  • Intermittent fasting may be an appropriate therapeutic approach for some patients and has been associated with improved health across a range of areas.1-4 Research suggests that the potential benefits of fasting work through multiple pathways from reducing oxidative stress to triggering autophagy. What are potential benefits when intermittent fasting therapies are used in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease? And how can the latest research help inform clinical interventions? In this episode of Pathways to Well-Being, intermittent fasting expert Dr. Jason Fung joins us to discuss the fasting-heart health connection and how personalized intermittent fasting treatments may help improve patient outcomes.

When I was 57, I was in terrible health, weighed almost 300 lbs and was a metabolic mess. I discovered Dr. Fung's books and videos. It changed my life. I lost 160 lbs and it reversed ALL my health issues. I'll be 61 next month and maintaining great. I'm so active and loving my fasting lifestyle. I'm so thankful 🙏🥰!

Most recent study found people who followed a pattern of eating all of their food across less than eight hours per day had a 91% higher risk of death due to cardiovascular disease.
This video says opposite, i am interested in truth but there is just no way to know... :(

Nah that recent study is bs, I studied and read many studies about the benefits to blood pressure, triglycerides levels and heart rate FOR YEARS, and those studies weren't coming from Mr bubu, but from real and full of proof researchers (Umberto veronesi for example)I can assure you this latest study is plain wrong because 1) it didn't take into accountability all the habits and diets of those involved in it 2) it's not even a revised and confirmed study yet 3) you're telling me that all the millions of people that have been following this type of diet (like me), who's benefits are backed out by decades of research, now magically they have a 91 percent higher risk of dying from heart disease?! Even tho it would be instantly seen in like ecgs and blood exams?? This is plain bullshit, it's one unconfirmed study against thousands of much more reliable ones

That was a terrible study. The news reports I saw even said it was anecdotal. If the study were true, we wouldn't be here as a species. Never before in our lifetime as humans have we been able to eat every couple of hours. We evolved eating and then not eating. Our ancestors didn't nibble on a deer every couple of hours every day. They killed it, ate it then were good for a few days until they hunted again. It's how we are designed.
Who did this study? How long was the study? Was it proofed?
Fasting has been done for thousands of years. I'll go with that research! 🥰. Thanks and be well 🙏😊

@@JohnsonNestorFamily Of course our ancestors didn't live very long either in most cases...

@@brianwillis4163 Because of things like infections, dangerous life threats, predators, enemies, accidents, harsh living conditions, disease etc. Not because they didn't eat every 8 hours.

I'm concerned since I have my very first heart attack last year during fasting. This concerns me especially with the new heart study on heart attacks increase with fasting study came out by the heart association.
