mean when they say that
Saved is really an exaggeration in most cases I imagine, but it can provide support in dark times. Humans feel comfortable when their lives are in order, and depression can form without you even knowing why. A lot of people nowadays can probably relate to the idea that their life is “paused” and our conception of time is what makes this bad in our mind. Humans think of time as a straight line going toward a goal, but in modern society that “goal” is non existent for most people and that’s what causes this “paused” feeling to occur. Depression is at its roots in Psychology the inability to “see the future” if I ask you or anyone what you will do tomorrow, or in a week, one month, or where you imagine yourself in one year most people would say they don’t know. That is the root of depression, theoretically anyways :>

I'm someone whos basically had depression since I was a kid and I've used music as an escape, sometimes to an unhealthy amount where it gets in the way of daily tasks or work, but It's also one of the few things that's kept me here for this long. Though I may not understand what miyyuu is singing his voice is amazing and I love how he adds little things here and there in his songs and covers, his range etc. is impeccable, honestly out of everyone I know in the music industry miyyuu has the best voice that can go with pretty much ANY song. Sure you can say that "Music has saved me" is exaggerated but technically it does save a lot of people. It's a way to get those emotions out whether you blast your music, sing it, or just feel it, Music will always exist and always be there for those who need it :)
literally .. his music helped me a lot w depression 2 years ago and now recently I lost my cat, didn't listen to him bc I didn't wanna associate him w a bad time but when I did eventually give in it made me feel so much better 🙁 his music is healing . we did find my cat after 20 days also!
