My pain is that our people keep believing in this, but their lives are not improving spiritually, morally, or physically. 5 or 10 people, including criminal politicians would give testimonies at the end of the year meeting, and over 3 million people will run their lives with those testimonies.
If he's a prosperity merchant, it's better than you who want people poor. I became super prosperous by listening to him and God changed my life unendingly. To be blessed financially and in all ramification, is far better than the opposite.
You are right. Human nature wants the good things of life. However the gospel of Christ is neutral towards material success. If Oyedepo were a business analyst or a stock broker, I will understand his position on prosperity. BUT HE IS A PASTOR!! The business of the church is to take people from this world to heaven!! It sounds really strange now, doesn't it? Riches takes the focus of a person from God. The rich man trusts in his wealth. He is fretful that his wealth will be lost. To make matters worse, he is still not satisfied. That is why Oyedepo will always ask for renewal fees ( aka tithes and offerings) to keep your covenant wealth. The gospel of prosperity is a recent one. An innovation. It's not the gospel of christ. It is the gospel of oyedepo. He merely uses scripture as a cover. The gospel of christ is big on penance, repentance, holiness, righteousness and the hope a new life in heaven. It's neutral on prosperity, supernatural wealth, supernatural health, the good life here in this world, since this world is transient. In fact, it cautions the rich man,. Jesus told us to store our riches in heaven where thieves do no loot and moths do not destroy. If this is hard to grasp, it goes to show the damage people like oyedepo has caused. Once more, for your eternal destiny, flee Oyedepoyism. For your temporal sanity, flee him as well, for he is bilking you.

Psalm 35:27b says Let the LORD be magnified, who delights and takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.” How dare you get angry at what gives God pleasure? I learned practical sanctification from him and my eternal destiny is super secured . And I thank God some of you are not given any right to decide how God's Kingdom operates because it would be hell on earth if you're allowed to.
