When I first heard this song, I cried so hard because of the message behind it: “I’m the one I should love, in this world”. I needed to hear that at that time in my life. Beautiful song and person behind it.

I also recommend the “Explained” video for EPIPHANY by DKDKTV. You did a marvelous job interpreting everything you were seeing, but they will iron out any remaining wrinkles! And as others have suggested, it’s a fantastic experience to watch JIN’s live performance of this beautiful song.
Jin's voice has been dubbed "The Silver Voice" because it's so beautiful and clear. (Thank you ARMY for correcting me, I originally thought he was dubbed the Golden Voice) He has a triple high note in Crystal Snow that just gets me every time. He sings a lot of the high notes in BTS's songs as well as Jungkook and Jimin. He also seems to have the steadiest voice when it comes to live performances. It's hard to believe he didn't pursue singing prior to joining BTS. This song has got to be in my top 10 BTS songs. I just love it! I about had a heart attack when you uploaded it.

Mahalo, Alex. In the pantheon of BTS discography, 'Epiphany' is one of THE most beloved songs ('Spring Day' is also up there) - this song is more revered live, in concert. There's just something about the way Jin sings this song to ARMY (the slow buildup, Jin starts easy on the piano and then to the crescendo with Jin walking up a small flight of stairs to "heaven" belting the "ah ah ah" - ARMY are literally crying at this point). If you want to react to a live performance on Patreon, that would be lovely!
If you notice, he has the girl’s journal with him. He reads it and tries to do the things she likes to impress her but them the accident happens and she dies. He realizes that he can’t pretend being someone he isn’t, he can’t love anyone if he doesn’t love himself first. This song is a masterpiece and live it’s just a magical experience. Jin’s voice is very sweet but at the same time it’s piercing and it hits different when you hear him live. He puts so much passion on his voice, you can actually feel everything he’s saying 💜
remember in BU, jin used the girl's diary and he "became someone else" to please the girl/make her like him (if that makes sense). The lyrics say "I'M THE ONE I SHOULD LOVE IN THIS WORLD," it is when the girl got hit by the car (when she was crossing the road to jin) and died, he realized that he should've just acted like himself and not tried to be someone else.
In BU and in this last part of the MV jin grabbed the diary and he gave it back to the girl and did not pursue her anymore in the other time loop/line/parallel univ. I also believe that the "raining scene" was when she witnessed the girl getting hit by the car.
BTS' story with girls in BU = hella tragic especially jin's in my opinion. Namjoon's was cute but also hella sad.
AND BTW THE LIVE STAGES OF EPIPHANY ARE ONE OF THE BEST STAGES IM NOT EVEN KIDDING IF YALL WANNA HEAR AN ANGEL SINGING, U KNOW WHAT STAGE TO WATCH
I don't know if you remember, but in the Highlight Reels and what Celestes Explaniation video said, Jin was going to meet the girl and go on a date. He was reading her diary and dating her based on what he knew she wanted. He wasn't being his true self, but to the fantasy in her diary. So the cycle keeps repeating, he decides to go date using the diary and repeats the same cycle of mistakes. In the last loop, he doesn't read the diary, but decides to just return it to her and break the cycle of being something he's not. (We know this from reading the BTS The Notes books and other hints). But it also symbolizes what happens in the Highlight Reel when the girl got hit by the car and Jin goes back in time to the scene of getting ready. Jin catches the flowers and decides not to pursue her because the outcome will get her killed. It's the storyline being parallel to the Love Yourself Theme. Jin has the Epiphany that he should be true to himself and stop putting on a face just to date the girl.
Thanks so much for the video! Time loop is the whole idea. Jin has been in a time loop since the beginning of the BU story. He finally broke out of the time loop by closing the window and returning the girl's red diary to her. We watched poor beleaguered Jin suffer from day 1 and finally no more.
Technically this is the end of the BU (waiting for more lol) but in the story they are looking for the Map Of The Soul, and that is the next two albums, you already took a look at Suga's "Shadow" but there is also "Persona" and "Ego" they are really good videos too with a lot of information open for new interpretations.

There's behind scenes too. In the MV The one thing that changes in the end is he takes the girl's diary before he leaves, to return it back. Realizing he was trying to be everything she wanted, not himself and forgot about his friends also.
The impact this song made on the fandom is really huge!

This MV is very special!! the action of leaving the room everytime is larger. What most of people don't realise is that it is reversed: the end it is the beginning that's why the final quote.
When Alex said: is he going to cry under the window, that's the storyline beggining and moment of Epiphany.
1st. He just so the girl dying, the windows are doors to the parallel universe that's why he close the window curtins as we close the door when we enter home. He gets ready and pick up the book and leave the room WITH the book (just this time) to returned it to her(this time he had the revelation on how to save her)
2nd. On this action, he cried under the window after closing that universe he came from, because he saw her died and because he realised he can't have her. He will go and cry under the rain before he take the decision to return the diary.
3rd he decide to create another universe and he peaked up the book but doesn't return it. (He left it back in the sofa)he didn't have the revelation/solution yet so he goes under the rain to encounter his feelings.
4th the flowers reminds him of the parallel universes, probably has a revelation to do something different to try and safe her.
Once I saw a film like this, the begining was the end and the action was repeating so many times but always with little variations.
The actions are reversed and repeated but each one gets longer and longer giving more info. Finally read the actions 4th to 1st, you will see what I am talking about.

I think ephipany is about how he try to save the girl from the car accidence, because the book and the flower there...but he can't save her so he keep going in the loop until he gave up and return the book early, and decided to love him self instead and focus back to the boys...nice reaction as always.

I actually had my own epiphany this morning. I’ve been having some personal struggles and have been feeling down and disconnected. I have BTS on Spotify when I drive to work every morning and Epiphany came on this morning. I spent my whole day telling myself that I’m the one I should love.
For the filmmaker reacting to this...I actually thought it was funny when you asked “is he just stuck in a time loop? where did he go?” I felt like we were watching Stargate. You catch the nuanced symbolism. lol. Sometimes things are as simple as they seem. He is going about his life the same way every day.

it was super interesting seeing your reaction to Epiphany! loved watching you point out the details and mentioning the time loop, I feel like this video is super cool to analyze given how overall simple it is in terms of content.
in terms of the BU, as you already mentioned there's the webtoon and the game, and if you wanted to look at one of those, the easiest one you could find is here on youtube, it's the BTS Universe Story Trailer, it's ten minutes long and it has a mix between real-life acting scenes and animated scenes (and while I don't know how much you can comment on the animated scenes from a film-maker perspective, I do know that the animated ones are so gorgeous and stunning to see, they did such a great job with the scenery). anyway, the trailer kind of gives you a straight look at the overall plot of what you are going to see in the game and webtoon, without actually having to react to both of those, and again, the trailer is really stunning to watch, hope you give it a chance!
Although, if you do end up watching, i would sugest, as it would be better for understanding it, to hopefully search a subtitled version of the trailer. Or if you watch it from the bangtantv channel, there's someone who commented the translation of the short dialogues with the corresponding time spans!

When he went outside, i thought “they’re all going to be there”. So, yay. I’ve heard this song, mostly during performances (online). I didn’t know it was called Epiphany. Please check out bookish theory videos of bts. She has also made a theory video on meaning and hints in permission to dance and butter. It looks like those songs are just happy songs but they are more than that.
Weirdly enough, this song is in my exercise song list. It's so sad but so powerful. One of my most favourite BTS lives, is the live version of this song- it just captivates your attention so well. Song is definitely in my top 10 favourite BTS songs. The message is one of my favourites.
