How in the universe did I just discover Ren? He’s a literal new genre in the music game, he’s upped the ante for all artists with his performances. The guy is walking down the the road killing the guitar, while either rapping, singing, whatever. He’s something completely different and whatever he is it’s different in the absolute BEST way! The thing I love in this music and video is that Ren is talking about hypocrisy and at the end he just realized that he is been hypocrite too when he is going to burn the guy he kidnapped. You can see it in his eyes and expression right before the self-immolation ending. He is a genius.
Wow, I didn't realize he didn't pour gas on the guitar guy, I usually tune out when the gas can comes out, emotional subject.
The self-immolation at the end references a Buddhist tradition, as a way of opening peoples eyes to recognise that they are living 'in a burning house'. Hence the eyes drawn on the mask earlier in the performance. It doesn't work ...hence the ending.
