The anthem was written by Axali Doëseb, who was the director of a traditional music group from the Kalahari desert. Doëseb was chosen to write the anthem after winning a contest held after Namibia became independent in 1990.

To those who don't know, Namibia (formerly known as German Southwest Africa / Deutsche Südwest Afrika) used to be ruled by the Germans until 1918 and became independent in 1990.
Some parts of Namibia speaks German to this day.

Anthem is in English. I suspect u school primary school dropout. Anthem is not about English. About 90% of national anthems in world are not in English but in vernaculars of specific countries.
