Donna Lee is so underrated no? It just takes a better ear to understand it I think, when I was new to Jazz I just didn't get Charlie Parker, but years later it is easy to appreciate his music.

About timing. I never count. I jog. The rhythm of jogging builds up a sense of timing . More importantly a sense of pulse . Pulse gives asserted timing no matter what the tempo is.

Underrated in a way. I had to listen to it, give it a month, then come back to it to really like it. It’s a great piece, but it’s recognised as such.
I didn’t like it at all before I had to transcribe, analyze and solo it for my uni. Now it’s one of my favorites.

Im learning it right now for an audition and I think as much as it frustrating its definitely helped me learn technique
Donna Lee is really fun to play, once you get it under your fingers. Klaunstance is the Bird tune that makes my head explode.
