Hey Team! LM/ Safeco field property adjuster in Boise! Use ladder assist often due to company restraints on slope and elevation. HAAG and Settle Assist - I usually pay 180-250 for an assist with a roofing company.

Great video! Can you share some information about your roof rack (brand)? Thanks!

another good addition is a gallon of water to wash the oxidized metal off your hands everytime you leave a site. Otherwise the steering wheel gets filthy over time.

I have to say I'm a bit disappointed in this video. Tall roofs really need a taller ladder than described in this video. Each story is typically 10 feet vertically, adding in the 3ft above the contact point so you don't violate osha rules and the ladder angle with some positive slope grading, a 25ft ladder is barely adequate for some 2 stories, those with daylighted crawlspaces, basements with garden windows, or pier built and you'll be hard pressed to be able to do all jobs with a 25ft. There is a triple slide 27ft available for those in smaller vehicles. I suggest you carry the biggest ladder you can handle, a smaller little giant, and possibly a mid way point.
6:30 that's Chinese rope from home depot, do not use this to save your life. Steep and tall training available at major IA firms, get your rope from REI or other climbing sources.
Those looking at getting into this side of the industry specifically can look at firms like Hancock.

Good points, b. I always run with a 24 and a 32 and got all my climbing gear at a local rock climbing shop in Arkansas.
We don't have OSHA snooping around our inspections, but it's critical to properly set up and secure a ladder as well as have at least 3' above the eave edge.
Always buy the best gear - if you can't afford it, save up. This is your life we're talking about.
      Thanks for your comments!

Granted I've only had one OSHA visit, which was from a major construction project across the street who were in the middle of getting fined when the workers pointed out my violations also, they had been called in by a disgruntled employee let go the day before. I had exception to the rules they were under and explained that, so nothing came of it. It does greatly depend on if you're an employee or a 1099 sole proprietor as to the risks you're taking with OSHA violations/fines.
However certain states and municipalities may be much stricter. WA dept of Labor & Industries for instance is incredibly strict and has, in the past, offered rewards for reporting violations. At the Daracho I had city workers show up to my inspections doing damage assessments, clean up supervision and some were my insureds though nothing bad came of these situations it made me think.
