    I have the mk1 and it is used for all sorts from front end loader work slashing and also a pto chipper! Like you I've been slowly refurbishing it so I get another 20 years of work out of it ! Worth the time and effort! And yes practically all parts are available 👌

    Hey Olly! We got a 65 few months ago a complete rust bucket we spent £3,000 restoring her and we sold her for £11,452 - They really are a good tractor definitely worth a keeper!

    I used to drive the MF65, mk2, on the Mendip Hills, south of Bristol UK. The only reason for Big tractors, was due to very poor crop prices.
    So farmers were encouraged to buy them, because they also found that it saved them the small cost of wages for workers?
    As we are going back to environmentally better farming, the small tractors will become more popular.
    I used to plough 10 acers, on one tank of fuel per day, on the MF65. A very useable Tractor. The MF 35X is also very good and will do most
    of the work that the MF65 will do,? 😬Have Fun.

    Good thing about these old tractors is the fact that they are easy to fix and there is good support for parts

    I owned a MF in the late 50's - early 60's and mine was equipped with a front loader with detachable snow plow, bucket and fork lift. I made a lot of weekend/snowstorm cash while I was in high school. A great little tractor.

    I was brought up on 135's, 35's and a 65.........the 65 brakes were not very predictable and the power steering was also rather prone to working one way but not the other, think 70/80's Zetor to drive! The 135 has it every time for certain👍👍

    What a nice old tractor! Your 65's serial number starts with SNDYW. Letter W means this 65 is an original Multi-Power model, which is now missing some parts. Top speed with Multi-Power switched to high position is about 19 mph, according an old sales brochure. I have similar tractor myself.

  • @chrisflemington819
    @chrisflemington819 Před 2 lety

    It’s still looking good!! Those people with more knowledge than I have on the engines seem to suggest that’s it ok but probably in need of some use which will/may stop the sticking piston rings if that’s what’s wrong with it if indeed there is anything wrong at all. But having seen this second video a new rim and remount the tyre and sort out the bonnet, hydraulics etc and you’ll have a really useful tractor. Is there an additive that you can use to maintain upper cylinder lubrication as you won’t be using it that much? I’m familiar with classic cars but not tractors and the additive I use for those is no good when added to diesel but I believe it is made. It will help keep the engine running as sweetly as it does now.

    Looks and sounds great for its age, just clutch looks quite worn which isn't surprising. Would be a shame to replace the grill as it's original and barely damaged, should be possible to get it straightened out almost like new.

  • @harrysemmence5046
    @harrysemmence5046 Před 2 lety

    Just my humble opinion but I wouldn't restore it cosmetically, taken years to get like that and the fabricated farm spec parts make that tractor unique. Mudguards could have rot cut out and be repaired and would be better than a lot of reproduction ones. All it needs is a good steam clean and treating with some owatrol to protect the paint.

  • @lucgagnon5241
    @lucgagnon5241 Před rokem

    Yeah ! At least, there is NO computer in this 65 ! All mechanical machine. I own a DB880 Selectamatic farm tractor. They are heavier than the MF tractors. But Perkins engines are simply unbeatable. And if I had to go back in time, I would buy a MF135 instead. Lot more reliable.
