- There aren't any thorough videos on changing the diesel fuel filter on a Nissan D22 Frontier (aka Nissan Navara) so I decided to create my own. I am showing the removal step by step in case you need to change yours and it is your first time. In this way you can do it yourself without having to pay someone to do it for you.

Carlos, oh sorry, yes your filter, for some reason I thought you were talking about your fuel injection pump for which I have another video. Anyway, glad it worked out for you.
did one on the neighbours d40 the other day ,easier than his zd30 patrol for sure.
What made it easier?
@@JBsManCave one piece filter.should have filmed it haven't seen a vid for it on here.
It takes more than a minute to fill that pump. Before taking out the old filter get a clean dry 500ml water bottle and full it with the clean filtered diesel. Remove the old filter as the video suggests then fill up the new filter before trying to pump it full

How to fill it? The mount is in the way so i cant use a strap wrench and old mate here has it upside down to remove and replace the filter.

4 hoses? Do you have some custom filters additional to the stock filter?
@@JBsManCave I just read that some injection pumps take a second hose to lubricate and cool the pump , so this may be it... 2 inlet to the filter from the fuel tank and 2 outlet to the pump...
I am confused, are you talking about the fuel filter or the injection pump? The video you are commenting on is about the FILTER which has a hose in and a hose out. I have another video which covers the VP44 diesel fuel injection pump and yes that has four hoses but no filters to change on that. Just letting you know your missing the o ring on the primer and also if your having problems taking the filter off in a vice you can actually flip it upside down and bolt it back on to the housing and take it of that way also when your priming it back up you need to make sure that you fill up the fuel line with diesel or else you’ll get air in the line thanks and have a nice day
@Hawkeye thanks for the tips, however if you check the video carefully you will see the ring is there on the side of the filter.

Good day,
I have a D22 (zd30 model) as well as a d40 nav however I find the d22 a bit sluggish especially in the 3rd gear. Its not as peppy or responsive as i would have anticipated.
When using the 4x4 Low Range, I find that it can't maintain power in 2nd gear (Low range) on muddy hills when below 2000 RPM, which is rather strange for a turbo charged diesel leaving me to always reduce to 1st gear. The van never ever smokes, maybe slight Soot if reving very hard.
Questions:
1. Is this the nature of the zd30 engines and how they perform??? Especially when specs say that it's supposed to make 150hp?
2. Or am I expecting too much Especially due to the fact that I have a D40 navara as my daily driver?
Note: I've blocked the EGR and removed the catalytic converter......
@Kiran Poyah this is just from my own experience with power loss. First there is a brown connecting clip that activates the turbo, if this is not seated well or corroded then you will get that loss of power. Injectors, fuel pump and lines need to be clean. A scan will also ensure that your ratio of air to fuel is correct as well otherwise you could lose from there too if one of the sensors is bad.

Did you figure out what it was? The fuel pump could also be going and need to be changed / serviced.
The diesel filter is rock solid on my Nissan Navara D22 and I can’t get it off the top piece where the fuel comes in. It seems so easy for you. Any tips or am I doing something wrong? I followed the video.
Use a vise to secure the filter so it does not move and then take off the top. If the top does not move try using a vice grip. Sometimes gentle taps with a hammer also works.
@@JBsManCave yeah I used a vice grip that holds it in place but I’m gonna try to tap with a hammer

When last did you change that filter?
hey mate i have a d22 navara and it’s fine i’m first but i’m second it loses all power and pretty much stalls this happens sometimes assuming something with limp mode would changing fuel filter be worth a shot?

I can't say what your dad did but follow the video for tips. After installing new filter you have to manually pump diesel through the lines.
Pump the crap out of it and try and start at same time pump till it gets hard before trying to turnover
Also leave the non feed hose off and pump till some Diesel comes out then put hose on and go as I said before
Sir i use Nissan navara d40,i want to change fuel pump...if i cannot open cap can or no? only open old fuel pump...i look u open all..i think want open old fuel pump only n change new fuel pump...can or no if i want open as i said
@Muhammad Hasrul there is a special tool that can remove just the filter without having to remove everything else.
d40 is easier.
