Electric Golf Cart To Gas Conversion

I picked up a 1996 club car electric golf cart that had junk batteries so instead of paying $1200 for new batteries I converted it to gas engine using a Briggs and Stratton 200cc.

What engine did you use? If you were to flip the axle, what gear would you use for better top end?

I just turned down my shaft to 7/8 ths to fit the 10tooth drive gear and put the red spring back onto the driven clutch and drilled a new tension hole between 2 & 3 , Im up to 20mph

Could you have flipped over the axel and have the chain line up with the fnr?

Yes absolutely you can but the only reason I did it this way so I could change the gears for more torque or more top speed

My speed sucks , I put a reverse spring on my driven clutch,maybe I should have left the red spring on,,,

I used the original rear end unless your asking about the gear box then that's a go kart reverse gear box and can be found on Amazon or ebay

Is the frame aluminum and if it is how did you weld that steel engine mounting plate to it?
