- Kolohe Andino: Shark or Dolphin? + Jordy Smith and Mick Fanning Shred Fest!
Thes guys went nuts during the Hurley Pro 2012 at Lower Trestles!
Is that a Shark or Dolphin surfing with Kolohe?
www.seven-films.com - Sport
Curved fin, 2 figures at :48, and its used the wave for momentum definitely a dolphin
nice surfing as well...wow
The dorsal fin shows that it is clearly a dolphin. The shape is a curve swept back with a scooped back edge. Sharks have more triangular dorsal fins.
Those pushing the shark argument noted that the dorsal fin looked a little too straight to be a dolphin, and that it was swimming alone, which is way more typical of a shark. Meanwhile, those arguing dolphin pointed to the whole pod of them frolicking in the surf at a neighboring break in the San Onofre State Park earlier that morning. They also pointed to the tail that looked more horizontal, a sure sign of a dolphin.
"...with no dessert and straight to bed." Smiles
Its using the waves Momentum like a Dolphin and also the fin is curved like a Dolphin, not to mention very streamline rather than a big chunky shark.
Look At the tail, clearly a dolphin
just seen Mick fanning attacked by a shark in JBay
I was thinking more of a fox but i can defiantly see you you perspective.
Does look like there were 2 but hard to tell under water but I'm sure Kolohe didn't want to gamble on falling off that board!
Hey guys i have absolutly no clue about surfing but ive just seen Mick Fanning getting attacked by a shark and i wonder: like what do you do to protect yourselves from that as good as you can? Like is there smth like spotters? Im pretty afraid of sharks and don´t like go out into the water too far because of it. Couldn´t imagine surfing and being out there all the time. :(
"Better than Orson." wiggles
Well I was there and Dolfins don't swim alone!
That's a dolphin surfing underneath and to the left of the surfer. At 0:48 you can clearly see 2 dolphins swimming side by side, on the right side of the surfer, under the wave.
"We should give them a permanent lunch." Aramis
bro they do hahaa 1 yr ago in nz 3 shark going for one guy
"Not sure if this doesn't send the wrong picture to the youth of our world; killing innocent little waves like that." (Burf!)
looks more like a goldfish to me
totally a goldfish
3 ain't a pair now is it?
Ok I agree with Socks!!
delfín
jordy!!!!!!!!!!!
The one at 0:50 is a dolphin(you can see it pumping up and down a little). The one at 1:58 is the tail of a shark.
On a side note that last wave is gorgeous.
"We want longer lunches." Ajay
Horizontal tail fin - Dolphin

"Will you people shut up? You surf all day and get paid for it." Socks
Not sure... Dont see the tail moving up and down so it could be a shark but at 48s we can clearly see two specimens and it can be also a squad of dolphins playing in the barrel.
Laurent Outang, can't see the tail because it is not vertical as shark's ones
dolphin
Dolphin
it looked to me like it was swimming in a strait line and I'm pretty sure dolphins swim up an down
It's a shark,as you can see when he get up on the board the "shark" ignoring him but it was going to attack
definitely a dolphin. it has a curved dorsal fin. and sharks do not have a flipper tale, they have a tail that looks like another dorsal fin.
"I'll consider it." Socks
"The wilderness idly formed shorn of trees would still be wild says wii, to thee." (See?)
because there where 2 of them but one bailed and sharks don't travel in pairs dolphins do
trout
dolphin.
its a blue fin tuna
the shark was not going to attack it was just checking things out
is a sharks mate
Defiantly dolphin
shark
dolphin...the tail says it all it was a horizontal fin...sharks have a vertical tail fin
Ur a nerd
maybe, but i was also SAR in the Navy and have seen more than my share of sharks and dolphin's.
No maybies about it. I've been surfing for over forty years and have seen countless sharks and dolphins. This is definitely a dolphin.
Dolphins have tails that are flat and sharks have tails like fish so it's definitely a dolphin
its a dolphin, sharks have a tail like its dorsel fin and dolphins lik to surf waves like that
it's a Shark! I do not think so .. but it is the reality
Its a hammerhead
leapord
nah thats a dolphin it has no vertical tail fin. also look at the last moments before it disappears it moves its tail vertically. no shark has the physiology to do that. Also i've seen so many dolphins play in the waves like that. that has to be a dolphin.
Shark ......dolphin would have verticle tail movment.
I'm pretty sure it's the opposite way around
mermaids
That was a dolphin
thats defnetly a dolphine
dolphin, they have curved fins
its a dog
